November 2009 Code Watch

UPDATE -- We cancelled our November trip. We are going in April instead! Yay!
______
We are booked for 11/6 to 11/13 at POFQ. IF codes or promos don't come out, we will be cancelling because the numbers are just too high for us right now.

I had a reservation for the end of January / beginning of February at a great rate but we had to cancel that when the airline vouchers I won in a Disney contest didn't get me to Disney without touring half the country and spending 12 hours getting there.

My poor TA, we cancelled once in 2008, then won these vouchers and rescheduled, cancelled that, and now we are planning November 2009.

When exactly is Jersey Week? I've seen dates that have it ending on the 8th and others that say it lasts until the 11th.

Jersey Week next year - the kids have off Thurs the 5th and Friday the 6th. Being from NJ, it seems most people would go during that whole week, but perhaps some stick it out for the start of MVMCP, or those that may have Veterans Day off that weekend.

We just got back after a great week (the week before Thanksgiving)! I'm really hoping to talk DH into another November trip and a code or pin would really help!

Hoping to go back for Thanksgiving 2009! Will probably initially book at POFQ or WL with my AAA discount, would LOVE either an AP offer or some other offer to make it even sweeter.

We were at Disney in Nov. during Jersey Week...... I will NEVER do it again.:scared1:
We were there Nov. 1-8. the first couple of days were not bad, but by the 3rd day, the parks were very crowded and the lines for rides were very long!! Most major attractions had waits times up to 90 minutes. Nothing against those from New Jersey...:) but I will plan my next Fall trip during a different week hoping for less crowds.

Hi everyone! I'm planning on Nov 14th-21st, but those dates are subject to change. Hopefully, it will be our first stay at CBR (first stay at a moderate period). If finances don't allow for CBR, then we will probably stay at ASMu or ASMo.

I got a great discount this year (almost $400) so hopefully we will have that
kind of luck next year as well!! :thumbsup2

We will be there Nov 20-27 and have always booked while we were there for the following year. We just returned 3 days ago and I feel strange not having a ressie already! I have been reading this post and now wondering what is a PIN and code?? I like everyone else is looking for the best deal...can someone show me the ropes on this one??:confused3 We typically use WDW travel online for booking. Does anyone have a suggesstion of who they use? MANY thanks! ;)

Hi! I've never been to WDW and looking to go Nov/Dec 2009 or Jan 2010 with the family...

Can someone explain to me what the 'codes' are and for, as well as PIN (are they pins for the laynards, or special discount pins)?

Thank you, in advance, for your help!

I thought, I'd answer both of your questions in one answer as they are quite similar.

A "code" is a special offer by Disney for rooms or vacation packages. In order to use the special offer when booking over the phone, you will have to tell the person making your reservation a three letter code (for example IUZ for the 7/4 offer that is available right now).

A "PIN" is similar, but it is a personal offer that is only available to the person it was sent to. It seems to be random who gets a PIN, you might get it by email or by postcard.

I am always using a specialised Disney travel agent to book my Disney trips. One is Dreams Unlimited which is a sponsor of the Disboards, but there are others around as well. All the big unofficial Disney sites have a travel agent sponsor. The great thing is that those specialised travel agents look out for special offers (or codes) and once one becomes available for your travel dates they will try to rebook your vacation under the new offer and in this way save you a lot of money.

Also, a travel agent can make your ADRs and help with a lot of planning. Frye79, especially for someon going for the first time, I think a travel agent would be a great help! WDW can be a bit confusing for a first timer and those specialized travel agents really know WDW!!

Thank you for answering my question; guess I should seek out a travel agent...

I too am hoping for a good deal late Nov-early Dec 2009! We're hoping to make this our 2nd trip to WDW. Loved it so much and were sad that we had to leave just a few days ago. As it is, for the time period we have selected, Disney's rate is about US$700 more than what we paid for this year. We're hoping this will be reduced significantly!

Planning on Jersey Week again next year. Did not book yet. I have to make sure I can get the days off of work again and hoping for a great code or pin.

We are planning our 1st trip for the week of Nov 29th-Dec 5th. We are also looking to stay in a family suite at the All Star Music should we book now and hope a code comes out and try and to rebook? How hard would that be?

thanks in advance!!!

:thumbsup2

We're planning on Thanksgiving there with my parents (beats cooking here!). We're hoping for a great code, AP rate, AAA rate, etc. We're not booked yet. Here's hoping!

We're hoping to go during this time as well!

Hoping to go again in November! We'll be on the Magic from 11/7-11/14/09, so either the week before or the week after. The week before is Jersey Week... we were there this week in 08, and didn't find it to be tooo crowded. The weather was fabulous!

Looking for a pin or a code to make this affordable! Honestly I wasn't thinking I could afford another parks/cruise combo like I did this year... but with the 7/4 deal out now I am hoping there will be something similar this November. Hey, if I'm already flying all the way to Florida... :rolleyes1 Not sure where I'll stay this time around, though... POR is most likely, but if there's a good code I'd up it to AKL. :goodvibes
