NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

Subscribing, as I'd love to get a discount for my upcoming trip.

My arrival day is November 30th, but I'm there until December 10th. Is the discount good for the entire trip or just that one day?

It just depends on the dates eligible for the discount. They will probably release November-December together (that's what they did last year).

All cardholders are eligible to use them, but I've never gotten anything in the mail. I usually find out about them here on the Dis or on allears, or mousesavers.

I thought only Disney Visa cardmembers are eligible for the Disney Visa discounts?

I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to be looking for...but would love to save some $$$ or get some kind of upgrade with a "code". Do I just watch this board? First time tripper here!!!!

First timer here as well, would love a code for one of the deluxes, or for POFQ

IF there is a Visa code, does your trip have to be booked using the cc to get the code?

I'm sure in this 28 page thread there are the prices listed for what the AP/GP rates were last yr. Does anyone off hand remember what they were?

Just got done scanning all 28 pages and I didn't see if any prices from last yr were listed so I'll see if I can dig up some info from last yr. So we all can get an idea of what codes were released and prices people got last yr.
FWIW the past rounds of discounts that just a came out a few wks ago were the same prices as 2007 so hopefully the next round will follow.

I just went back and looked at my info from last year. We stayed 5 nights, Nov. 25 - 30.

The rack rates were:
Pop Century - $92/night
Coronado Springs - $163

AP rates were:
PC - $65
CS - $118

I rounded all to the nearest dollar for simplicity and all the rates are including tax. (Keep in mind that this was before the system of different rates for different days.) It looks like the discount was approximately 30%

I don't know about the general public rates, but my AP expires in September, so I hope they're pretty close. ;)

Hope this helps a little bit! :thumbsup2

This does help. My family has AP but my DH family are going with us and we need 3 rooms so hopefully I can get them GP code for a mod. so we can all stay there instead of a value.
As of now I have a BB rate of 72$ at the all star sports. And was quoted $118 for a moderate. But my In laws don't want to pay the 163$ at a mod.

Last year we stayed at the Poly Nov. 10-17, Garden View room. I was able to get a general discount code (thanks to a thread on the DIS!) and saved 30% off our room which came out to over $700 for the 6 nights. I'm not sure what the "before" room rate was exactly, but I know it was around $400/night.

I'm really hoping the same discount comes out again this year! (or better? ;) ) That will help ease the pain of them bumping back the Osborne Lights this year....

I apologize if this has been asked and answered already but I can't find it.

Does anyone know if the General Public discount gives a percentage off the room-only or can you get a discount off of a total package price also?
In other words, will the price of the tickets and dining also be reduced or will just the room price be reduced in the package? :confused3

Thanks

Normally they usually give discounts on the room only, or at least that's been my experience in the past.

I know they want to keep their hotels full but I can't imagine them giving general discounts on your entire package. They can afford to discount the rooms because they know if they get you to stay there, you'll spend your money on property instead of offsite (food, shopping, etc.)

Last year we saved $480 on a 6 night stay at CBR. We had a package with dining and park hoppers.

Our discount was on the room only portion of our trip, although we had a package deal with park hoppers and the dining plan. Does that make sense? The discount was applied against our total package price, but the actual savings was based on the cost of the room, not the entire package.
