I accidenttaly posted my new question under the Picture of the Day thread, so I will try again. Still new here, and learning my way around. We just returned from our first Christmas trip on 12/6/06, and were wondering what the crowd levels were the first and second week before thanksgiving. The crowds when we were there, were not bad at all, and we did not run into very many cheerleaders as some have mentioned. Are the decorations up at that time, and does the MVMCP run that early in the month. Also, is the weather as iffy this time of year as it is in December. We would like to be able to enjoy the pools. Any help anyone can give, would be great!!!!!

Thanks :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:

We just returned also on the 23rd, crowds were not as bad as I expected this time of year. I have heard that the week before Thanksgiving were great. The Christmas decorations do not go up until after Thanksgiving though. So I do not know if you were wanting to see that again. I really love going in September or January, because the crowds are really low then. As far as swimming, my kids swam this past trip, but they said it was cold when they got out. We live in Louisiana, so you never know what the weather will be like from Oct to March. It is really a day to day thing, right now it is cold & we are wearing coats, but next week we will probably be in shorts again :goodvibes

thanks Bcsmom,

We stayed at POFQ, and the water was actually very warm. We were only there for three days, and I didn't think it was warm enough outside for my 3 year old to swim. The swimming is not that important, but we have been in May many times, and do not mid the heat, and it is nice to swin for a bit. If the decorations are not up at that time, we will probably just keep the same week. My mom and dad came with us this year, and now they want to make it a family yearly tradition, so before we start planning for next year, just wanted to check it out. Thanks so much for you reply and info!!!!

We were there the week before Thanksgiving in '04, and it was wonderful. Weather was great and the crowds were low. Also, plenty of Christmas decorations were up. Not all, but a lot.

We have also been in November (early) and many of the resort decorations were already up. They start very early in Disney as it takes a long time to complete the decorating. I don't remember the Theme Parks being decorated yet.
We found it warm enough to swim in early November too.
Have fun

We have visited wdw 3 times in November, usually around Veterans day.
The food and Wine festival usually goes until Veterans Day. That's why we go down. It's lots of fun. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/epcot/events/index.htm
There's also Super Soap Weekend and Festival of the Masters.

However, usually Jersey week is sometime in those first couple weeks of Nov. Crowd levels, while manageable, are definitely higher. The days are determined by a 4-5 day school break in NJ because of a teacher's convention (I think) I don't know what next year's Jersey Week is. If you have flexibility, I'suggest you choose Non-jersey week dates.

This year, they started some Christmas stuff the day after Veterans day weekend. (11/13) The Osbourne lights were up and there was a MVMCP. Most of holiday decorations were up, but not all the special events and shows. If you don't go for F&W, and don't mind missing some Christmas stuff, I have read that this is a great time of year to go. After F&W, but before Thanksgiving.

Good luck in your choice.

We were there this November. We arrived on 11/12 and left on 11/19. The crowds were excellent at the beginning of the week. They didn't get heavy until Friday the 17th. This was the weekend before Thanksgiving. Glad we left when we did, because by Sat. the crowds were pretty bad. We have gone 4 times now, always in November. It is our favorite time to go, but it seems like it's a little more crowded each time. The decorations were up when we were there this time. In the past, some of them were up, but not as many as this time. The first MVMCP took place while we were there, though we did not attend. I already have reservations for November 10-17, 2007. Can't wait for it go get here. :yay:
