November 2006 Code/Rate Watch

OK, probably this info is posted elsewhere but what are codes? Is that the same as AP codes? What does that mean? I'm always up to save a little but don't know what this means or how you use codes. If on another thread, just nudge me in the right direction --

Never mind about answering my questions. I should have known to look at the top of the Codes and Rates Forum!!! I got the answers I needed and will be on the lookout for a good deal too now that I know more about it!

PS -- I should have guessed AP meant Annual Passholders -- I am learning a WHOLE NEW LANGUAGE here!

HI all,
We were there last year for Thanksgiving and hope to go again this year just waiting for school calendar.

You might want to check your county's school board website...our puts out the next year's calendar in January of the previous school year.

Last fall (10/23-12/19 +/- I don't remember the exact dates) they offered discounted rooms to the general public (no AP or AAA membership needed) We were at POR for 7 nights with 2 adults and an infant with the dining plan and saved $425. I don't remember what the formula was, but how much you saved depended on what catagory resort you were at and if there were even any packages available at that resort etc.

We will be there 11/2-11/11 to celebrate my husband's 40th!!! This is a man that when i suggested our first trip 14 years ago couldn't understand why i loved WDW so much. Now he is excited to spend his 40th birthday there!! I knew I could turn him into a Disney Freak like me!
