First of all, I just want to say that The DIS is a Godsend,
I'm a total rookie but I'm learning real fast from all the
helpful people who've been answering my ??'s.

We're going to WDW in November (10-19) and we need some
good advice and comparisons from anyone who visited last
November.

It's too early for their hours to be posted online,
but I've looked up the hours from last year, and MK closed early
nearly every day (6 p.m., stayed open one night 'til 8:00).
That doesn't faze us
(traveling w/toddler, plus Epcot and other shopping open later),
but we were disappointed to read that when they close before
8:00 that they usually don't have any parade or the WISH fireworks?
Is that true?

I would be really bummed if DS couldn't see the snowglobe
parade or Tink writing on the sky!

Tell me it ain't so??

:earsboy: WELCOME to the DIS luvthatduke!! :earsboy:

We're so happy you found us!!!::MickeyMo

Don't worry about the times as of yet.You probably won't find the actual times out until Oct.!

Anyway you'll be staying 9 days so you'll be there over a weekend so you SHOULD get to see Wishes and Tink fly.MK usually has fireworks one night of a weekend.

The Share a Dream Come True parade (snowglobes) runs EVERYDAY at 3pm at the MK so you won't be missing it at all!

Here's a link to a cool area of the DIS that has parades, fireworks and hours listed.

So luvthatduke,I'm tellin' ya...it ain't so!!:teeth: ;)

Thank you, Gentle Moderator:wave2:

Love your flag, my DH is a major Titan's fan!

We were in wdw that time frame "03. The original hours only listed the Wishes and the Spectromagic parade as being on Tuesday night , but there were two nights that it ran. They were both also on Sat. night.

Thanks, Jennifer
Would you have anything else to share
about your stay during November?
Just curious...
What did you do at night?

Thanks again!

We were there that exact week last year (9th - 16th), and the Spectromagic Parade was shown 3 times, Tues, Thurs, and Saturday. The Thursday was a late addition to the schedule. The snowglobe parade was every afternoon at 3 pm, and Wishes was shown EVERY night of our trip!

As far as nighttime activities, it depends on where you are staying.

We did Illuminations twice, stayed for Fantasmic one night (got back to the resort around 9 pm), went to the Hoop de Doo Revue one night, and enjoyed the activities at the AKL another evening. Boardwalk, Downtown Disney, and of course, Pleasure Island are all open late as well.

There is always plenty to do at WDW, even when MK is closed. We often schedule a late dinner, and that way, we are back in our rooms for bed by 10 pm or so.

Hey Thanks a million...
Love the pic, looks like you had lots of fun :yo-yo:

They are running wishes every night even in slow season so unless something changes between now and Nov you should be good to go

The weather is usually nice - the days are a touch shorter but still decent

Should still be in the 50's or 60's at night so do not need to pack too much in the way of 3 seasons clothes like Dec or Jan

Great time to go but watch for the Jersey Week crowd ;)

ed. to fix spelling :earseek:

Thanks for the info and tip,
but what does it mean:

but watch fir the Jersey Week crowd ??

Jersey week is the week before your trip. There is a convention on the 5th, & 6th for all teachers in Jersey so alot of Jersey families go to WDW. But that will be over when you go. I am going around the same time as you and I have asked about this week already. So don't worry about that.

As far as I have gathered the parks are empty so earlier hours are actually a pretty good trade-off!!

Jersey Week is not a bad thing - it is just a bump in attendence at WDW

:sunny:

You guys are fantastic!
Thanks for the heads up,
as well as putting my mind at ease.

I'm going New Jersey Week (October 30th - November 7th this year). How "bumped up" is attendance. I always heard this was the best week to go (compared to easter vacation or summer). Is it so crowded that we will need to use Fast Pass? I'm also concerned that we will be going to Micky's not so scary Halloween Party ON the 31st. Any thoughts on this? Thanks. Glad I was recommended to this board!!

Minor bump - nothing at all like national holidays weekends/times

You should only use FP's if the standby line wait is 20-25 minutes or higher OR if you play to stay in the same area for a while

Because to experience a ride with an FP, you have to visit the ride twice - once to get the FP, and once to come back using up time

OR

Get FP's for something like Winnie the Pooh or Peter Pan (check the return times!) and then go on Snow White, It's a Small World, Teacups etc. then go to your FP slot

When we were there in November during Jersey Week and then Super Soap weekend and Rememberance Day, the lines were short, standby times were ok and we used FP's sometimes but they were not a must have

thanks
