evening fellow turkeys :wave2:
we are tucked in tonight as well, off and on flurries with drifting, probably snow only 3-4" though, very chilly wind chills below zero

poor DH -- started his L-O-N-G flight home from a business trip to Australia a few hours ago. it was a high of 90 there:sunny:
youngest DD, Paige, and I were looking at the kids navigator tonight from last year t-day cruise, we only have the 10-12 age group; but hopefully it will give us a taste of what her 8-9 group will do. are you all posting your children's age at time of cruise on the website? she is looking for a girlfriend to occasionally email :chat:to get to know for the cruise. Paige is 8 now and will be almost 9 at cruise time :boat: :boat:

ohMom -

My son will be 9 when we cruise so at least they'll be in the same group!

Kris

Lampy,

I have a blade on my truck, we moved all our cars at the Dealership for the big one, I'm their plow guy too. Also a threat of high tides due to the forming Nor'Easter. We can flood with a strong North East wind. Three inches in 3 hours turn to heavy rain around 4pm. We pushed slush around hoping it does not turn to ice when the back side of the storm brings the snow back.
:space:

I have a favor to ask!

Could we start signing our notes with our "real" names?

I am not going to know who is who when we finally meet in November. If we can start to know each other's names now, we will really be getting to know each other and will be able to communicate better when we are face to face.

For example, if someone's board name is Happy Cruiser and I get to know during these months of waiting that Happy Cruiser is from Arizona and has a husband named Joe and 3 kids - that she loves margaritas and is an avid reader....she's been to Disney World 6 times in the last 2 years...she loves to cook and her specialty is Asian Stir Fry Crab; well, when I finally meet Happy Cruiser and her real name is Jean its almost like I have to get to know her all over again because there is no way I'll be able to connect everyone's board name to their real name and get everyone straight within just one week --

know what I mean?? :earseek:

Kris

Sorry guys, but the devil in me is making me say. . .

Yeah, it was pretty chilly here today too, the high was only 71!
I almost had to put on long pants! :scared1:

Now back to your regularly scheduled winter weather :umbrella:

I am going to go hide before the snowballs start flying. . :duck:

teresa

ps
Bill, are you going on the turkey cruise of '05? :jumping4:

Teresa,

Unfortunatly we will only be there in spirit. I will follow the thread to keep updated.

:jumping1:

That is what our sky looked like today.

Bill

Still snowing here on L.I., just came back in. had to shovel a path, spot for my dog. Refused to go out. Wind is blowing 35 - 50 mph. Temps 15 deg. We have about 15 inches on the ground, drifts in my yrd are about 3 ft. We expect another 6 inches before this blows out of here.

Teresa send some of the sunshine :teleport: :sunny: and warmth this way. How I need a Disney Fix. Hurry up 90 days, go faster.

Ken

another chilly morning in ohio -- we didn't get as much snow as the news called for (do you all that too? weather people make crazy big deal and then we get like a dusting or so) anyhoo -- it's 2 degrees with a wind chill or negative 18, so DDs and I will stay tucked in again today :crowded: Paige has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, and this bitter cold isn't good for her!

kris -- nice to meet you, i'm Molli :) i totally understand what you are saying! we just returned from the WDW 1/2 marathon weekend where we meet several disers fromt the WISH board --- oh my it was very hard to put their face, real name, and username all together. Seeing pictures before we met helped alot, I love that we have a website for this!

kenny -- i felt like a complete idiot shoveling off my yard earlier this week, we don't have much snow (compared to what we had around christmas!); but now we have a minature dachshund pup and his little legs are very tall. he's soooo adorable, but a pup who isn't real sure where to go, definately knows he doesn't prefer standing in snow

have a great Sunday everyone -- please post if you had Palo brunch on thanksgiving and your thoughts on choosing that day! thxs :wave2:

Molli

Hey Bill! I watched the video of Capt. Marvins snorkel trip the other day. I will miss that this year!
You guys are crackin me up with all of the snow talk. I swear, I could never live where it gets that cold! Teresa, you jinxed us with your 71 degree comment. Today it is 30's with 30 mph winds! I will be a turtle today, and only sneak my head out!(Teresa (Silver7)lives only an hour away from me.)

Good idea about the DIS names, real names. When we introduced ourselves at the first DIS meet, everyone was giving their DIS names first. My daughter still thinks that Johns family names is the "5J's." And we did get some looks in Diversions when we hollered "HEY! MOM'S GOOFY!!!"

On the same subject, before we had the 2004 Turkey cruise, we were telling what our DIS name meant. I thought that was interesting. My WMILLER86 is my first name intial, last name, and old football number.
" Number 86 in your program, number one in your heart!"

Willie

My user name, zeke11, is derived from my maiden name (Dziekan, but pronounced Zeekan) and the 11 is for the month of my birthday, November.

Kris :earboy2:

And of course like you can't guess how my user name is derived.

kenny for my first name and K for the first letter of our last name.

Now does everyone that's been posting lately have a copy of the spread sheet and is all the info correct. Since Doogierunner is using it to up date the WEB site which is great "still trying to get my daughter to send a picture of herself"

If you want a copy just send me an email at ken.kerns@verizon.net and I'll shoot it your way as an attachment, It's an excel spread sheet.

SNOW is stopped but it is still windy. The local mall is closed so no work for me today. I was on call up as I'm the closest to the store with an all wheel drive vehicle. But since we are still in a snow emergency, stay off the roads, unless you are an emergency vehicle. If you get stuck, BIG ticket for you. mall stayed closed.

Driveway and vehicles all shoveled out, now I have a wall of snow 5 ft high on the side of my driveway. Sure hope the snow plows don't come back and plow the street again and plow us back in as the road is now plowed about 4 ft from the curb. I hate when that happens.

have a great day everyone and post frequently as that's all I'm doing today is sitting in front of the computer and vegging since I worked my butt off early this morning.

Ken (aka kennyk) :cool1:

Silver 7 is the name my DS who is now 12 registered with when he wanted to chat on the teen boards. Since you can only have one name registered to an email address, here we are.

Snowbirds--Think CC!! Think about floating on a raft in the warm waters----think about the Giant Shrimp you will be consuming before Lampy gets there. . . :earboy2:

teresa

Teresa,

I don't know about Lampy eating all that "shrimp" I guess I will let him have some, on the Easter Bunny cruise we were about 10th in line to board. got there when the port opened. Went straight to Parrot Cay for lunch, BIG plate of shrimp, yum, yum, I think that's all I ate.

So he better get up early and beat me to the port to get some of that shrimp. Well I guess I can be nice and share, especially for another DIS'er.

Ken :cool1:

Hi all. Like seeing how dis names got picked. I picked NeverlandClub because we all refuse to grow up! Young at heart forever. Plus, I love Tinker Bell.

Kenny,
I didn't go to the comic con in NYC. I will be going to the big one in San Diego this year though. Wish we were joining you in SSR this April, but looks like I will be working real hard the next few months. Big doings going on, as Mickey would say on my wake up call each morning on the Magic. Boy, I sure miss that. And Palos. Ahhh, chocolate souffles. Heaven.

Hi everyone! Like Teresa, our debate today was shorts or long pants. I am a Chicagoin by birth, but have been living in Florida basically since age 16. Now I am a wimp when it comes to snow and cold weather!!

Icemanpad= my DH's nickname is Iceman (last name is Eiss) and he is a member of a legal fraternity (PAD). As a result, when he signed us up for DIS he used the same name that he uses for our email address and has been using for many, many years.

Take care,

Chuck, Lisa and Mason

Cold anyone say COLD,

Just came back from a spin around town. Had to go to Church to check on the heat. We've been having problems with the heating system and wanted to make sure it was still running as no church today because of the weather. I'm sure God will understand.

Well the temperature outside reads 15 but I'm sure the windchill makes it in the minus's somewhere. There is blowing snow which causes white out conditions.

Now I remember how rt 80 was in Indiana when I had to get/deliver my son from College there.

Melissa, You should be happy you weren't in NYC this weekend. The wind in that city can be something fierce. "Burrrr"

To bad you can't join us for April, it would be fun. I guess we'll have to wait for either July/August or November to get together again.

Ken

well another day lost to '24' - i'm watching past season on disc, i love that show

ohmom -- well, when i signed up on the dis back in 1999, my DH gave my explicit instructions not to reveal my name, where i live, etc. so i tried a few things, already taken then went with OHMom (for a mom in Ohio) and forgot to capitalize the 'oh' ---- now i'm 'oh-mom' and disers think it's b/c i hear the phrase all day, well that too :)

read a post from a WISH pal - karebear1 -- this past week didn't stop at CC :earseek:

to start cramming in all the things that I said I would do during the weekend and haven't done - yep this thread is at the top of that list.

What I can tell you for sure :
1) yes it is COLD in OH and since I don't ski - I take my weatherman's word for it and stay inside!

2) I am NOT winning the football pool at the office - had to go for the "underdogs" today to stay in the running - well, I'm not in the running!!

3) alreadyecxcitedgrammy - I chose it for the anticipation of a trip with ohMom (Molli's) family to WDW. Molli was a DEPRIVED child (better for the mother to say it than to read it, written by her child, I think I have less guilt that way :earboy2: ) So, you may see it abreviated (AEG) I had NO idea that I would ever be in a chat room and have to spell my name very quickly or I would have picked something wa-a-a-a-y shorter !!! BTW- it fits for the cruise too ;)
