Hi Everyone
Do make your plans for traveling on Friday.
Give your kids the incentive of pulling them out of school a few days early.
It worked for our two girls(my son is another story)they had there assignments completed before the cruise.

Also, traveling a day early is less stress for you, and isn't this the reason for a vacation??? We also told the kids that there is a "NO SICK DAY" policy. That is, if you had a stuffy nose, tuff it out!

So, our trip to WDW for spring break(cheerleading competition- March 23rd) our flights cost 190.00 each. so how can i justify paying double for Turkey week. I do not like "supply and demand" when i am the one demanding!

PORT is 1000miles from Cincinnati, we took two days last time by car, leaving a 5.5 hour drive to the PORT on saturday morning. It was ok, i do prefer flying but $390 x 5 people....that will pay for a few excursions.
Cincinnati is an airport that is monopolized by Delta.
Lamps- let us know when you see flights on sale from indy.

We have a Hoop-dee-doo picture magnet on our refridgerator from 7years ago. Hey everybody, remember when our kids were younger, sigh!
Remember when we were younger...yikes!

Also, a couple of weeks ago i was skiing here, with 16 inchs of the white stuff.
All of you Texas people sent your weather here and now Cincinnati is at flood stage!
I (dare i say it) want it to be colder! This coming week will be in the 50's.

Hey all of the NEWBEE's. welcome and type something for me to read!

John :earboy2:

OK! I'm DONE stressing about air and can now just sit back and count days :cheer2:

I just purchased our tickets - Spirit Air out of O'Hare (I know, but they had the best fares!).

We flew Spirit in September and they were great. I did opt for the Friday flight - oh well, so the kids miss one more day of school :charac2:

But it is true, we will be less stressed. Our fares are $219 r/t each - this is including all taxes, fees, etc. etc. So, its not a bad fare for that holiday week, I don't think.

:cool1:

Now I am SO psyched -- all I need to do now is buy the travel insurance and we're good to go :cloud9:

Kris

OH!

Forgot - I still have to book a hotel for the night!

I'm thinking something in Orlando near the airport. I think there are a lot of cheap choices there, we will be able to take hotel transportation from the airport (usually free provided by the hotel) and then hire a limo/van for transportation to the port.

We used Quicksilver in September and thought they were great! Even though we had prepaid for all of our transportation, they graciously refunded everything when we ended up on the Disney transportation due to the hurricane mess.

Kris

PS - any suggestions for an inexpensive, but decent hotel (suite for 6) in/near Orlando??? :earboy2:

...Momsgoofy......Don't forget to write a "thank you" letter to DCL thanking everyone for what they did for you. When you send it and mention names it DOES get back. A "thank you" goes a long way with DCL.....TRUST ME!!!

Ron,

I believe you that a thank you goes along way and that was the first thing I did after we arrived back home...while I was doing the gazillion loads of laundry! I received a nice reply from the boss who forwarded the words of appreciation to Michelle and put into her file. After what you told me on the ship about your "girlfriend" I knew she had to be an awesome CM. If you happen to chat with her on your quest to find out those bits of priveleged information like you did for our Turkey Cruise 2004, please tell her a big howdy from me...the poor family stranded in Evansville, IN trying to get to the ship via Charlotte, NC.

Hey, BTW, the bar and grill near my house just added a nice big Miller LIte sign to their beer garden fence...I almost went back to those Bon Jovi days and thought about swiping it for ya...but then I remembered Nic was in the car with me. What a bad influence I'd be as a mom...

In case any of the T-day 05 cruisers who live up NORTH aren't doing anything on February 11th and you're a Disney Stock holder. The annual meeting is being held this year in Minneapolis at their convention center.

BURRRRR.

Zeke11,

We've stayed at the Radisson at the port as well as Hampton Inn, and a few Sheratons the night before. I normally book one night stays through Priceline and rent a car. With 6 of you it might be easier to get a limo, which we've also did our first cruise. Since we usually get in late, the way I look at it, we only need a place to crash the night before, not a spa. That comes the next day :Pinkbounc .

Glad to hear you snagged your air for Friday. You'll be less stressed :cloud9: .
You're from Chicago? I've run the Chi Marathon a few times. It's my favorite... next to WDW Marathon of course. I'm vowing this year to get back in to shape (aren't we all John?). I was 20lbs over my racing weight when I got on the scale Dec 1st after T-day. :guilty:

Doogie
I have seen you!
If you lose 20lbs and turn sideways you will disappear
No wonder why you go on the cruises, you need to "fatten up" after running so many miles in the year :earboy2:

It is fun talking about the cruise with all, but i am getting ready for 6 days in Orlando/WDW in March. Play some golf, ride some rides, and embarrass my kids when i see Mickey :earboy2:

John :earboy2:

Kris, that's a good price. You might be able to save 20 bucks or so with a special later but it could also be more.....good job IMHO. Also, IMHO.....I would stay at a WDW resort.....transfers are good from airport to WDW to port and back to the Airport! What time is your flight?

John, I'll keep an eye on ATA. How far are ya from Indy? We stayed at the Adamsmark hotel on Thursday night and probably will do that again.......

Rumor mill........Grand Cayman will be discontinued by DCL once an alternate port is negotiated out for the next 18 months or so.......if you haven't booked a Western for the next 18 months and plan on going BOOK NOW!!! The price WILL go up to cover the "dual port charges".

Lamps
2 hours from House to Indy airport parking lot
Yes, let us know what you find.
:earboy2:

Lampskies -

The transfers that you speak of -- are those the Disney transfers?

There he goes again! Talking to his girlfriend!

You turkeys and bunnies have a great source of information with this guy! He was keeping us up on all the ins and outs about Grand Cayman last Turkey Cruise because it wasn't certain if we'd stop there or not. Ron was right, we did!

Have a magical weekend ya'll!!

Kris, Yes I speak of Disney transfers. I have heard some "horror stories" about non-DCL transfers. The Swan and Dolphin run 99.00 a night specials (although I don't reccomond those hotel....non Disney) If you want to be first to the ship you have to stay somewhere at the boardwalk. I believe we got to port at around 1:15 and there were NO LINES thru security....

But by then there were no shrimp left, because Willie and I had already been there for awhile :earboy2:

Teresa,
I see why you guys flew out of New Orleans last time. Just saw tickets nonstop for $179 RT. Why the heck is Houston $100 more?
We are 4+ hours from NO and 1+ from Houston. So, I will still keep watching Continental, and waiting for Southwest to open fares.

We are going over Friday to our friends to talk about them cruising with us Turkey Day 2005. They are really looking at coming. Their name is the Manleys. They have DD14, DS 10, DD11.

Kris,

If you want to be first... rent a car and drive to Avis and ride their shuttle.

I second Willies BBUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRPP. We were on the ship by noon.

John,
Yes, I'm trying to lose ###s. If I turn sideways, you'll see me, but you might not see me when I run...fast :). In the past, I've done some running, Dec 1st I was 20lbs over what I race at :charac2: . I'm hoping to get back into form by next fall, we'll see. A few years ago I had gotten quick enough I was getting some seedings in large races... I was seeded for WDW Marathon last year but got injured. While I was hurt I decided that food and beer tasted great!!!!

Take care guys.

Doogie......... Tasted Great?......I though it was "less filling" hey matbe we should make a commercial......LOL
Silver.....good thing I had warned my "girlfriend" about you and Willie and she was able to hide some of those jumbos behind the buffett for me!!! LOL

On the Easter cruise we stayed at the Hyatt and rented from Budget. Was at the port at opening, third car in line. Dropped wife, and children off with lugggage and Id's and then off to Budget to return car. Was back at port within 20 minutes. By that time wife had checked in and was in line. Approximately 15th. Just had to walk to CM and show my ID and she handed me my KTTW card.

Then it was meet and greet with all the DIS'ers.

We boarded at about 12:15 and went straight to Parrot Key and had all those fan tails for ourselves.
