Hi there Kenny K and other 11/19/05 cruisers.

I'm trying to keep this thead afloat (yes, pun intended!:D ) too.

A DISboarder named SandraLee posted a day or two ago saying she'd just booked this cruise, was very excited, and wanted to know if others had booked as well. I answered, and invited her to join us on this thread. (Don't know if she's found us yet.)

Yes, Yes, Yes ... I am here.

I am booked for this Thanksgiving cruise, but we are not sure if we are *really* going. I am also booked for the May Repo cruise. If we final payment on the Repo cruise, I won't be able to do the Thanksgiving cruise. It will be one or the other.

My DH wants the Repo cruise, (so do I), but if it doesn't work out, we'll be on this one for Thanksgiving.

I have DS9 and DD5 and have been on 2 other Disney cruises... Can't wait to go back!

Hi SandraLee:wave2:

It will be great if you can join us one this one! I can understand, however, about the repo cruise. (Our family would LOVE to do it, but my DH can't secure that much vacation time in one stretch. We'll settle for a two-stop at CC though!:D )

Thanks Mickeyhugger and Welcome SandraLee,

We have a great bunch of Dis'ers booked for this cruise and with two days at CC what couldn't be better.

Mickeyhugger, thanks for keeping the thread going. I've been "REAL" busy lately, this is my busy time of year at work and haven't been watching lately.

SandraLee, Hope it works out and you can join us but that's being selfish, that REPO cruise would be great to go on. Family would never be able to get off all those days in a row.

Welcome again

Have a great summer.

Hi Melissa,

Welcome back to the REAL world. The boards have been quiet lately. I added on my daughter and grandson the other day so we're all set for the Thanksgiving cruise. Can't wait for our VAC at the end of August. Work has been bruttal, but then again, it always is during the summer. That's why I don't go away then.

Anyway, My grandson leaves Sunday for two weeks to California, with the "People-to-People" program. They'll be visiting Yosmite National Park, San Fransico, and other places in California.

Talk to you soon, and again welcome back.

Ken

Wow, Kenny. That sounds like a great trip for your grandson. Hey, you're almost at the 50 day mark. Hope you will have a great time in WDW. I have to start planning next summers trip in a month, you know how DVC works with your home resort. We will be at our Boardwalk and I want to be sure I get my Boardwalk view. Haven't had one in like 5 years. Ugh.
Enjoy your summer and don't work too hard.

Thanks Melissa,

We're still not decided on 2005 Vacations yet except the cruise. We're tossing around Hilton Head for Easter, and WDW for sometime in April for Flower and Garden Show. Then of course I'd really like to take a short cruise in the Winter months, sometime in January, but no decisions as of yet. Have until Sept to decide when the 7 month window comes up.

Talk to you soon, going out to do yard work, Going to a Hall & Oats concert tonight. The Radio Station I work for is hosting it and will be having a party under the "Tent". The concert is at the local state beach ("Jones Beach") and it has an amphitheater which seats 13,000 people. Clear Channel Entertainment runs the theater and our Radio station is owned by Clear Channel.

By for now.

Ken

I guess I'll bump this cruise up to page 1. There has to be more takers for the 2005 Thanksgiving Western Magic cruise with 2 days at Castaway Cay.

Come and join us for a fun filled cruise with a bunch of great DIS'ers.

Kennyk:wave:

Count us in too!!

This will be our 3rd cruise. Having cruised first on a Thanksgiving cruise back in November of 2001.

Cruising will be me, DH, DS(17), DD(14). We are hoping for two rooms Cat 8/Cat 11.

We can't book until December.

Bump to page 1 and Hello to all!

I can't wait for this cruise. I will get to visit the Magic for the special 4 day cruise in January, but it won't be the same without my ol cruising buddies.
I hope we get some more takers for this cruise! The more the merrier!

wow -- 2 days at CC!! sounds heavenly! we are thinking of booking for next year and originally planned June/July b/c we went Dec 2003 and it was so cold swimming at CC. this is my concern -- how chilly will it be do you think? We were there mid-December

Hi! We are not technically booked yet, but we have decided to do the Nov 19, 2005 too! I emailed DU and Mouseears tonight to get quotes and barring anything unforeseen, we should be officially booked in a week or two! Yeah!
It's me-Michelle, dh-Derek, ds 12, dds-11 and dd-6 (That's their ages at sailing). It looks like there are a couple of other boys that age in this group, I would love for them to be able to "meet" some friends online before we go!
We've been on the 4 day Wonder once but this is our first seven day and I am so excited about 2 CCdays! Does anyone know if the ship is already decorated for the holidays and if there are any special activities? Sorry about the rambling, I'm just so excited!

Welcome Goofyshell, ohMom, & dvcmomdeh

Welcome all to the Thanksgiving 2005 Magical cruise with two days at Castaway Cay. Anyway to answer some of your questions.

I have not sailed in November yet but have sailed in January and Feburary and the water seemed warm enough to me, and I like warm water. With water temps in the NE in the 70's, and my pooling staying about 78 -80 the water at CC is just right.

Anyway. As far as decorations. I have read other postings that the ship has been decorated already for the holiday season.

So only time will tell.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. As time gets closer we will develop a group list with info on names email address, ages of sailors, how many cruises been on before. which dining seating, cabin #'s etc. When it gets to the very end we'll come up with a place to meet and get to know each other.

Till then, WELCOME ABOARD>

change my status from considering to booking!!!!!

i asked DH last night "when can I ask if we are putting a deposit down or not??" (i tend to drive him nutso trip planning; even in the trip considering stage) and his response was "I didn't think it was a matter of that anymore, I thought we decided on that already; but rather which TA we are booking through" WOOO HOOO!!!!!!!!

Ohmom,

So I guess it's welcome aboard. You will have an awesome cruise.

If there is any questions you need with planning the trip, feel free to ask here or on the regular boards.

Have you ever thought about booking and handing all the arrangements yourself instead of a TA. It's quite easy.

Kennyk

KennyK -- thanks for the welcome -- for the cruise it will be me and DH and DDs ages 13 and 8 almost 9 at cruise date.

we are soooooo excited! I guess I book through TA for the convenience of letting them watch for additional discounts and/or possible stateroom credits etc that can be applied. I booked through platinum travel and I really like having Barb available for opinions and input with her vast knowledge of the ins and outs of DCL.

this is our first 7 day so i'm sure i'll have many questions! i LOVE to trip plan and i'm going to have to pace myself :) LOL

do we not get the mexicali... night due to thanksgiving? which theme do we lose I wonder?

I did book REAS and am very excited for that! i'm already reading up on dining rotations, etc. I'm thinking I want to be in Lumeire's for turkey day, anyone have a thought on that yet?

pace myself..............

Your Welcome "Ohmom"

As far as dining for Thanksgiving, if it's anything like Easter, they kept the same special nite but added additional specials because of the Holiday. I would think they would probably do the same.

As far as a TA, I would also say Barb is probably one of the best, if not the best with all her knowledge of cruising with DCL.

We'll be traveling with myself, Wife Mary, daughter Cindy, and Grandson Alex (12) at time of sailing.

Good luck on the planning, we do have allot of time.

Kennyk

Oops! Seems I posted a little too early (I was just so excited!) We ended up putting a deposit down on the 12-17-05 Western. It was $2000 cheaper, so it was a pretty easy decision.
I hope you all have a wonderful cruise and please leave the ship in good shape for us!

Goofyshell,

That's ok, I think we all understand the value of the $$$.

Anyway, the ship will definitely be decked out in all it's holiday attire.

Have a great trip and we'll make sure we leave the light on for you.

Kennyk
