What's the possibility of having a contest - you have to go to the DISers cabins and get them to sign the spreadsheet. The person with the least signatures gets Lampskies' bar bill. :earseek:

A kind of variation of "tag," but you have to actually meet the people. I know that sounds difficult for this reclusive group. :snooty:

Speaking of games, who is the games director?

Paul Goofyhouk

Paul-The 5 j's are the director of "Turkey Day Tag". When you get tagged, the instructions will be on the back of tag. The list that Ken made, will work out very well for tagging. Just make sure no one sees you tagging someone.

Only 4 more wakeups until boarding. :bounce:

Ken - great idea about signing the t-shirts. How about signing Doogies' red speedo? :earseek:

Okay, now that it is 3 days until we leave..... Some questions

1. People who bring "beverages" on board in carry ons- what type of carry on holds 2 cases of beer?????? ( I guess I am in the "stow under seat or in overhead compartment" thinking.. We are driving, so it doesn't matter.) Isn't that heavy? Can you use a collapsible rolling cooler as a carryon????

2.. On the serious side, that carry on ques pertains to DH. SInce I will be carrying "necessities" in my carry on, what are the size requirements for carryons? Can a rolling duffle be considered a carry on? I just don't want to get too loaded up if we have to tote it around all afternoon.

3. Is it to much to ask DS and DD to carry a back pack on board? I don't want to be the mean mom......

4 When they say 2 checked bags per passenger, basically we can bring 8 suitcases of any size (for 4 people)? I plan on filling one with the "stuff"- pirate gear, etc...

5. Green Shirts- we wear them at the terminal, then at the sail away party? Is that correct???

6. ladies- do they have a pretty good selection of bathing suits on board? I never got around to getting a new second one, not sure if I have time to drive 50 miles away to the nearest place around here where I can get one before we go....

7. On pirate night, do adult usually wear their stuff to dinner or change later??? Is everyone dressing up in some form? How about kids?? I don't want to get this stuff together for DS 8 and then have him say- I'm not wearing that- noone sle is dressed up.....

8. Grand Cayman- Has anyone ever done Atlantis submarine excursion?

Anything you can answer will be helpful!!!!! Thanks, Pam

I just realized that there are some among us who might misinterpret my comment above. Let me define " too loaded up" as used in this sentence as meaning "making my carry on too weighty" as opposed to me getting "too loaded up" on booze.... Pam :)

Quit begging!

I made a list of everyone's screen name along with their real names (no last names mentioned) and their hometown.

Does anyone have any objection to posting it? Shall I just email it to those who request, perhaps?

This will make a very handy cheat sheet.

Love,
Kris
:dog2:

We'd love a copy of the list & don't mind you posting it...if everyone's cool w/ that, it would be faster for you.
Thanks!

Pam, I never have done submarine, but never heard anything like GREAT...if it was me, I wouldn't go...but on the other hand, I might be wrong. Sorry not much help there....but about the tshirt....yes, wear it when you get there and when we do the sail away party...the pirate night, my girls are dressing up and we may wear a tshirt with something on it with our bandanas.

Do they have size requirement?I wasn't aware of one.I would call DCL if no one has an answer to this one.

I would just have them carry some stuff of theirs in their backpacks. You won't be the mean Mom.NEVER!

Yes,this is correct!

We will be going back to room, and changing into our pirate t-shirts.We aren't going to elaborate on this one.I haven't had a chance to get stuff together.I have been busy studying for test tomorrow, homework, class, and etc.

Pam -- not quite the expert as many here but i'll try a few

bathing suits -- think hotel gift shop. they will be there and be pricey. i'm not sure of how many

carrying drinks on -- ok -- i just have to let my cat out of the bag :) then i'll be the 'mean mom' not you for making your kids carry a backpack! (my DD 13 is in charge of one carryon tote bag) we were able to get a loaner wheelchair for my youngest DD (she has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis affecting her knees and ankles alot this year) - so i'll be 'wheeling' on our cases of water and alcohol with Paige walking on beside her ride! :rolleyes1

ok ok ok - if she needs a lift she'll have first dibs

i remember on our 4 day cruise literally have pop/water/wine in grocery bags and they tagged them and took them with our luggage. i don't think i'll try that again -- we are packing an empty suitcase for souvenirs, etc so we can always put our bottles in that and send through luggage

yes you will have to carry with you around whatever you carry on until your stateroom is ready

my DD almost 9 is wearing a full pirate costume - from Joann's

In our neighborhhod, we do a "phantom" tag thing at Halloween and leave a plastic pumpkin full of goodies on porches. So in turkey tag, do you leave a raw turkey?? :rotfl: Pam

The intellicast path for #27 has the storm tracking a bit north once it approaches Central America. GC is now in the "yellow" zone. Don't know what everyone else thinks... but an Eastern would be just fine with me!!! As long as we get that double dip on CC :cool1: .

Pam-

Isn't this board great? Ask your questions, and your new friends are here to help you out.

I see an obvious answer to your first question suggested in your third question. Sometimes it just takes a third party to look at your situation to help you solve your problems.

I'm thinking that a child could easily carry a backpack with 24 beers in it. That is such a great idea, thank you for suggesting it! :rotfl2:

Here is a turkey recipe that I am going to try before I leave for my dear parents and brother who are telling me Thanksgiving won't be the same without me cooking!

For all you chefs out there!!

Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing -imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try.

10-12 lb. Turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 bag stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT) Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven. Listen for the popping
sounds. When the turkey's *** blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it's done.

And you thought I couldn't cook...

Hey, how did you get Mrs. TCD's recipe?

Why do you think we are going on a cruise for Thanksgiving?

JK-No need to mention this to Mrs. TCD. Thanks.

Andrew-Back in June 2002, we stayed on the first deck and it really isn't bad at all...as long as you have the two portholes. We could still see above water..it never went below. Believe it or not, I slept very well with the boat humming...

Julia ::MinnieMo

We stayed on Deck 0ne on our Wonder cruise last year. It was fun having the portholes under the water. Like being on a submarine. Also, if you get started early enough, you can get the potatoes peeled and the other chores done in time to get out on deck before sunset. Got to love that fresh sea air after being down below deck all day.

At least you can see your porthole. They hid ours behind a mirror. :rotfl2:

Paul- Be careful. That is not a mirror. It is an observation window. They broadcast the newbies cabins on the TV's.

Paul,

That contest sounds great but instead of the spread sheet, we should sign each others DIS tee-shirt or something of the kind for the ones that didn't get a chance to get one. Now that would be a keeper and a conversation piece besides. I'm packing a "sharpie" for the purpose.

Ken

And as far as missing or incorrect info. Don't shoot the messenger. :confused3

If you see something wrong, just post the correction here as the updates are closed.

I still have to finish packing, finding everything I want to bring ???? :confused3 And I have to work today and Wednesday and Wednesday night at the Disney Store. I get to start my Disney celebtation early

Have a magical day :wizard: everyone.

KK :cool1:

Ken- I like your idea about signing the shirts-that will be fun!

For whatever reason, I did not get a copy of the revised spread sheet last night. If you get a chance, please send me one. Thanks for your work on that project, it will be a real help on the cruise.

I will now know which cabin to charge the drinks to.
