M ygoal is to be at 3000 posts and get this thread into the 4000's....Anyone remember their "bar bill" from last year.....I think I won!!!

Ron- If you want to win this year's contest for the largest bar bill, I am sure that there are a few of us who would be happy to help! :drinking1 Maybe you could have them print up some extra Key to the World Cards for your account, and we could just use those! :rotfl2:

Won't be long till we're doing the single digit dance -- can't believe it!

It seems so long ago that I booked this cruise. I know many of you booked while onboard last Thanksgiving -- but I'm curious how long we've all been anticipating this cruise!

To further our efforts to reach post #4000, everyone here post the date that they made their ressie for this Turkey Day Cruise!

I'll start:

I don't recall the exact day, but I booked in early December of 2004, so have been waiting *almost* a year!

Kris- We booked while aboard the four night Wonder that ended on Thanksgiving morning last year, 2004, so we have been waiting a year too! It really seems to have come a lot faster than we thought!

There is a simple way to keep door signs on and cooler full of ice...........tip the room steward on the first day and tell him/her what you want.....a simple 20 on the first day goes a LONG way!!

I have a couple questions... about the ice.... do you bring some of your own beer onboard? I know it's allowed, just wondered if alot of people do it. Would be nice to enjoy a cold "free" beer in the room!!!

Has anyone ever done any of the submarine excursions in GC? I'm thinking of booking through Atlantis Adventures, but have heard or read form some sources that the one that goes all the way under is not all it's cracked up to be.....

Got signed up for Tequila Beach excursion, actually through email. Had a question about min age for horse back rides. They emailed me with the answer, and told me to let them know the details of what I wanted and they would book it. SO that was easy. That one thing that did bum me out was that the horse back riding desc. said that you got to enjoy the services offered a the Beach club for no extra charge, but evidently that did not include the bar!!!!! SO I had thought that for $35 DH got party AND horse back ride- wrong........ Oh well.......... Erased one more set of mickey ears off the window today 11 Left!!!!!!!! Pam

I appreciate the offer Andrew.... :rotfl2: No matter what we do the daily bill semms to be 300.00 a day....every year for the last 4......
Hey, who again is staying at the Boardswalk by BC and The Swan and Dolphin?

I bring 2 cases on boards in my "carry on" piece of luggage with wheels. I have a collapsable cooler that holds about 12 cans....the room fridge holds about the same. Tip the room steward up front and he put ziplock bags of ice in the mini fridge and dumped the water and refilled with fresh ice every time he was in our room.........

Oh ya Pam, that "carry on" piece of luggage (when I empty it :drinking1 ) works GREAT for bringing back breakable souvies.....

O.K. guys....going to do my "Walmart run" Wednesday....5th sailing and here are a few necessities that I have learned to bring.....

1) Underwater disposable camers.....you can never bring enough...this time of the year I can usually get the Fuji for 6.99 a twin pack......

2) STAMPS!!!!

3) Mini shaving cream, tooth paste, and other toiletries......I just toss them Saturday morning, just makes a mess trying to bring them home open.....

4) Ziplocks......for the room steward to pack Ice and for suntan oil in bags on excursions.......

any other "little things" anyone can remember?

We originally booked in July 2004 for a cruise in March, 2005 but rescheduled in Jan for this.... SO actually have been waiting about 16 months!!!!!!

Thanks for the info, Ron!!!!! do you bring cans or bottles?

Pam

It just occurred to me- isn't there something a little twisted about watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, where people in NY are freezing their butts off while I am relaxing poolside, sipping a cold beer?? Oh wait, it will be before noon, make that a bloody mary..... Pam

I'm Mary (wife of KennyK) - I lurk and read.

We booked the Easter before last - Talk about waiting a LOOONNNGG Time.

Can't wait - I'm excited and PAnicky all at once. So many details.

Don't forget to bringan over the door shoe hanger. All those compartments are great for the personal bathroom stuff. Each person gets a compartment or two.
Keeps the clutter out of the bathroom.

I cruise for the relaxation. I bring a couple of books and some needlework for during the day. That way I rest up for all the Evening activities.

I am so looking forward to dinner time. It should be fun. In the past we have had good times at dinner. we have been very fortunate with tablemates and servers. Even had our server pushe tables together because we were talking to surrounding tables too. So she just made us all one happy group.

Well gotta go - They want me to dod some work here - Imagine that.

Cans..... DCL has "issues" with bottles on the beach and around the deck (broken glass) Had to tip extra to get a corona (in the bottle) on CC for our neighbor. If you don't have a relative or rental car, or drive etc. there is a "general store" on the boardswalk that sells my miller lite for 1.25 a can......I have an uncle that live in Orlando and usually meets us for dinner and brings me some "refreshments" but last year I purchased at that store.....

Welcome Gina- I am the t-shirt guy. On Saturday, Nov. 5th I shipped out the second batch of our cool lime green t-shirts. In two orders, we have over 98 t-shirts. I am willing to try to place another order. To do so, we will need a minimum order of 12 shirts. The owners of the shop are friends of my DW (from High School, so not real close friends), and gave me a good price on the first two orders. The cost for the first two orders came out to $6.00 per shirt. I can't promise that they will give such a low price on a smaller order, but it probably would not be more than a couple of dollars more per shirt. If anyone is interested in ordering shirts, go ahead and post on this thread, if we have enough interest to come up with 12 more shirts, I will place the order. I am not sure if there will be enough time to ship these, but I can bring them to the port if there is not enough time. If you are interested, please post in the next two days. I would probably need to place the order by Thursday.

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

Hi Andrew,

I would love to get the shirts!! I don't care if they cost more but I just need 2 so let me know if you can get them and I will get the money to you and let you know the sizes.

:rotfl2: @ Pam.....don't remember the "cold" on Thanksgiving......this will be our 4th year in a row on a DCL vacation!!!

New rules for you Pam.....Bloody Marys are for before 9......miller lites are o.k. anytime after that!! Right 5 O'clocksomewhere? I love that screen name!!

Hi ALL,

I called DCL this morning and asked about the door sign issue. The Rep did not have the answer so got my number and said she would find out. Just got the call from a supervisor who personally called the ship to inquire. They told her if was fine, and they unofficially encourage the idea. She said the only time they take them down is if they are "offensive"...So hopefully they are still a go.. See you soon.............

I read somewhere that somebody used a vinyl placemat for their doorsign...cut it into the shape of a Mickey head and stuck adhesive magnets on the back.....then just wrote on it with marker. They also attached a dry erase marker to the door and it served as a nice little noteboard.

Here's the question (you knew there was one, right??):

I've looked at K-Mart, Wal-mart and Target for plain, bright colored placemats with no luck! Anyone have any clue where one might be found?

:confused3

Thanks, Gina for checking this out. You know we hard headed Texans won't give up our guns, or our door signs!

Heart - Laura: Our plane gets in around 2:50 p.m. I don't know if we can make it to Downtown Disney by 4:30 p.m. It usually takes an hour to get our luggage (I always over pack), so my crew will have to go to a later one.

We scheduled our cruise around August 9 of this year. We are a family of indecision when it comes to trips.

Lampy - was that JUST the bar tab? Geeze.

We are planning on arriving around 10:30ish at the Magic, has anyone heard anything else about boarding procedures?

I am really looking forward to meeting all of you.
