We were not home when they came, but our neighbor was outside and signed for them. They did come UPS, and the driver has delivered in our neighborhood for years so it was no big deal for our neighbor to sign. We booked onboard and transferred our ressie to DU. My brother in law (lives in Illinois also) is going as well, and they booked through Costco and they have not received their docs yet.
Bill

Wow - our docs should be here any day now -- I'm in Illinois and booked with All Seasons -- no sign of them yet!

BUT -- we finall received our Shoreside Survival Kits -- SIX of them - one for each of us!

Each package contained a cd with music and screensavers. Did anyone else get one? It seems like a bunch of these were mailed lately since a lot of people on the board mentioned receiving them.

I'm so psyched about the docs being almost here -- just can't believe it is actually that close!!!

All of you from the midwest....how did you do on plane tix? Just wondering because I purchased ours last January! We are leaving out of O'Hare.

Kris

Kris what is a shoreside survival kit? We booked from Minneapollis through Charlotte to Orlando on US Airways and I think it was around $325 each.

Hi Tana -

You're supposed to receive a Shoreside Survival Kit after you have cruised on DCL. We cruised last September and it took this long to finally receive ours!

Kris

Our docs came UPS for those who were asking.

We're coming in Friday morning, planning to go explore Cape Canaveral (kids idea). Staying at the Hampton Inn. We stayed at the Radisson in May 2003 but the prices went way up and only the smaller rooms were left. We're paying $99 with free hot breakfast and across the street from the beach. Renting a car with Budget and will drop off in the morning. I think it's also next to Publix for a beverage run :)

There is a thread going about the magnetic signs and some woman customized them for Christmas and Thanksgiving. They are great! Wishing I had a color printer too.

Doing the doc dance here as well. They arrived yesterday afternoon. So excited. I wish we had gotten Shoreside Survival stuff, I even called once to try to get it but no luck. I would love to have the CD. Anyway, can't believe it is so close. We leave 3 days early for some time in the Mouse House. Unreal how close it is. Got to get my doorsigns and our family shirts done. DS made a great pic I want to use for ours.
Let the dancing begin

2 x in one day for me that is pretty good! Actually, I wanted to walk at lunch and it's still raining - so I came across the street to jr college thinking I get lunch and whoa right before my eyes there was a computer open! What this really means is that I am NOT suppose to be "sneaking" into the cafeteria but I am to be eating the healthy cottage cheese, cucumbers, etc that I brought from home! :rotfl: ....and surely if I eat a healthy lunch I get a little glass of vino tonight :teeth: :teeth:

I was thinking for those of you who mention no color printer - you might be able to make your sign - save to disk and just zip out to a local copy making(Fedex-Kinko's) /camera store/Walmart, etc. place and have it printed. Just a thought.

Julia- hooray that you may have a flight! 2 hour drive sure beats ALL THE WAY to/from FL after you have been "veggin" for a week!

A I remember our flights (out of Dayton) about $212 - got them awhile ago, but I am thinking that it was about that price and thought it was good considering return is the holiday weekend.

I'm telling you I have the "government worker" Fridayitis today and I am even leaving early .........

Julia,
We are flying down Thursday night and staying at Hard Rock Hotel two nights. Doing Universal/Islands of Adventure Friday.
Then catching a limo to the port.

Willie

Julia,
You guys are too much. Today your box arrived. I am eating the cookies as I type this. Please tell Jenna and Jess that they are delicious! I swear that this is the first fresh baked anything I have eaten in a month! And I love the hats. You will see me wearing mine at the port. The girls will be so excited when I bring them their gifts.
Your gifts and thoughtfulness are appreciated so very much. I would be lying, if I said that things have not been stressful here since the storm. These "care packages" that you and Molli sent have really put a smile on some faces around here.
I only hope I have the will power to save some of these cookies for the girls for after school! :teeth: Nah, probably not!

I have said a hundred times that this will be the BEST cruise of the year. That is because it will be carrying the best PASSENGERS in the world!

Who did you call about the SSK (Shoreside Survival Kit)? If your Docs come via a TA should the SSK come from them too?

Hey Willie :goodvibes You are very welcome. We just can't wait to see you all there...but I wish we could take a few more days off to spend in Universal and/or DW. Those cookies, now, now...you got to share

Wow, seems that everyday, someone is getting their DOCS. I'm praying really hard... :earsboy:

Julia

:rolleyes1 Still no doc dance in Pennsylvania!!!

Anyone get theirs today??? OR anyone else NOT!

NO UPS on the weekends SOOOOOO... it'd be nice to get excited for someone else!!!

Sherri :Pinkbounc

Hey Buddy Bear,
I called DCL directly. Took forever to get someone who even knew what I was referring to. They said they would try to get me one, but never came. Nearly a year now, so I don't think its coming. Maybe somebody will sell me one. Or maybe I can ask concierge on the boat if they can arrange it, I never ask for anything so this would give me something.
At least I have the docs.Feels so good to look at the box and I love the new way they are packaged. Much easier to keep track of.
Its so close I can almost taste my Bahama Mama drink of the day. And man, do I miss Palos. I am a certified Palos junkie and I need a fix. :bounce:

I have never taken underwater photos. Has anyone used the disposable underwater cameras and if so, how are they?

Any brand preference?

Sherri

sherri -- yes we did underwater cameras and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of pics -- i believe it was kodak but i'd have to look at the actual cameras in store to be sure. i plan on buying a couple for CC and stingray city, you can always use them up as regular disposable cameras if you have pics left --- check out my scrapbooked album link in my signature to see examples of ours

molli

Hi everyone!! Tomorrow Our Ds Mason turns 6. He is sooo excited!! Thank you for the birthday wishes. His party is sunday---I need to put his "goody bags" together!!

Julia and Molli-it was sooo sweet of you to send care packages to Willie and his family!!

Maria--we have not rec'd our docs yet either. What's the deal?? Why does it take so long to mail something from Florida to Florida??? Hopefully we will be able to join in the doc dance very soon!!!

Have a great weekend!! I believe that 5 weeks from tomorrow we will all be enjoying the Disney Magic!!! :wizard:

Lisa

Hi Lisa- Boy oh boy, Mason turning 6. Just tell him not grow too fast...they are so cute when they are little. About the DOCS, you would think you should receive yours earlier...I think they are playing games with us. :teeth: I wonder if they go in order by how people reserved while on ship last year or do they go by each floor?!!!!! hhmmm...I do like to know, just curious. :confused3

Sherri, it is the Kodak we used and they do pretty good. Just make sure you get a few or more in your area, because it's more expensive on ship.

I'm thinking of a different dress this year. I went out with my two friends for lunch one day and we stop in a cute independent dress store. These dresses are a bit pricey but made very well and made by some fashion designer...so I had to try on this one dress and my friends wanted me to buy it!!! No way, I said...I'm not paying 350. for it...but it did look gorgeous, so now they are trying to get my DH to buy it, umpf...yeah right?

Do you think DOCS deliver on SATURDAYS????

Julia ::MinnieMo

Molli & Julia,

Thanks for the camera info! Molli, I looked at your pics and they do look good! That is good to know I was wondering if it was a waste... and a disappointment!

I'm thinking no docs tomorrow - no UPS service :(

Since it is our first cruise of course I didn't book on board :)

I booked 6/04 through DCL, am on the northern east coast, on deck 7, last name starts with a B.... :rotfl:

who can say :confused3

I just know I don't have mine!! boo hoo!

Julia, I have 3 new dresses and 1 that I think might still be coming... the total of all 3 that I do have is less than $150... but they were on sale and I think very nice... now to decide which ones to bring!! My fam and I are at odds over the choices... they all like the one that is my least favorite... perhaps because they can see the back of me and I can't? :rotfl2:

Sherri

Ok Sherri, it's time for me to go out and see if I can find dresses with big sales. You did a great job for the money...hmmm...you got me thinking :scratchin

Well, I guess I better get to bed...I'm tired :faint:

Julia ::MinnieMo

Walmart has an inexpensive reusable underwater camera, $14 about, comes with film, has batteries, flash and autowind. It has a flip up viewfinder for when you have a mask on.
I only could not get a picture of the grouper as I was shaking to hard. :scared1:

I will loan it out if someone smuggles me on the ship! :rotfl2:

Family and baby Zach are doing well, although likes to sleep other than PM :headache:
