We all have passports, including my grandson who is 12. We find it easier to use them when traveling.

We all got passports before the cruise last year. One of the malls near us has a US Govt passport office. They took the pictures and filled out the paperwork there. We received the passports in approx 2-3 weeks.

Thanks all for responding! I think I'll skip for now and feel better knowing I'm not the only one!!! I think they are like $88 a piece... that's a nice chunka for 4 people!

We have passports due to the fact that we went to Germany a couple years back to visit dh brother who was stationed there.

Sherri,

Sorry I didn't reply earlier in the week while I was out in your neck of the woods :confused3 . I was in Wilmington, not Philly.... but close enough. Flew in Tues; out Fri and worked my tail off while I was there (Lampy hours). I'm sure I'll be out several more times before the cruise. I've been able to venture out on some runs and see the countryside. Beautiful country... I haven't had time to catch a b-ball game or do anything "fun" on my visits.

Didn't you mention you have kids 10 & 12?

Gang, it looks like the web site was deleted by my ISP. I'll find somewhere else to post later this week.

We have a Wilmington office also which I work from periodically at the corner of Delaware & Tatnall. My kids won't be quite that old... my daughter will be about to turn 10 (Dec.) and my son will have just turned 8 (Nov).

Sherri

Do any of you have the Thanksgiving Navigators from previous years?DH and I were wanting to look at them. Thanks!

Doogie asked...
Whats the process to get a passport and how long does it take to get one?

Here's a couple of sites that might answer some questions:

general informational page on passports (new or renewing) http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

site to search passport application facility locations http://iafdb.travel.state.gov/

Dan and I will be using passports - just sent for renewal this past week when I realized rules are changing in 2006. County building I work in has an official application office BUT it is less expensive at least for renewal, if you can send in application yourself. Local Kinkos, Meijer and Walmart (portrait studio) take pix (~ $10 per person) . The website says that you can you submit digital photos but I asked at the office and they did NOT suggest to take your own b/c pix need to be some special heat transfer paper.

Also, before we travel, I make a copy of our passports and leave them
with someone that can fax me the info if I should ever need it.

Weather must be to nice all over.....this thread was already on page 2!!!

I know I asked this before but since no one replied... I figured I'd give it another shot... do you all have passports? Is it worthwhile (less hassle) to get one? Or who will NOT be traveling with a passport.

Thanks so much!

Sherri

We do not have them... and not sure I want to put out the bucks if it isn't necessary.

I have never had more than my NJ Drivers License and a Sams Club ID. ;) Since they (DCL) would like a photo ID and NJ doesn't require photo licenses I make sure not to forget my Sams Club card. :rotfl2:

Officially Linked... Now I'm Scared :rotfl2:

Gave up the early seating so we'll see y'all at dinner!

Sorry to say not an option. We (I guess that should be "I") have always chosen late and thought my wife wanted late too...come to find out I was wrong :confused3 so it is early dining for us from now on.

this is Bev and Molli (ohmom) here

we have made the FINAL decision to switch to late seating!! now -- how is this best done, let Ron's girlfriend take care of it and then let our TA know; or let our TA know first to switch our seating and then Ron's girl will link us with you????

Thinking out loud now... I know there are a lot of pre-teen girls... but any boys in the 7-9 age group???

Scorpio-Our son, Mason, will be 6 at the time of the cruise. And we are travelling with my college roommate and her son, Jacob, who will be 10 at the time of the cruise.

scorpio -- my yougest daughter, Paige, will be a month shy of turning 9 on the cruise; not totally what you are looking for but at least close in age for dinnertime :)
