November 13-17, 2011 Dream Cruise

I'm just going to do up a spreadsheet with first names, ages, and stateroom numbers.

oops, left out a word...KIDS ages. if you sent me a PM with the adult ages, i will leave them off. we all know you never ask a woman her age...;)

I just saw someone trip ticker 6 months and some change...my almost 5 DD is so expired, actually we all are!
We would love to participate in FE, we did on our first cruise and LOVED seeing both DD's faces when there was a gift left I'm sure my SIL's family would want to participate too!
I've been thinking of our next FE gift to give since we got off in October!

I'm just going to do up a spreadsheet with first names, ages, and stateroom numbers. If everyone interested can PM me the info, I'll start putting it together. Since we sail on 13Nov, let's make the cut-off to join the FE 13Oct so we have 4 weeks to make sure we have what we want (or need). Oh, and let me know if this is your first cruise so I can note that too. If we get big enough to split into groups, I'd like to spread out the veterans and the new kids on the boat as evenly as possible.

I know the consumables were a hit with my kids, especially the candy and snacks. I really appreciated the travel size tissue someone gave us because I had forgotten to bring small packs, even though I did remember to bring a box. And the safety pins! I didn't know I'd need any until I actually needed them. Someone put together a little emergency/survival kit that had safety pins, tissue, sunscreen, and some other stuff. We received both individual gifts and family gifts.

How do I get you the info to join the FE? I may sound stupid but what is and how do I PM you as I am new to the boards? Thanks!

May 1st already! We're under 200 days until the cruise, and our PIF date is creeping up fast! Are you doing anything already to prepare yourself (or get excited) for the cruise? We're planning to head to the beach soon on a Sunday so we can stare at the ship for a bit! :)

I can't wait to see all the FE's!

Has anyone started thinking about the gifts? I know that limits were talked about on the number in the groups. When will we know so that we have time to make or get things together. Will we have certain days that we leave gifts or it's up to the individual. Thanks for helping or any advice for this FE rookie!

So far, this is who has let me know they wanted to do the FE:

If you want to participate, send me a PM with names, kids ages, and cabin number so I can add you to the list.

If no one has any objections, why don't we make the cut-off to be added to the list 13Oct?

WELCOME!

Here's a great link for Fish Extenders (FE):

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607

There's a fish shaped clip next to your stateroom door. It's used by the crew to provide you with cruise communications. You attach a pocket organizer to the clip which "extends" the fish, hence a Fish Extender, FE. Your cruise meet members and you exchange small gifts by placing them in the FE. You can either purchase or make the gifts which can have a cruise, Disney or a local theme, i.e. you could bring candy from the UK and/or something from your hometown.

Our FE organizer is Jennie aka Scully 0318. Scroll up a few posts and send her message if you decide to join us.

Anything you bring for the FEs will be very much appreciated. It's funny, I just returned from the grocery store and thought of you when I saw the Cadbury chocolate bars in the candy aisle; though only two kinds were available, Dairy Milk and Royal Dark.

We do have a Pirate night scheduled the third evening of our cruise. From what I've read some people dress up, some wear t-shirts and bandanas, and others wear cruise casual clothes or some combination therof. I've also read that they give out bandanas at dinner that evening.

There is a pirate night. When we went on the cruise in 2006, they gave us a bandana. I bringing something for my DD (5) to wear, but my DH and I won't be all decked out.

How can you go wrong with any chocolate! I will just be excited to say that we have something from the UK. What about you, are you looking for something special from any particular state?
