November 13-17, 2011 Dream Cruise

Although cruise isn't till Nov I'm pretty excited (I think my wife is too just not showing it) My 22 year old daughter is coming along she is a Disney nut. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Holly&Joesmommmy!

We're prepared to get hooked .. We've been vacationing with Disney for many years, and live so close to Magic Kingdom that I can hear the fireworks (right now, in fact .. Noisy neighbors! ;D). I told DH to have the money to rebook while onboard because I know once will never be enough. I think I need to get that "Disney vacation" feeling back!

Would LOVE to live there, let me ask you
can you feel the magic living so close?

Feel the magic, hear the music .. Same thing? lol ... When the wind blows in our direction, we can hear the music they play at Magic Kingdom. Faintly, but if you know the sounds as well as we do, it's easy to recognize. The trains wake me on weekends. :) You can also hear the subtle "woosh" of the racecars going around the Richard Petty Experience. I'd say more than half the people in my neighborhood are employed by the Mouse. We/re pretty happy with where we live. :D

I just got back from the Magic and can't wait to go again! This time it's just me & DH, since he couldn't make spring break with us. I'd love to get in on FE if we're doing it.

I would be interested in a FE but would like to in a small group of 15-20 cabins. This would be my first FE and I don't want to be overwhelmed trying to make, travel with, and deliver to a huge group.

I too would be interested (and our first FE). Has anyone done this that would be willing to organize it?

I agree. This would be my first FE also. Perhaps 10 cabins would be a good number. If no one else volunteers, I'd be willing to organize the group.

How nice of you to offer to organize! Maybe someone with some FE experience will step up and offer and help or take it on.

Either way, we all win! Thank you!

We have ordered our FE and can't wait to see it!

I agree with everyone, a small group is the way to go but because this is my first cruise I'm pretty much in the dark as far as organizing and really what to do. I did buy a FE thru Ebay.

I would think that the group would be pretty much on the same deck or close by, right? My cabin is Aft on deck 7
So any advice or comments from others would be appreciative.

I just did my first FE last cruise. We had about 15 cabins, which wasn't bad. We were spread out on every deck with cabins, but it was fun delivering everything (a little like a scavenger hunt) and only took a total of about 30 minutes.

I would be happy to put the list together; we just need to decide on a cut-off date (when we won't add anymore names). We can break it into groups if we need to as we see how many people are interested.

What type of gifts did you receive in your FE ?

How very nice of you! Please let us know what you need from us and any ideas or suggestions based on your experience would be helpful.

Maybe if it gets large enough it could be broken down by kids vs non kids or by kids age groups.

I've read on some of the postings that some liked receiving one or two bigger things and some like consumable items so they didn't have to pack them.

Thanks!

Dawn

anyone have young kids that will be joining you on this cruise? my boys will be 5 and 3 in November, and this will be their first "disney" experience as well as their first time on a plane....I think they are going to love it!!

Lots of snacks, some door magnets, both kids got a personalized "journal" for the cruise which they wrote in every day, a mini photo book, uummm....there's more but I can't think of it right now. We had some creative people in our group.

I'm just going to do up a spreadsheet with first names, ages, and stateroom numbers. If everyone interested can PM me the info, I'll start putting it together. Since we sail on 13Nov, let's make the cut-off to join the FE 13Oct so we have 4 weeks to make sure we have what we want (or need). Oh, and let me know if this is your first cruise so I can note that too. If we get big enough to split into groups, I'd like to spread out the veterans and the new kids on the boat as evenly as possible.

I know the consumables were a hit with my kids, especially the candy and snacks. I really appreciated the travel size tissue someone gave us because I had forgotten to bring small packs, even though I did remember to bring a box. And the safety pins! I didn't know I'd need any until I actually needed them. Someone put together a little emergency/survival kit that had safety pins, tissue, sunscreen, and some other stuff. We received both individual gifts and family gifts.

This will be our daughters first cruise and WDW trip! She will turn 5 on the first day of our cruise. I think everyone is going to have a blast!
