November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

Also, someone more organized than myself please help us all remember that we can't miss Pub Night (?where?) on the last night...they apparently have a CM skit that is not to be missed! :cool1:

I don't consider myself organized, but I'm not going to let myself miss this one. I have seen it on previous cruises and it is hysterical!!!!! It's the last night and usually pretty late - but totally worth it! :rotfl2:

this is why i pack alot of the kids clothes that i know it will be the last wearing of-that way i do a quick laundering of them and put them in a bag which is marked "free to a good home". i leave the bag along with the the inflatable water toys in the closet :goodvibes

p.s. we once overslept so much our cabin steward had to wake and shoo us out of the cabin on the last day :rotfl2:

count us in for pub night-i hope they have guiness on tap :Pinkbounc

OOOhhhh! If nothing else, we should all committ to "Pub Night" the last night onboard to say goodbye and celebrate a great vacation with our families! :goodvibes

Anyone know where this is held? Do we just refer to our Navigators? Help!?
Is it by chance in a smokey filled bar? I sure hope not. :guilty:

Hey Guys! Sorry to be "in and out" so much lately. First it was due to the storm, and now it's due to DH being out of town (bow hunting in New Mexico for 2 weeks) which leaves me to handle the house, DS, and our business. I have soooooo much respect for single working moms.

Dis_Nurse, believe it or not,,,, it has NOT rained a drop since Katrina, and thanks to Ophelia the humidity has been low. This weather has been so nice since so many people have spent a huge portion of it outside cleaning up the area. As you drive down the road it feels as if you are driving thru a tunnel. The several feet of sand that completely hide our road has been plowed to the side. Since our sand is sugar white and granular it looks A LOT like driving thru a snow bank. Then you'll see piles of "stuff" - doors, appliances, clothes, furniture, wood etc. This is where we stacked the items we picked up from our yard and surrounding area and placed roadside for pickup. It will be several weeks before the sand has been sifted and replaced on the beach and the "stuff" has been hauled to the dump or recycled.

Barkley, did I read that you too graduated in '85? I spent last weekend celebrating my 20th reunion. It turned out incredible!!! The only downside was several people could not make it due to Katrina, gas shortage, etc. We had a class of 384 and only 92 people were able to attend. I too, would not have attended if I was not in charge of the reunion. Thank goodness the vast majority of the planning and organizing was done prior to the storm's landfall. And,,,,,the most important thing is Katrina only brushed Pensacola (45 miles east of Gulf Shores) so all of the venues I booked were able to re-open before our big weekend. But, in the end, I'm sooooo glad I went. Seeing everyone, and reliving all those memories was AWESOME!!!! It was better than our 10 year reunion.

My season pass manager on TIVO reads (Top 5): Las Vegas, Desperate Housewives, Arrested Development, 24 and Nip Tuck

Update....I just got through to the owner of Capatin Nuatica and he is graciously going to e-mail DCL and ask them to waive the age rule for my DS! He said he has done this in the past and it is worth a shot. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't (allow it).

I'll hear back soon via email from CN. Wish me luck! If I do happen to get us all on it'll be because of a miracle and a whole lotta' persistance!

Best of luck...we are rooting for you..... :cheer2:

Frank - adding to what you may know by now, but as of now, you can only book the rays on the ship (the old fashioned way).

I posted a review a while back and there is a thread with some pics on the main board......rays are sooo cute, but it may take a while to get the bugs (not lobsters) out of this tour....

What a great idea....let's plan on it.....There are Navigators posted on the web. but they are bookmarked at work....I will try to find out.....

Smoke filled bar??? I hope not tooooooo

HI STB on the Beach - glad things are beginning to get back to normal, although you are still way busy...I remember the 2 weeks last year with no electricity and no sewage - yuck! And Mother was living with us...she is a trooper but it was sooo hot.

Hey, have you got Palo's ressie yet????

nope-i graduated in 1979 (actualy 1978 1/2...long story...proposition 13 keeped me from gradution a full year early, had to go back for just 1 class my senior year). we did our 20th reunion in '99 which i organized-which is why we did not have a 25th since noone wanted to take on any of the responsibilities of planning...

so chip&dale&fun-what is the food and wine thing at epcot like-it will still be going on during our november visit. i know they have some bands, and some very high end events you can pay to get into-is there anything to do if you don't want to pay for the high end stuff?

Hey, have you got Palo's ressie yet????[/QUOTE]

C&D&F, Thank you sooo much for reminding me.... I hopped over to the web site to see if there were any cancellations and so far there are none :(

I'm putting a sticky note on my monitor to remind me to keep looking.

We don't have Palo ressies yet either. Last time we sailed there were plenty available - even same day reservations. That's if you are flexible though and don't have anything else to do (which we have planned nothing) - so we'll just get on board early and see what happens! I am sure we won't starve if we don't get them - besides - where's my chocoholics going for the dessert each night?????? I am still bringing my clothes and shoes to workout!!! :cool1:

We were right there in the the thick of things at last year's Epcot Food and Wine Festival......I was personally not impressed! We went around the whole "world" a few times and there were small samplings of various foods and wines for a HIGH PRICE! The portions were really small for the $$$ IMHO and we just weren't that into it. I did enjoy the World around EPCOT only for the kids' sakes of riding the two boat rides in Norway and ?Mexico? ?Japan? cannot remember now. They likes those...and that was about all that was worth it to us.

We enjoyed the psuedo Beatles band playing in the British section...they play there all the time though....just check times as they play 3-4 times daily. We did get to see Cool and the Gang....and yes, they were there special because of the Festival. It was a free concert. We were actually selected to go "dance" up on stage for the finale! My kids still remember this and talk about it often. Yup, we sang and danced up on stage to "Celebration!" :cool1:

We love food and wine and all the events that go with it.....Admittedly, it is an adult attraction and we had the exact opposite experience than Disnurse.

We went two times and never managed to taste everthing.....I can still recall the scallops, custard, mead, noodles, plum wine....yummy...... the beer tent.....too many offerings, not enough room in tummy.....

There are additional countries set up around the world for samplings of wine and food entrees. Some are seimply wonderful lik the spicey African chicken with Tusker beer. They range from $2-$4 so it is easy to snack trhough money. There are also wine tasting for various vineyards trhought the day. In addition, there is a huge Party of the Senses which offers 20 chefs and 40 different wines. This is a special ticketed event heldin the Millenium village.

And the champagne! Disney has it's own vintage - "Fairy Tale" - it will be offered on the cruise.

Australia hosts a walk around with different wines - you purchase a "passport" and receive 6 tastings.....The kids that staff the booths are very knowledgable and it was not crowded...so we were able to learn the difference of varieties grown there.

We also attended a lunch and learn series with a Hawaiian chef....enjoyed the sepcial venues....

Allearsnet.com has a page on food and wine...enter food and wine under the search feature.

So, for those of us who are seasonal passholders, and do not need to entertain children, it is a super weekend...

WE are going in October and I will bring back some brochures for you.....Then we can give you the scoop......As you can see from my response to Disnurse, we had a different experience....We also paid for some High end stuff - too...

You will have lots of Fun, I'm sure.....The ability to post on line will cut down on the number available. We really wanted reservations because dining for us is a big part of the cruise - can you tell from my post on Food and Wine? :rotfl2:

That was me :) I went to my 20 year a few weeks ago. I must say that I had a great time! This is coming from soemone who doesn't have lots of fond memories of high school!

Got my postcards this weekend! One step closer.

We also got an e-mail from Southwest saying that our flight had been changed. We were originally supposed to fly through NO on the way home, but now we fly through Albuquerque instead. Flight leaves at the same time as before, so we are set there!
