When I do finally pick up my cruise docs from this trashy lady who hopefully was bean-poled by a palm tree in Cozumel, I don't even think I can bring myself to say, "thank you."

I am all about thank you's.....but she is not getting one! Not from disgruntled DIS NURSE! I hope she surfs these threads! AGGGHHH!

OK - so I went to Home Depot and "stole" all of the "Alien Green" paint samples - Disney paint - lime green Mickey Head!!!!! A friend told me to make the name tags using them. There were only 20 left! So someone else must be doing the same thing - surely no one is interested in painting their room Alien Green!!!! I'll be hitting up the rest of the Home Depots in the area to "steal" more Mickey heads. If I end up in jail, you people better bail me out before cruise time!

We had to run out to Home Depot this evening so I picked up all the nice green Mickey paint samples, so if you will pm me with an address, I'll put them in the mail tomorrow. They had 21. They now have none.

Funny feeling, wasn't it? Walking out the door having pilfered the store of all the alien green Mickey heads? You are almost looking over your shoulder thinking, "did anyone notice?"

You rock! That could be our saving grace!

I have got to ask one more time....although I may ask this again when you experienced DIS'ers are face to face......what the heck is up with the Cranberry vs. Pineapple thread? Have you ever seen such meaningless thread last SOOOOOOOO long? I refuse to even look.....I take BIG TIME pride in having never touched that thread!

The juice thread is about everything it looks like. How to mix your own drinks on board, where to get the juice. Also saw posts about Curacao, people begging to be put into others luggage, others gloating at the fact they were going on a cruise....... it was too much to read the whole thing. Stay away from it - there are no secrets.

kudos to the "paint chip gang" !

kudos to all of the good t.a.'s out there as well (and rasberries to the bad and/or unresponsive ones). i confess that i am a bit jaded on the subject, i worked in sales at a "hoity-toity napa valley" inn. i encountered so many bad t.a.'s that promised the moon to customers and then left them hanging or the customers would make plans based on the info. the t.a. swore was right and then be devistated with the outcome (sorry but no one gets into "the french laundry" on a walk-in basis, the place can be booked out up to 2 years out ) and you knew it had to be the t.a. feeding them the info. when you had couples from around the country who used the same t.a. and you heard it over and over and over. one of the best t.a.'s i ever worked with attributed her success to the fact that when a client called with a question she always called back even if it was to tell them she did'nt have the answer yet but was working on it i think, sadly, there are a lot more unqualified t.a.'s out there now. it used to be that agencies put a lot of time and training into staff, now so many hire independant contractors who see it as a fast and easy way to make money and travel (scuz me-a good t.a. works their tush off to know their product). don't even get me started on the I.O.T.A mills out there ).

Thanks for all of the insiders and tips/info.....traveling like we are doing is a new thing to my family and I .........and I would like to think I am half way educated about what I am getting myself into! That is why you may be surprised to know that my TA is the sole owner of Cruise One here in the Bend area. Isn't that a nationally reputable company?

As long as I have nothing to do with her after this encounter, I will be okay. But, if you could all be a fly on the wall when I phyically make it down there (at her convenience, of course! )......I think you would be semi entertained at the body language alone!

Tip #1: (Disboards) Use the 'Subscribe to thread' Option on the thread tools menu (look up at the top of this page) rather than posting a "Just subscribing" message.

Tip #2: Don't forget to put a hold on your mail when you're on vacation. You might be able to do it online (https://dunsapp.usps.gov/HoldMail.jsp). You can only do this two weeks out (TOMORROW for us!!!)

Tip #3: Don't anger the DIS_NURSE unless you want to swim with the sharks!!!

Princesshaleysmom....if you can't find enough alien green Mickey heads let me know asap, as I, too, pilfered our local Home Depot many months ago thinking I would use then somehow. Now that we have wristbands, I really have no use for them. I did, however, already glue them back to back to make them more sturdy. I probably have 10 of them. I could always mail them to you.

My friend said that most people have lanyards to keep their KTTW card in it and that is where her group kept theirs. I myself do not have one so if there is anyone out there that doesn't have one, let me know quickly and I will get some!

Are lanyards the shoe-lace type clip on things that you wear around your neck or the actual big plastic thing that I saw in PassPorters? For those that have been before, does the KTTW have a hole to clip the holder thru? I'm assuming it is like a credit card. Do the kids get a KTTW also, or just the adults? Sorry for being so uneducated on these things! You guys are a lifesaver for us first-timers!
