November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

We don't have HD here, but I think I've seen the Disney line of paint at one of the supercenter home places here...btw STB, I know I've read somewhere that they do have choc milk on board! Also...love your pics of your DS on your posts...I haven't figured out how to do that yet! :confused3

What? Have your mail stopped? Nonsense....I have a 240 pound weight lifter with his 100 pound rottweiler staying at our house for two weeks....guns and baseball bats underneath the bed and everything! pirate:

No, seriously....a friend of mine's son is staying here to housesit and spare our poor ol cat the trauma of boarding him. :paw:
Yup, another $200 out the door but it's worth it to us.

Saw on the news late last night that MOST people in Florida now have power restored. :cheer2: Come on, Chip&Dale&Fun! :cheer2: You can do it! Find a computer and post away! :cheer2:
.....they have LOTS of reading to do! :rotfl2:

Super Snooper DIS NURSE insider for the day.....the official name of the big a**ed tv screen is the DUMBOTRON, as named by a DIS'er right here on the boards. Well have to let the CM's in on the name and make sure DIS'ers get credit for it. :goodvibes

PrincessHaleysMom....

37 coming from CA!!!!

Do you think Mickey will testify against us? At least Disney should come and visit us with a choc. bar!
:wave2: :wave2:

Chip&Dale&Fun....

If you need things, please post. We could bring an extra box of items and store it somewhere. Then you could have some treasures for after your trip. I think we would all like to help you, if we can. Please know that we in CA are thinking of you and hoping your doing well.

Your friend from CA!! :wave2:

And, if we get the 'big one' while were on the ship, we can stay with you! :goodvibes

I had no idea either....I posted a question on the board and oogieboogie immediately answered it with this:

1. Open an account at www.photobucket.com

2. Follow the directions to upload pictures

3. Open your gallery. Edit the picture you want to resize it to DIS guidelines

4. Highlight and copy the entire line that starts with
. Include the

5. Come back to the DIS, open your User CP, then paste that entire line.

6. Preview and make sure the pic isn't too big. If it is, go back to Photobucket and resize it, otherwise, you're done

It took me awhile to decide on the photos, upload and resize, but I'm glad I did it!

If you or anyone wants to do it,,,and have questions, I'll try to answer them!

from http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1123105,00.html?cnn=yes:

Hurricane Wilma inflicted more damage on Florida's power system than any storm in history, and it could take until the end of the hurricane season next month before electricity is restored to some homes, according to officials at Florida Power & Light.

An estimated 3.2 million customers lost power in half of the state's 35 counties, says Mayco Villafaña. "That is a new record for us," Villafaña told TIME. "The earlier record was Hurricane Frances last year, which essentially affected 2.8 million customers."

Villafaña attributes the devastation to the high winds that tore down power lines, causing more than half of FP&L's substations to automatically shut down. There are 400 substations statewide, and more than 240, including all of those in Broward County where the eye of the hurricane passed, went offline.

The good news, he says, is that 95 percent of the customers should have their power restored by Nov. 15. Hurricane season officially ends on Nov. 30. He could offer no time frame for restoring power to the remaining 5 percent of affected households.

Thanks to all the nice people stealing from Home Depot for me! I think I will have enough now! If not, there are several Home Depots here and I'll just raid them as I see that I need to. I am sending the lists with the real names out now. It is nothing special - in MS Word. I am going to see if I can order a bunch of lanyards and then those that need them can have them for their I.D., Green Mickey name tag and whatever else you choose to put in there. My mouth is so numb from novacaine I am drooling.... :p

So I sent the list out and C&D&F email came back undeliverable. Since I copied and pasted what she sent I am assuming her email server is down as well. So C&D&F.... when you get back on here send me your email again so I can resend the magic list!

I got on this thread after the hurricane, so I didn't have the opportunity to get to know C&D&F and I don't know where they live in Florida, but of course I am wishing them all the best! I will share that I just spoke with a client in the Naples area and he got water back yesterday, electricity today however they have no cable, and therefore no internet! He did say it is getting a little bit better each day! I'm sure we will all hear from them soon!!

Thanks STB for the directions! I will have to work on this tonight! While I'm at it, I'd also like to send out a couple other t-yous...Thanks to DisNurse for starting this thread (still wish I would have found it sooner)! Thanks to PrincessHaleysMom for the "real name" list. Thanks to Awoltoday for the DIS Ship Mate list a few pages back!

DisNurse...I'm curious after reading your very first note...is it still a surprise for your kids? How fun is that?! I did have a ball with my DS9 last week when we were going thru the list of activities for kids his age...he was literally screaming with excitement (this from a kid that never gets excited about anything)! My DS7 is a little bummed that they won't be in the same age groups, but he is very excited about there being a movie theater on board...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be showing "Chicken Little"! I read somewhere you can call a week before and they'll be able to tell you what will be showing. It's all so close, I can't hardly stand it!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

OK - Got another question for veterans. DS wanted to go outside and build sand castles. While he was creating his little city, I thought it would be the perfect time to sit on the deck and fill out my cruise documents. This way I could be close by for his 30 second intervals of "Mommy, look at this", "Mommy, look at me",,,, So, I gathered up my docs, pen, booklet and plopped down in the chase. Well,,,,,,,ONE minute later I was finished!! I only found 3 forms which asked for name, address, cruise boat name, passport # and signature. IS THAT IT??? ARE THOSE THE ONLY FORMS WE NEED TO HAVE READY WHEN WE CHECK IN??? I thought it would take a while to fill out alllllll those important docs. It took me longer to open the drawer and pull out our passports, gather my supplies and sit down, than it did to fill out all of our paperwork........There has to be more,,,right???

OOOOOH-LA-LA! :cool1: You'de be so proud of me today! I decided enough is enough and called the Cruise One office here and DEMANDED my docs! pirate:
I did get a hold of someone and stated they were only in the office for the AM....and I was not about to blow off my work out schedule to RUN down there are her convenience. She stated that she could leave them with some American Express guy a few doors down! Can you believe that? I hestitantly said yes just 'cause I want this over and done with. Can this guy be trusted? Who is he anyway?

Great customer service, huh? :guilty:
So I went downtown to some guys office and picked them up! :cool1: I am happy about that.....and he was actaully nicer and more interested in my trip than any Cruise One person!
I didn't even get a "have a great trip" from the other lady. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!

So I will never actually see her face, and she'd ought to be glad! I felt like stabbing her with an 18 gauge needle or something! :scared:

So, I am with you, STB.....I was so excited to sit down and start the process.....and I don't see that there is much to them! What are those forms you can print out from the DCL webpage if you want? Do i still do that to? We don't have any medical concerns or need releases.....except when DIS NURSE turns psycho if you hold her cruise docs hostage! :rotfl:

Please, experienced DIS'ers.....let us know what exactly we need to fill out.
Thanks! :disrocks:

Also, to answer your question about our kids knowing vs. not knowing......THE HAVE NO FREAKIN' IDEA WE ARE LEAVING TO ANYWHERE let alone A DCL CRUISE two weeks from today! This has been a hard secret to keep! Many people around them on a daily basis know we are going....and it hasn't left anyone's lips! I am so stoaked! :cheer2:

I am going to do whatever it takes to move DD (8) down with DS (6) in the Club. I know many people might have differences of opions on this.....but that is how they are going to love this even more.....being with eachother! They are true buddies! We are leaving them on the ship in St. Thomas for a while and they will NEED eachother then.

SO, all in all, a productive day for DIS NURSE. Now off my DD's tap and hip-hop class and an enjoyable hour of Survivor later.
BTW, there won't be a Survivor on Thanksgiving night, right? I am needing to set the VCR to tape while we are gone......

STB have no fear your docs are good. DCL has cut down on paperwork so you don't have to fill out as much paperwork as you used to. :) :)

Are lanyards the shoe-lace type clip on things that you wear around your neck or the actual big plastic thing that I saw in PassPorters? For those that have been before, does the KTTW have a hole to clip the holder thru? I'm assuming it is like a credit card. Do the kids get a KTTW also, or just the adults? Sorry for being so uneducated on these things! You guys are a lifesaver for us first-timers! :hourglass
We ordered some from the dis shop and we had one left over from the other cruise. It is good to kept your kttw card in and I made the kids some id's to attach to their lanyards. Another name for them are id holders.

oh,,,I like it!!! :cool1: Especially now that I know I'm not going to be condemned to some looooong line after I have already stood in two previous loong lines - (security and check-in) because I did not have the proper paperwork filled out. Thanks, JayPD!

You go DisNurse! I am proud of you! And remember not all CruiseOne people are evil, right!!!!????!!!
Not much paperwork to fill out - it's a simple process really!
Found an old Pirate costume at my mom's that I'm going to make Haley wear. She insisted on taking the sword as well - wonder if we'll get past security at the airport with it!
