greetings from "the land of soggy berber" had the carpet cleaned today and am waiting for it to dry! figured we better get it done before vacation since we will be putting up the tree within a week of getting home. dd is on a 2 nite/3 day school field trip to sports camp-should be interesting to hear about when she gets home, she is staying at the boarding school dh went to for high school (yet another reason to get the carpet done now-only makes one kid whining about having to keep slippers on during the drying process ).

hope the weather cools down before vacation (back there that is), while the goodies at the wine and food festival sound great the idea of eating in intense heat and humidity does not! our first wdw vacation is one of the few times i can say "i lost weight on vacation"-i only remember eating a pastry in the french area of epcot, and then some sushi and beer on another day. that heat just wiped me out!

well must get dh to go pickup ds from school (no school holiday for columbus day here).

I am Jennifer Lee, and WOW, so many messages. Sorry, but I can't read over 1500 messages between now and the cruise.

Anyway, some info on us:

Jennifer Lee, DH Michael Lee, DD10 Katie, DD8 Carrie, DD6 Abby & DS4 Jack (aka Captain Jack Sparrow...my Jack would become a pirate in a second if he could!) and our aupair from Japan, Megu (turning 25 the day before the cruise!)

Hailing from Leesburg, VA, DVC members since 1999. We go to WDW at least 2 x yearly (except this year as we used most of our points for this cruise). Sometimes just DH and I go!

We are in connecting rooms, deluxe inside, 2071 & 2073. We were excited to be beside the conference rooms, but now that they are going to be kid areas...I fear for our sleeping kids (and thus no rest for mommy & daddy).

We have late seating (we booked in Feb and that was all that was left!). A little nervous about this as DD10 falls asleep at 830 nightly, of course she is then up at 600. But, hey, this way she will get to see the shows, so I am not sure which would be better for us. We had early seating on our Wonder cruise 2.5 years ago.

Welcome! I think you have plenty of time to read 105 pages/1600 messages. We have a good 30 days left. That means you only have to read about 3 1/2 pages per day (52 messages). If you read a little over 2 pages an hour, you'll have it licked!

Seriously, there's not much reason to go back and read EVERYTHING. I'm sure Chip & Dale & Fun will repost the list shortly, but everybody's info is summarized (Thx C&D&P!) here, along with our dis meets.

A few things you and I have in common......we are staying on Deck 2 right near you (2120) and are right by those conference rooms also. Will this be a good thing or a bad thing? Don't know... The kids will love it no matter what!

We have a DD (also 8) who also loves to play with DD's age 6! She will be joining her brother DS (6) in the Oceaner's Club....I will do everything to move her down with her brother cause I know that's what they will want!

Hello everyone. Long time reading this thread, first time posting. DS has done his own posting, but I thought I should chime in before we meet everyone. First of all thanks to all for the great tips and hardwork on this thread (i.e. wristbands, postcards, etc.). I will try to be diligent and post our Ohio State Info by this evening. My husband and I have also been having a great discussion on which Ohio vintage we want to share. I, too have been feeling the crunch, but we do have our door magnets about finished and I have a detailed packing list complete. Now it is time to start packing. I would like to let everyone know that Walgreen's has a Disney journal for $1.00 that I purchased for character autographs. Can't wait to meet you all. This is going to be great fun.

Just to update the Smola entry............
Dressing for pirates night - 1/2 yes, 1/2 no (myself and our little boys are)
Excursions: 5 star St. John Trunk Bay snorkel, Orient Beach excusion and banana boat ride at CC. We also have Palo ressies for brunch and high tea.

I hope this helps. Disnurse, I am also a nursing supervisor, so I am sure we can share great horror stories. I am also very interested in the margaritas and seeking out all chocolate desserts.

How many Cruises: 2nd DCL, 1 NCL (we were married 1 year and were really poor...shower was over the toilet!) 1 Crystal Mediterranean Cruise this in May 2005 for my 40th bday
Palos: 2 resv. for dinner (hey, I have 2 rooms), 1 brunch, would love to do high tea, but forgot to make resv.

Before: We are flying in that day (I know, I know...but our flights get in at 8:40 a.m.)
Excursions: None planned as it is very costly to take all 7 of us. Will probably do Orient Beach and Megan's Bay on our own. We honeymooned at Caneel Bay in St. John.

So you are having a wine party? Sounds like fun. Except VA has bad wine. I am jealous of those of you from CA & OR. Okay, so I have to admit that we collect wine (have a cellar in our basement). We plan to bring a bottle for each night of the cruise plus some sparkling wine/champagne. We bring wine not as a cost saving factor, but because we just like our own wine best. We mostly collect Italian & Californian wines, with some French and Austrailian mixed in. So, can we bring an Italian wine instead?

I believe someone said that you all were meeting at 3:00 in front of a theatre for green bracelets? Put us down for 7. I forgot which theatre.

Sounds like there are lots of kids my kids ages!

Jennifer - I am from Florida and do you think we have good wines There is only one winery that is good, and I have not been able to manage a trip north since we started the wine party - However, I have had the wines from Va. that they sell at most large groceries, and they will be fine...(OK, not fine wines, but ok). This is really just for fun.

I am envious of your wine collection, and of course, it is your choice of what you bring...

Which reminds me - we have not picked a day or place for the wine tasting.
