Dee you sound like you are having a wonderful time. :thumbsup2 The weather sounds great also. Who wants those 100 degree plus days. You are really taking in all the sights. With all that walking you can go and try those pastries at that place Woody says and then report back to us. I'm sure we're all drooling for the report. :Pinkbounc But don't eat to many of those pastries!! :sad2: Days are numbered for the trip. :boat: Where is the time going?? :hourglass I have to get my hair done wash all my new things :laundy: and start packing!!! :hyper: :hyper2: Have a great evening all.

Hi everyone! I'm the obsessed one who checks the DCL site every day. I always put in myself, DH, DS, and DD. Today, I actually came up with a category 12!
Only 5 weeks from tomorrow, and we're on a plane! :cool1:

Oh, if Cat 12's are showing up now, maybe they've placed some of the GTY's (hear that WendyJersey???!!!) and upgrading some? I don't know why I'm so wild about that upgrade thing (as I have 'no upgrades' on my reservation), I just want to hear about my DIS buddies geting some surprises. Yeah....and Florida resident rates too!

Pat was told when she booked a couple of weeks ago that there were no FL discounts for our cruise. Anyone know why that would be?

Well, I have a lot to report today. It rained here, and I do mean rained. They informed that it does not storm here like the east coast. LOL Then they looked out side. Well, on any other day I would not have care, but today I was going to see Hoover dam. I finally decided I was gonna just get wet. I came all this way and I was not going to miss it. I must have been sprinled with pixie dust, because it stopped raining when we got close. How impressive. I even went to Arizonia. Hello Jackie and Peggie and Robyn

We even managed to see some mountain sheep. What a wonderful time. I booked it late last night and there was only one other couple. The three of us had a private tour. The company, pinkjeeps.com (they were actually SUVs) were great and they have several tours to different areas (like red rock, grand canyon). Well worth it!

Woody, they also have gelato here at the Venetian and I intend to sample that this weekend. I will go check out the Paris pastries. Maybe they will have some hot, fresh baguettes. I so loved them in France. Next best thing to a hard roll, which they do not have in the south. I found out today they they have several fountain shows, so I will definately be going back. I am going to go back and check out the fountains at night, maybe tomorrow. I already took pictures of the blown glass decorations for fall hanging in the Belligio. All I could say was WOW! The leaves were unbelievable.

Wendyjersey...Yesterday was the first time I made it out of the hotel and I made the most of it. Bet you are shocked I did it all by myself.

Well I am just back from our banquet and I am gonna ready for bed. Still on that blasted east coast time.

Florida resident discounts have only been released through the 10/28 Magic sailing so far. Of course, that doesn't mean there WILL be any for the November dates, but we can hope. Next week will probably tell the tale.

I've got everything ready to throw in the suitcase in the morning...all set to head off on our Vegas adventure. :thumbsup2 Better get some sleep, it will be a loooooong day tomorrow.

Dee
It sounds like you are having a wonderful. I also think it is amazing that you are seeing all of the sites on your own. I am not sure I could do it so I think it is something to be proud of.
Jackie and Peggy
I am so you gals are going to have a great time this weekend with Dee. Have a cocktail for me.

Just needed to vent...I called DCL to see if FL residents rates are out. Well yes they are but since I am a Cast Mamber I can not adjust my rate. I am FUMING MAD!!! It sad that Disney will allow Fl residents to adjust the booked cruises to have a better rate then the CM's that give blood, sweat and tears to make dreams come true. I am really starting to rethink if being a CM is worth it.But on a bright note any other fl residents out there give them a call and have a happy day.

Michelle, that stinks. You would think that they would take care of their employees. I appreciate what all you CM's do if that means anything.

I was just noticing the date and realized we are almost at the 30 day mark :cool1:

Michele, if you are not getting the CM rate for your cruise, I would think you could get the FL resident rate. Also, you might want to call and talk to another supervisor. Sometimes rates change with the supervisor ;) .

Well, now that we finally have planet tickets I'm down to the last detail--getting transportation to/from port. I've been to the transportation boards but they can get a wee bit snarky, so I thought I would ask y'all for opinions since I "know" you and trust you.
Okay, I like the Disney transfers--big comfy buses, handling our luggage, etc etc but I would like a little more flexibility in times. So, was looking at a town car. I've checked on Happy Limo (at $160 the cheapest, but worst reviews) to the most expensive - the Disney bus ($240) with Sunray ($180), Quik Slvr (190) and SOuthern Elegance (205) in between.
Anybody here had any dealings with any of these? Or any other advice/opinions? There will be four of us and we need a booster and car seat and I thought a grocery stop for beer and water might be nice.
Thanks,
Melanie

OK I just called DCL back a 3rd time and finally got them to change my ressies. I had to move up a Cat to Cat 8 and will be getting back $291.I feel better now. I actually called the direct DCL# not the one they gice CM's to call. Amazing that it took 3 calls do get someone to help.
Dee
Could you change my cabin # to 5004 on the Dis navagator? Thanks a ton :sunny:

Congrats Michelle I am glad that you worked that out, It just didnt seem right. But an upgrade with money back is good! :)
Jackie have a great time with Dee!
Everyone have a good weekend that 30 day mark is coming fast!! :cheer2:

Some of our L.V. "must do's" each time we visit:

Bellagio. Daytime: visit the Conservatory, admire the Dale Chihuly blown glass in the reception area, then have gelato at the gelato shop. Night: enjoy the live band at the Fountain Bar and walk out on the terrace to watch the fountains.

Paris L.V. Enjoy pastries at Lenotre. It's the only one outside Paris, France (and just as good!).

Woody

I got to see a Dale Chihuly exhibit here in Phoenix, amazing! Isn't he the one that did the chandelier on the DIS ships?

Noted: Paris Paris - pastries.... yummy!

The L.V. weather in October is among the most pleasant. In the summer, it can be over 100 degrees -- in the shade!

Just muggings. (Just kidding!) The best views are on the outside -- the N.Y. skyline. In the evenings, the Dueling Pianos are among the best in L.V.

The Magic used to have Dueling Pianos.

Woody

I agree!!!! The Dueling Piano boys as I fondly remember them were wonderful. My friend Suzette and I were sure we'd be too tired to stay up late and party - WE WERE WRONG!!!!

I was just told by my boss to get a coupon book from his office for our flight! He's in Chicago! How sweet eh? So Jackie we shall begin the fun once we get seated on our plane!

Michelle- which cocktail would you like me to drink for you? Anyone else that I need to consume for???? I'm always willing to help my fellow DIS'ers out!

:cool1: :thumbsup2 ;) :rotfl2:

miatamel you may want to look into FL Tours. I have used them many times myself and they have always been GREAT!!!! Any questions let me know.

:thumbsup2 THey be good! I've used Southern Elegance and can recommend them ifyou don't find a better rate. We're using Tiffany Town Car this time and got a good rate (still more expensive for two people instead of the bus....but we want to be at the port earlier).

GOTTA RUN...MY RIDE TO THE AIRPORT (Lovely sister PEG) IS HERE.....OFF TO PLAY WITH DEE!

We have used both southern elegance..Highly recommend them and Tiffany.

We used FL Tours last year and they left us at the port. We had to call and call and call and yell and finally they showed up and could not take all our luggage. I also wrote and complained and all he did was offer to take money off the next trip, as if there was gonna be.

JayPD I am glad you had better service, but I cannot take that chance again because it was horrible when we got to the airport. The ONLY reason we did not miss our flight, was it had mechanical problems. There were 6 adults and two of them were not able to huff it. One was in a wheel chair with a busted and pinned leg, the other was pregnant.

Michelle you may also want to try around the clock. I have their web site at work. When I get back to Virginia I will post it for you.

Hi! Can I join you all? :)

Just booked today and very excited. I've been on the cruise before, but this time with our one year old... so it's like going the first time! I can't wait till 11/11!!

Anyone have tips on doing a cruise with a little one or can point me to the right thread?
