Welcome aboard Nyanchan!!!This is a great group of cruisers. I would search
on the cruise board for tips traveling with toddler. My best advice would be to go with the flow .Happy planning.
Since Jackie is in Vegas I will say it

Well, I have a lot to report today. It rained here, and I do mean rained.
I hope the weather improves for the rest of your visit.

Woody, they also have gelato here at the Venetian and I intend to sample that this weekend.
Great! Looking forward to your gelato reviews!

I got to see a Dale Chihuly exhibit here in Phoenix, amazing! Isn't he the one that did the chandelier on the DIS ships?
That's him. We saw his exhibit in L.A. -- breathtaking!

There's a Dale Chihuly boutique at the Bellagio. Well worth a visit. The DVD "Chihuly over Venice" is wonderful and gave us a much greater appreciation of the chandelier in the ship's atrium.

Peggy tried the gelato last night, as Jackie and I were to full. There were at least 2 dozen choices of flavors (or there abouts). Peggy had the chocolate. Her review was:
Creamy, not to sweet, delicious and love the little clear shovels they give you to eat with and the the little scalloped cups they put it in.

My darn internet is down. It's been down since yesterday (for the most part.) They have no idea where the problem is, but know it is widespread. Hope they fix it soon--until then it's back up wi-fi locations....sigh.
I'm still trying to catch up with everyone's posts.

Hi! Can I join you all? :)

Just booked today and very excited. I've been on the cruise before, but this time with our one year old... so it's like going the first time! I can't wait till 11/11!!

Anyone have tips on doing a cruise with a little one or can point me to the right thread?

WELCOME NYANCHAN :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Excited to have you on board!
My only advice besides have a great time is to bring along or buy on the first Castaway Cay day a bucket or two. No diapers in the pools so a bucket with water can help a toddler pass the time by the pool! Also found a small stroller to be helpful while touring the ship and ports also used it at dinners!
Save money for pictures cause they will be guarenteed CUTE! :thumbsup2

No diapers in the pools

Thats not 100% true. One of the Mickey Ears in the Mickey pool is for children not yet potty trained. The only rule is they must have a swim diaper on.

I'm a FL res and I couldn't find the discounted rate. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I checked the DU page as well as my TA All Seas and nothing is showing up

Sounds lovely. Was this at the Venetian?

Woody

Yes Woody this was at the Venetian. I too tried some this afternoon. I tried the sf carmel and callata. It was absolutley devine.

Okay I have now been to several of the hotel/casinos here and I must say the Venetian is tops. It is like the Grand Floridian of Vegas and these others, (Mirage, Ceasers, Paris, MGM and Bellagio) are like the Contemporary, AKL ect. The service here is tops as well as the accomodations. The food has been great as well. Only thing missing is Mickey. LOL

You should call DCL and ask for the Fla rate. It is not avail on all Cat, but there are ones avail for our sailing.Good luck.

Hi everyone! My family went on the August Double Dip and y'all are in for an incredible time! It was hands-down the best cruise we've been on! The only problem is that now we cannot imagine a cruise where there is only one stop at CC. Twice was magical!

I know this is a lot to ask, but is there anyone out there that doesn't plan on bringing home a trunk of souveniers and may have room for a hat? There was a Double-dip, womens, beige baseball cap with the front of the ship on the front of the hat, at Castaway Cay. I am kicking myself daily that I didn't buy it. I would love to send someone some money to cover the purchase and shipping if it's not too much trouble. Please let me know if there is any way. Thanks and have a magical time!

Glad to hear that you had such a great time.

Should not be a problem bringing back a cap for you. One of us will PM you.

Can I just vent here for a sec? I contacted my TA and they know NOTHING about fla res rates. So I take Michelle's advice and call DCL directly. Yup, they have em! BUT! I can't do squat about it. Right now I paid $6516.95 for 2 cat 7's DCL has 2 cat 6's for $5105.40 HELLO! that's $1411.55 savings!!!!!!!!! and if I go for cat 5's it's only a $200 difference but still a savings of over a $1000!!!!!!!!! My TA doesn't open till 12 and it's a holiday weekend and according to their website they are closed holiday weekends. If I loose out on this I will be HOT!!!!!!

thanks for letting me vent

Well our mini Dis meet is drawing near an end. There have been several "depends" moments. As we sit here this morning, Peggy and Jackie wrapped in a blanket on the couch in our sunken living room. I do not have the heart to tell them if they turn the a/c down it will warm up in here.

I am being reminded by the two of them that "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." I, for one, do not subscribe to that philosophy. So, for a modest price, if anyone wants to know anything, please PM me to make payment arrangements.

I received our wedding confirmation packet. We are getting married (again) on 5:30 on Deck 7 aft Thursday the rain alternate location is sessions. So I guess I have to do it now it is all planed
