hey jackie! great picture - did i miss your weekly sat countdown - or did you not post it this weekend?

hey wendyjersey! welcome aboard! we live in mount laurel and are flying out of philly friday am - how about you?

Welcome Wendy. I discovered that the first page of this thread answered all my questions. It has the wristbands, the meet and greet, my buttons plus more. Very helpful!

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! :cool1:

Just for everyone's information, I will be making the buttons at the end of October so there is plenty of time to order. :thumbsup2

 Hey WendyJersey! Any friend of FGM is a friend of mine! We had a really nice brunch on Sunday with Dee, Win, Kelly, and PoohJen and her family.

Jen gave us some really interesting juicy bits about Slash (Guns and Roses) on her cruise. :smokin: She will be writing it up in her trip report. Stay tuned. popcorn:: :thumbsup2

:grouphug: Wendy :grouphug: I know you must be really stressed out right now. "This too, shall pass." Or as my father used to say to me (right after he grounded me for a week) "Adversity not only tests ones character, but strengthens it as well". I don't know where he got that quote from, but it used to drive me crazy. :) (so just ignore it, don't want to drive you crazy too :goodvibes )

Love the picture, Jackie. We were lucky enough to see a shuttle launch in 1998. We were in Orlando and figured we would just leisurely drive over to Cape Canaveral and watch, thinking that all Floridians were blas'e about shuttle launches. ("another shuttle launch, big deal") Boy were we wrong! Bumper to bumper traffic, and when the launch time came, we all just pulled over and watched from the side of the road. The shuttle is really loud and the coolest thing to see. :yay:

Wendy, :grouphug: for you and Tim. I'm betting he's going to find a great position with LESS travel! :thumbsup2

Janice, Spotdude did a great countdown for us....right up the second of departure! But if it makes you feel better:

Shelly, just making sure TiggersPal and I told you we want our Dis name with real first name below......

I'm at home today....bad tummy,etc. I think it was something I ate :confused3

:welcome: Wendy NewJersey - family of Dee's! Glad you are joining us, not only on the cruise but on the Boards!:sail: :disrocks:

:grouphug: to all those looking for new jobs - boy can I feel for you. Before I got my job, I was just so-unhappy, looking for the right fit. But I have :goodvibes on this for you guys.

I'm so excited to meet all of you - it's almost too overwhelming!

This is going to be some vacation! And I still have our Vegas trip to look forward to! DIS MEET - YIPEE!

Darn, I am at work and cannot see the picture. I will have to check when I get home.

Jackie..I hope you feel better soon. Here is a little :sunny: for your cloudy day.

All of a sudden the time is growing closer to we leave and I feel like it is coming too quickly. Somebody, quick check my temp. I guess I had better make a schedule and a list of what needs to be done. I really need to get out my clothes and try them on. I am in desperate need of shorts. I wonder if the weather will be warm in Vegas in a couple months and I can get some there?

Well, they are paying me to work, so I had better get some stuff done.

I will check in later

Janice..nice to hear from you.

Just got an email back from our wedding coordinator my shore excursions are booked for Cozumel.
On a less positive note my big screen TV just made a loud pop and is now not working :sad2: . Glad I bought the extended warranty.

So... I've checked my PM history, but I don't want to forget anyone. I am in the process of making laminated magnets out of the alien green mickey head paint chips from Home Depot. I've made ones for our Elk Grove travel group. I'm making a magnet for dizney-cruiser, txaggie94gigem, ibouncetoo & TiggersPal. Did anyone else want one while I'm cutting and laminating? I can give it to you plain, or with your DIS name on it (or DISname and real name). Just send me a PM and let me know.

Shelly, did I already send you a message about buttons for my family?

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the imlazar and WendyJersey clans!!!!

Jackie...LOVE the pic! Very cool! And, I hope you're feeling better. Nice to have a day off, but not when you can't enjoy it!

Ok, I'm an Amazing Race watcher, too, but I did NOT like the Alabama ladies dissing that woman with ONE leg about early boarding on the plane. Geez. I couldn't believe the KY mom made it to the top of that wall, let alone that woman with one leg! I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that with my two legs and that gal never gave up! (Oh, and that KY couple...she is SO harsh to her husband and so nice to everyone else...so far....:))

Not sure where our weekend got to (ok, so Mud Man, aka Surly, spent the entire weekend knee deep in irrigation issues), but I log on and there are pages of posts to catch up on. Love that, too!

Carolyn

I have read a little bit on this thread, and a lot more on other threads about Door Signs.

I thought I would try and put one together. I didn't want to do the whole door, but I thought a couple things would be nice. It could help the kids identify our door, and welcome them back to the room at night. I also thought we could add to it a couple of times durring the cruise (like on Pirate Night). However, I spent some time working on it, but had very little success.

I was thinking of taking the graphic of the double dip cruise itinerary, and using that as a base (then we could move a little ship on the sign, as we moved around the ports). Unfortunately, DisneyCruise.com had a graphic for every itinerary, except ours.

I thought about using several pictures of the Ship and Castaway Cay, but I had problems with that.

I did see examples of different color Mickey heads (the three circles), with ribbons coming down from them, with the kids name on them. I thought I could make one for each kid, but was concerned about having the kids names, posted on the exterior of the door. *** How do you make those three circles anyway?????

So, before I spend more time working on this, has anyone found, or created something, that I (or maybe all us DIS'ers) could use.

It is a busy time of the year now, and this is only a little thing. But let me know what your thoughts are on "door decorating".

Regarding door decor....

On our last cruise we started off with a magnetic dry erase board and marker, so that the kids could leave messages for us if they were going to a movie, playing ping pong, etc. We gave the older ones check out privledges with the condition that they stay together, and that we had to know their location at all times (if they were going to be anywhere other than the lab- no they could not go to the pool without us). Sorry for the side track  Each day we wrote a message on our dry erase board such as "Zip-Lining with DISers in Puerto Vallarta," "Happy 4th of July" etc. Sometimes other people left us messages on our board, and the kids LOVED that.

We also each got a disney magnet from the disney store in the mall (DH was Mr Incredible, I was Dory, 3 sons were the 3 fish friends in Nemo). We also made magnets out of the Home Depot Disney paint samples (DIS lime green of course). These are the magnets I'm offering to make for people. :teeth:

We also added something to our door each day. Flags and stars on July 4th, pirate flag on pirate night, etc. It was all very simple as I did not have time to play with photo shop.

BTW... anyone know where to get a nautical map that includes the area we will be cruising in? I would love to get a small one, have the captain sign it, plot our course on it, and frame it as a keepsake from our cruise.

A sobering thought. Two months from today we will all be on our way home (those who are not staying over) and our wonderful cruise will have come to an end.

On the positive side, we will have made new friends, shared great times and created wonderful memories for a lifetime. Have a great evening all!

Rayring....check out the DIS design center:

http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=105 tons of ideas there and even folks who will design for you! I had a fellow DISer make a birthday sign for me for last year...she just e-mailed it to me and I printed, laminated and stuck a magnet on the back of it. How about for the kids, use a nick-name instead of their real name....even funny ones like "Scooter", "Pumpkin" or "Frog" (hehe 'frog' is a nickname for someone we all know).

Wendy.....just google that map!

Spotdude, the DIS lunch on Thursday is at noon, and probably Parrot Cay. (The last double dip didn't offer Lumineres for lunch that day...but we'll keep checking witht the current and next double dip group.) Parrot Cay may actually be better since it's a buffet, it will allow some flexability with times people arrive (don't have to wait for everyone to be there to order). Also some folks may be more inclined to just pop in and say hi, grab a plate of fruit and run. When we are about three weeks out from cruise date I'll ask for a list of folks who may be interrested in attending so I can give a estimated # to the head server and arrange for a section to be 'reserved' for us.

Well, I must be feeling better....I'm getting hungry...wonder if TiggersPal will bring me something on her way home from work??? Better give her a call!

Wendy.....just google that map!

Well, I guess that's easier said than done! Just played around and could only find maps that were eastern or western and not one that would show the Bahamas (for CC) as well as the Western Caribbean. Or if they did...they were UGLY. Hopefully someone will have a more helpful suggestion :guilty:

p.s. TiggersPal is brining me some dinner.....ain't she sweet?

3340 posts?!?!? That has to be a record of some sort! You gals/guys are amazing to keep this going!

OK, down to business...

How do we order the cool sounding bracelets and door magnets? And, how can I network my almost 8 y.o. with other 8/9 y.o.s? She would probably love to e-mail with other kids and then meet at the port. (we will also have our 4 y.o. daughter with us)

I CAN'T WAIT!

Eric
