We had already picked the roses. They are really close to what we had at our wedding except ours were fire and ice.

What we booked:
Depart Sac. 11:30pm on Nov. 9 - Arrive in Orlando (via Chicago) at 10:45am on Nov 10th.
What we now have:
Depart Sac. 8:30pm on Nov. 9 -Arrive in Orlando (via LAX) at 5:15am on Nov 10th.
Now I sort of like the idea of leaving Sac earlier in the evening, but that arrival in Orlando at 5:15 in the morning will be a little tough (especially since with the time change, it will seem more like 2:15am). We'd planned on picking up our rental car at 11 and heading out to KSC for the day. Although the idea of getting to KSC earlier, not sure what would be the best thing to do when we arrive in Orlando. Our room at the Residence Inn by the port will not be ready until sometime in the afternoon. Any suggestions?

On our honeymoon we were there just before a hurricane. Most everything was closed we did the tour in about an hour and a half. We went back four years ago and we did the whole tour and the trip out to the launch pads and the satern 5 rocket. That tour took ALL day, but I am an aviation nut. I love any thing that flys.

When we went my oldest was 6 and I my niece came with us and she was I think 4 , and I couldn't believe how interested they were in all the rockets. Every section of the satern 5 we had to stop and read all about and I had to explain in detail about what that stage did. All the boys went to http://www.andrettithrillpark.com/ and I was a little bummed that I had to go to KSC with a bunch of GIRLS what the heck would they do while I was reading every sign and looking at every display? I thought about half way through I was going to be on my own and the money that I spent on there admission was going to go to a waist. I was really wrong. Last year when they launched the shuttle they were watching some part of the mission in the class room and al the questions that were asked my DD answered. And my Niece had the same experience in her class.Vanvmom said:We've never been to FL before, so this will of course be our first trip to the space center. The day we were planning on going is Veteran's day, and we expect the place to get pretty crowded since they are offering half price to veterans (and their family members who visit with them) that day. My dad was in the military - in fact I was born in a military hospital - but no discount for us, since he's deceased. We used to go to every air show that came close to town, and my dad went to see the first space shuttle landing a couple of days before he died. I really want my boys to be able to see some of this stuff up close. I'm a teacher and understand the whole "don't pull your kids out of school for vacations" concept, but it is that hands on, up close and personal experiences that kids remember for a lifetime.
