Thanks for all the "Welcome" Notes! We are really happy to be cruising with such a fun group! We are so new to all of this so it will be fun to meet some new friends.

We are early seating for dinner as well.

Have a question on Excusions - does anyone know about the Dolphin Encounter - either through DCL or other. I have read that it is waist high water but then some others have said it was much higher due to tides. My friend and I are not big "deep" wawter fans and I think my 3 yr old DD would be a little nervous in deeper water - even with us holding her. Any suggestions or info? Thanks! :Pinkbounc

Welcome to Yonkrs girl and family. And welcome to other new cruisers that I have missed welcoming. Sorry life has been getting in the way you know how it is..

Clynne, we are late seating (of course!) wait listed for first but not holding our breath. But I'm one of those that doesn't really mind late seating. I thought it was going to be awful on our first cruise last November, but you get so busy I really didn't pay any attention. I don't think the girls made it thru one complete meal though...
Yeah, I saw "AMA" on my chart one day and thought "Now why is he is writing about the American Medical Association on my chart? Am I some kind of test case?? 36 isn't THAT old for my first kid!!" So when I asked and he told me what it meant, I wasn't sure if I was relieved or insulted! I later decided I was insulted!!
With four people you might get your own table. We had our own table on our cruise last halloween. We chated with all the tables around us.

I have a niece that my Mother en-law wants to bring with us, but all of our rooms are full. If anyone has any ideas please pass them on. The only idea that I could come up with is we have some friends that only have 2 people in there room booking her in that room and letting her sleep in one of the other rooms. Has anyone done this? And if so do the stewards complain? Is it even allowed by DCL?

Found out something new from our TA today when she called in our final payment. We were already listed for main seating for dining (which is the early seating). They gave us the option for 5:30, 5:45, or 6pm for our dining time. We requested 6pm. Can we tell by the 6pm time what our dining rotation will be? Anyone know?

Wendy, I think it's LAP, but I have it written down at home. I know for sure it is NOT APL.

My suspicion was LAP. Bummer.... I wanted APL! Oh well, I guess it's worth having the different rotation if it means dining time at 6pm instead of 5:30. After all, we had APL last time, and we were going to try to do Palo dinner either on formal or semi-formal night anyway. The kids will enjoy dining in PC without us one night.

Dee? Wendy? If we are link-less, can we hone in on your party? (Jackie and Peggy said we weren't too obnoxious when we honed in on their DL trip...They could have been misrepresenting the truth to be polite, though...probably should check with them!)

The clynne family has the GOLD SEAL OF APPROVAL for being A-OK :thumbsup2 folks! In other words....NOT AXE MURDERERS. They did not spit or throw food or walk across the table either. I, however, have actually done all of these things, just not at the same meal, nor even in the same decade...and haven't done any of them LATELY ;)

got my pirate costume for the pirate night pirate:

I can't wait to see it! When we were at DL there was this terriffic black t-shirt with Capt. Jack on it....but, alas, only in children's sizes. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING????? Our young friend Miss V got one and I was very jealous ::yes::

Did you all see the other "Twice The Magic" stuff they have....a freezer mug (want one) and a baseball cap, as well as the previously noted tote and t-shirt. Some folks are asking the next batch(es) of double-dippers to pick up t-shirts for them so they can wear them on the cruise (as they only go on sale THE LAST DAY). Wouldn't they be great for your embarkation photo?

Here's the mug:

Which leads to another question you can answer along with Linda's "Are you planning special outfits for embarcation photos?" (BTW, don't wear yellow.)

Why no yellow? Is it how it turns out in photos, or did I miss something?

How it turns out in the photos. Here's Mary's (WDWLVR) photo. Don't you love the frame they do around it?!

Love the photo! Lime green is our normal embarkation wear, but not sure how it will look in the photo. Have to do some thinking on that one

On another note regarding clothing. Last summer I bought oldest DS a swimsuit online from the DisneyStore. It is Mens Small, patriotic navy with red piping, mickey flag on the bottom of the leg on the left front/side. It has elastic back, and velcro front (missing the shoe lace that ties throught the 4 eyelets at the top front). He said he liked it when I purchased it, but NEVER wore it!!! :confused3 I've decided that I'm never going to figure out the pre-teen mind, so why try. I guess they are too short (you know, normal men's length instead of the longer than your knees length that his age group wears). Anyone want it? I just can't see putting it in the regular clothes donation pile. I'd rather it go to someone who really likes Disney!

I think the lime green would like fine with the yellow/gold background. I also saw a picture of a family in matching black t-shirts and that look nice...really 'popped'.

OK....time to go grocery shopping.....later kids!

Thanks all for the nice welcome. WOW, you all definitely post a lot. Keep it up!

I think it would be great to secure some of those "Twice the Magic" t-shirts in advance. Other cruisers would be so jealous: "Where did they GET THOSE???!!?" :rotfl2:

LOVE THAT FRAME!!! Where did she get it? Probably on Castaway Cay? Black shirts would look great in that photo. Not orange either probably - too bad you know how I feel about orange (LOVE IT!).

I think those Johnny Depp t-shirts would have been great - and I'm jealous of Miss V getting one too!

Clynne's FAMILY IS A-OK!!! Better than A-Ok - they are great to hang with! They get my vote too!

Welcome newbies ! (I've forgotten your name - YonkrsGirl - and who was that other family...Oh Eric Julie & Hailey -

We are doing the Dolphin Excursion on Cozumel, it's a foot push so it will be in deep water... not sure who we booked it through - cuz my sis (ibouncetoo) takes care of all that stuff... but the sting ray thing might be a way to go!

From posting some questions on the main cruise forum I've found out some additional info. The 6pm time slot is indeed LAP. I also found out that this time "request" is treated as a request, and not a guarantee (just like on previous cruises when we were able to request a specific rotation). So... I guess we are back to square one as for dining rotation/time. :teeth:

Peg, the 'frame' around the picture is actually they way DCL (Shutters) prints it out. It's how they make a 6x8 into and 8x10 so they can charge you more for it! :goodvibes Pretty much all the photos the Shutters photographers take have a 'frame' that fits the shot. There is a Castaway Cay frame and a princess frame too, I think. I believe the info we just got in the mail (which is still at your house) may list the photo packages you can buy....if not it's probably in the PassPorter (which is also atill at your house).

I can't begin to tell you how horrid my embarkation photo on the Wonder was....very, very sad. I think the photog squatted down and shot up...very unfortunate angle for a fat chick :guilty:

Not to worry...I got the scoop from a previous DIS group on how it was arranged with DCL. I talk to my Head Server Sat night to determine which 'team' handles Luminere's on Thurs and he/she arranges it with that head server, whom I contact on Wed if we need to 'tweek' the number.

As always -- excellent job, Jackie!
