How are you feeling? Sounds like you banged yourself up good. Bruised ribs really hurt! It seems like every week you need this cruise more and more!!!!
The worst part was my DW was there and she Flipped out and she refuses to go watch us again :guilty: I am pretty much back to 100% still sore but ok My master plan from the begining of thias Dirt Bike adventure was to get the whole family involved. I think that is now out of the question. I almost had Michelle on a bike now I have to start from scratch, and that really stinks. Elizabeth thought it was funny (like me she has a pretty sick sence of humor) I don't think she thought I was hurt. But looking back it was kinda funny. :teeth:

I just got a survery from Disney Weddings about the wish book I didn;'t rate it very high. Mostly due to the price differance in the Photo packages. We were really planning on getting one but a $900 is a bit much.

This thread is really kicking it up a notch!!! YIPEE!!!! Can I just say, I'M SO EXCITED aobut this cruise? Now that I've had the most wonderul experience meeting my first "dis'ers" - I'm hooked. What a great bunch of people we have going on this cruise!

The Dis meet at DL was beyond - my expectations. What lovely folk and I can't wait to spend more time with each and every one of you!

I am going to have a hard time answering the question, but when I read the response about walking up from the terminal and seeing the Magic, my eyes started to tear up... I guess I'll be the blubbering idiot on the cruise!

But I know that one of my highlights will be in the water with the dolphins!

Sorry, no, I didn't well up with tears on the Peter Pan ride this time, because my little friend Miss M and I were having too much fun, pointing out all the great aspects of the ride and waving to her brother and my sister behind us! I think riding through the stars is still my favorite spot on that ride.

I had the best weekend, I have to tell you. Being at DL with some old friends, and new friends is just about icing on the cake of life for me. Especially when those two little faces (Clynne's kids) lit up when they saw us at the end of the day on the bus ride back to the hotel! OH MY GOD!

I never did get a Mickey bar! But I had my first Monte Cristo at ___________ can't recall the name of the restaurant at the moment... arrghhh

But :drive: home, we got to revisit our best, worst, funniest moments of the weekend!

Am I glad to be back home? Working ? On a Monday? :surfweb:  NO!

Here is the message I got from Ivan regarding our tour...

Dear Mrs. Van Vorhis,

I have some good news for you. One more time we were favored with a special deal for our group for Tuesday, November 14th.
Based on the number of people who will be using our services we can confirm your reservations at $45USD per person starting from the Costa Maya Port.

The ones taking our Mayan Experience Tour (the ones that includes the village and lunch with a Mayan family) will also be picked up at the port. The price for them will be $70USD per person.

Our tour will start at the booth for public transportation at the Costa Maya Port. To get there, after you disembark, walk (or take the trolley!) to the shopping plaza at the port. When you enter the plaza walk on the right side towards the exit passing the shops until you see an exit to the parking lot. When you're in front of the parking lot look for the booth for public transportation, it has a sign reading "Tickets to Fishemen's Village". This booth is hard to miss since it's the only place at the port where you can get transportation. You can ask anyone at the plaza and you'll be directed to it.
We'll be waiting for you there to start the tour as soon as everyone is ready.

Please feel free to contact me in case you need any further details.

Very best,
Ivan Cohuo

 :jumping1:  YEAH! I'll also e-mail this message to those of you I have e-mail addresses for. :woohoo:

I do need some more info for the Double Dip Navigator. I need an accurate list of all attending, thought I would wait till after final payment. Do we want to include childrens ages and our cabin # as well? I have mapped out just one navigator that encompases the whole cruise. Hope this works. I was hoping to load it up to a website that everyone could download and print. What do you all think of that?

I like it! You can include our children's names and ages on it with our cabin number. I've been trying to contact our travel agent for aver a week to pay off our cruise :rolleyes1 I keep telling myself that maybe she is on vacation, and that's why she hasn't gotten back to me yet. :surfweb: Still no response from her. I may try calling her directly tomorrow instead of relying on her e-mail. I'm with Peggy Jo when it comes to customer service (I was in that area for YEARS). You need to respond back with people leave you messages... if you are out of town, that's what those automated response messages are to be used for. :sad2:

I got it today too. I haven't done it yet but I wasn't really impressed with the wish book...at least not for cruise weddings. It seemed to be geared more for ones at WDW. Also....the pics of the bouquets sucked. I really worked off of the paperwork from Jennifer more. I agree with you on the pics. I really want some but I don't see $900 either.

Question of the day (or week, lol): Is there a "can't miss" activity for you? I don't want to miss seeing Pirates on the Dumbotron. Huge sceen, stars, ship, wonderful movie....can't miss it!

I'm with you Linda....POC on the big screen......

I'm jealous reading the bonding going on here. We'll also be on the 11/11/06 Magic (Deck 2). This is our second Disney cruise -- the last being 12/01. I hear a lot has changed since then!

I can honestly say the Magic was our best vacation ever. We're DVC ers, so we know vacations! And, the Magic was truly awesome. Frankly, it was after we stepped off of RCCL's Voyager of the Seas on 12/31/05 (family reunion) that I turned to my wife and said: "We need to book a Disney cruise!" RCCL just ain't the same as Disney!

Anyway, we're a foursome: Jessica (4), Hailey (almost 8), Eric (35), Julie (over 30). We'd love to obsess with you all - so please let us know if we can play, too!

Oh, in response to some of the questions: I purchased a Gifts of a Lifetime for our 10th anniversary trip to WDW. We did an Amazing Race around the EPCOT resorts. $450 with video (owner's husband with a handycam). It was very well done for the most part. First, my wife was completely duped -- she really thought we were trying out for "Disney's version of the Amazing Race". Second, she cried happily when she realized I set this up in order to end at the Beach Club beach (our self-proclaimed "happy place") to renew our vows (diamond anniversary band and all). (She's sitting next to me saying that was the romantic day of her life -- even sweating in 100 degree heat.) So, I guess it worked. They created professional looking clues (nicely laminated) -- and set up the race course nicely. My wife was running at top speed around the lagoon in 100 degree heat -- so, she definitely believed it was "real". All in all, especially considering the effect it had on my wife, it was well worth the price.

3 months 3 weeks and 3 days and counting!

EJ&H (Jessica too), we'd love for you to play with us! The more, the merrier. ::yes::

Your "Gift of a Lifetime" experience sounds wonderful! I'd read about one or two of them over the years, they are so clever and detailed. What a wonderful surprise for your wife!

Dee, I'll PM you my full name (which you most likely know) and our cabin number (which is already on page one)......geeze, no secrets here, the axe murderers could find me soooooooooooooo easily. I'll also e-mail you the MAGICAL DRINKS LIST as it stands now (do I have your e-mail address....I'll have to check when I get home).

Just so everyone knows, room numbers will come in real handy when I have to distribute reminder notices for the DIS lunch on Thursday ::yes:: and also if I need to get you your DIS wrist bands if you missed the 3PM meet on day one (or didn't get them in the mail).

Wendy:thumbsup2 on the D&I tour. Is there anyone you haven't heard back from?

Linda What I'm most looking forward to? Can't pick just one thing...guess I't have to say "Showing my little sister the DCL MAGIC!" I'm really looking forward to the ruins tour and the Royal Dolphin Swim too ::yes:: My can't miss activity? Checking out that verandah, a quite break at Cove Cafe, Twice Charmed and the CM show on the final night. Boy, there are so many things I'm looking forward to and meeting my DIS pals is way up on the list too!

Speaking of which.....I had so much fun this weekend meeting clynne, surlytheeightdwarf and woody and family members. We had a HOT time, but a FUN time. :sunny: The two hour nap in the middle of the day Saturday sure helped, as well as two back to back runs on Grizzley River before walking back to the hotel that night...dripping wet!

Eric and Family welcome :welcome: Glad you found us. We too on RCCL VOS and could not wait to go on DCL.

Welcome back Jackie, Peggy-Jo and Caroly & family. Sound like you had a great time.

Wendy, that was great news and thanks for handeling that.

Well I am off to bed.

Dee: Good job! Perhaps I could offer a suggestion.

On past cruises, parents were very concerned (IMHO rightfully so) about publicly posting a list containing their kid's names, ages, and cabin numbers. (Ring . . . ring . . . "Hello *****, your mommy asked me to take you to get ice cream.")

We could publicly post a generic navigator on a website that listed the DIS activities without listing any names.

Then, we could distribute to those families listed on the navigator at the port and at the Saturday DIS meet (at Promenade Lounge) a second hard copy version that listed member names, kids' names and ages, and cabin numbers.

In this day and age -- when the deputy secretary of homeland security tried to solicit online a 14-year old girl -- one cannot be too careful about protecting children.

That's just my two cents.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Ok that is funny.Yea I think they were really bad pics I explected better from Disney. I talked ( chated) with a very nice Woman on the wedding thread and she sent me a pic of her flowers. We had already picked the roses. They are really close to what we had at our wedding except ours were fire and ice.

TiggersPal
Did you eat at the Blue Bayou. I am so jelious if you did. I have ALWAYS wanted to eat there. I went to DL about 9 times a year till I was 18 and my parents never ate there ( or at least took me) And ythe Blue Bayou at DW is a restruant at Disney's Port Orleans Resort and its not even really a restruan it is a counter at the Riverside Mill Food Court. That is ythe one ride that is WAY better at DL than DW POC. Every time I ride it at DW I expect that last clime and dip and cruise by the Blue Bayou and its just not there.

Oh one more thing I just got a reply back from Jennifer and we do not get a wedding web site. Because we are doing it on DCL. That is a rip off. Oh well I guess. I can make one or add it to my site now.

I know what you mean - being with you guys Friday night was really so very lovely! I can still hear Miss V saying her cheeks were sore from smiling!

No, it wasn't Blue Bayou - my sister has been talking me OUT of eating there every trip - she does have a point - you can't SEE what your eating! Too dark - although great in concept...

I can't remember the restaurant's name - is the one with the big patio right in New Orleans Square... shame on me... bad PJ bad PJ

Welcome Eric and family. This is a great group of people , jump right in and join the fun.
