COOL! Deb, join us in our AIM chat next Tuesday night. It's at 10pm (EST) or 7pm for us Californians. Set yourself up with an AIM identity (free) and PM me, I will add you to my buddy list and invite you in.

Hi to you all in Sacramento, CA! I went to Chico State ( :cool1: ) and grew up in the Bay Area.

Can you wait until next month to book? I thought this cruise was getting sold out! :confused3

Come and join the fun! :goodvibes

Oh!? :guilty: What did I just do wrong? I got brave and went to AIM create a user name and password, only to be typing in many different tries and all failed!

What to do?
What to do?

I am sorry, but unless someone can help my pathetic computer illiterate sole, you'll have to "get to know" me here on the DIS BOARDS> :upsidedow

DisNurse, don't give up.....I had to try a gillion passwords when I registered....but you'd think DisNurse would work, wouldn't ya?

OK, who's bringing 'dad' or 'grampa' with them? I'll be needing a dance partner....could you guys work on that?

Which brings me to the topic I haven't wanted to commit to in writing:

CRUISING FITNESS PROGRAM. I want to cruise 50 lbs lighter than last year. YIKES! Big number, looks scary, but certainily an achievable goal for 10 months ::yes:: Heck, maybe I'm aiming too low? Maybe 56.....one lb for each year of my life! hehehehe Anybody with me on this? We could be PM/weight loss buddies and check in with each other. PM me (or post here) if you want to start a "Double-dib, scoop away the pounds" club ::yes:: Maybe we can do our own thread on the WISH board......a great place for support.

Well, time to hit the shower and drag myself to work, catch y'all later.

I'll join you! Have to think seriously about an achieveable goal... that means I'll have to step on a scale again. I'll PM you later today.

Hey Dis Nurse! I grew up in the Bay Area also. In Pinole, CA. How about you?

We have to wait until next month because we are getting ready to go on vacation in a couple of weeks. Then we'll have to come back home and recoup financially. DH does not like debt! Hopefully the cruise will still be available when we come back.

I have an AOL IM name already. I don't know what it is, so I'll have to open AOL up and find out. The boys are the ones who usually IM now.

You guys sound like a great group and can't wait to chat with you guys here and next Tuesday :)

There still seem to be cabins available in every category from 4 on down...12s are guarantees at this point of course. There's not a huge selection, but there is a selection. I don't know if any childrens age groups are considered full or not, but there are cabins!

Tracey,

Thanks for the info. We looked on Continental.com (want more airline miles!) and saw some cat. 12s also. Just never know what will happen until you actually book.

I see you are going to WDW about the same time as us! Are you going to ride EE for the DVC preview? We're staying at OKW-POR-OKW. Trying to avoid paying weekend points. This is our first time trying it...

Deb

Carolyn, you are probably better off arriving a day early and doing a park just to "check it out". If you've never gone before, you won't want your first time to be during a holiday because it will probably be packed. Then again, who knows, maybe it won't be. I've done it so many times, that if I miss something because of lines, it's no big deal. But no matter what, you won't have a BAD time... it's just better without the crowds.

We'll be at BWV from 22-27 and then AKL from 27-30. I'm planning to go to AK on Saturday morning to get in a couple (hopefully) rides on EE! I'm really excited about it! DH and DD are taking that day 'off' and just hanging at the resort, so I get to go solo. Being near the end of the trip for us, I'm sure I'll appreciate the time away! :teeth:

Rachel, thanks for the input. We have done DL many times, so are guessing we won't have to see every nook and cranny of the Magic Kingdom. They are similar, aren't they?

We're planning on flying out 11/8 and my concern was just how extra busy Jersey Week will make the parks??? We'd like to take two days, one for MK (kids will be 8 and 5...just can't imagine NOT checking MK out:)) and one for Epcot.

Anybody have any Jersey Week experience?

Thank you all....Carolyn (who can't ever make Tuesday chats due to baton and tumbling...not me, my DD4!, but would DH be totally outmatched if he checked it out??)

Hi everyone! I will try to make it to chat, but I am leaving on my trip on Friday, so still have all the packing/laundry to do to get ready. I fly to Hilton Head on Friday and we drive down to Disney on Sunday morning to check into the BWV! :cool1: Cannot wait :flower:

I wish I was going a week later, we could have a mini pre-cruise meet  I also am missing the previews for EE :sad1:

Carolyn, it has been several years since I went during Jersey week, but I do remember the crowds being higher than expected, but not summer type crowds. Just use the fast passes, make sure you are there early and I think you should be ok.

See you guys tonite!

Deb, we have two DS's who will be 11 & 14 at time of sailing. It seems to me there was someone else with boys our ages -- probably 10 pages back.

See you in November :cool1:

Hi. :teeth:

First off, I am SOOOOO excited to have pressed the magic "buy" button on our airfare this AM! Got a great price and itinerary! Even flying home two days before Thanksgiving....and so you can bet those ticket prices will skyrocket soon! Had to buy. Had to buy. ::yes::

dairyou-I grew up in Walnut Creek and Piedmont.
Hope you have a great vacation and that the stateroom of your choice is granted to you! :wizard:
Sounds like you should be fine.

Speaking of rooms, sounds like jcemom has an insider's look at what is available. Can you also give me ballpark figures?
We are actually toying with the idea of bringing along our babysitter! Our kids LOVE her and she is a great teenager! This would allow us much more freedom than our last cruise. For whatever reason, our kids did not want to participate in the Clubs! It was semi disappointing but worked out just fine. Maybe 'cause they would be in different ages groups? Anyway, DD firmly put the ka-bosh on the whole idea so DH followed.
Long story short.....we would need a stateroom for 5 (3 adults, two kids) and I am thinking the price then goes through the roof?

Just wondering how much? Does a 5 person room automatically get you a verandah whether you want pay for it or not? :confused3

Our babysitter's parents would pay for airfare and all post cruise activities (even Discovery Cove!).

cjsmom, I have a call into Kim (who you booked with) and she is gonna check it out for me. :scared: The sticker shock could just kill the idea, I know. But it is worth a try.

Congratulations on the airfare!

No insider look, LOL. I just check a travel site and see what it shows me. I did plug in 4 people and found more than 6 cabins available in each category, but category 12 was showing as a guarantee. Category 7 had only 6 cabins showing available, but all the others showed more than that, I think. I didn't check ages on DCL's site though because that's far too time consuming when you don't know what you're looking for, lol.

For 5 people you'd have to choose the family w/verandah which can get pricey. I think it's less expensive to choose two cabins in a lower category. You'd have to check to see what's available. I don't recall seeing any connecting cabins on the site I checked, but there were some right next to each other in a couple of categories. I don't remember which exactly, but I'm thinking 7, 9, and 10 for sure.
