November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Lynn,

We use two garment bags to carry all of our formal wear. We fly in the night before, and hang everything in our hotel, then repack in the morning. Then we unpack those bags as soon as they get to our room. They've always been OK, but DCL could always press everything for you if it needed it.

As far as your son, I think he's getting a little old to wear shorts in the dining room. I've seen kids up till about 5 wear them. My DS soes not like to dress, and I'll let him wear jeans and sneakers, but I do try to get him to wear dockers and shoes.

My DH will turn 45 the first day of the cruise. He's very quite, and hates to be the center of attention. Having a cake brought with half the servers in the dining room singing is usually all the embarasment he can take:rotfl: . I am thinking of getting the birthday celebration decorations for him, to decorate the room.

OK, so who else is planning on staying up late Saturday night??? :cool1: Although those on the West coast have it a tad easier LOL

Trying for anything special?

I may try for the Palo brunch or tea, we still aren't decided on which. And a few spa appointments. Since I'll be on-line anyway, I'll sign the kids up for the clubs too just to get it done. Still undecided about St Thomas excursions so I think we might just do it on our own.

Does anyone know how Palo brunch works? Is it all one set time or is it different reservation times during a certain period?

Stimpy,

In the past, I found that Palo brunches were generally scheduled around 10:30 and 11:30. We try to get the first seating to get a table by the windows.

I'll be up late Saturday night to make ressies. My family has come to expect that.

We've never booked a Disney excursion before (always did it on our own). But this time, we're going to book the Under 2 Flags tour in St. Maarten, and the Water Island Bicycle Adventure in St. Thomas.

I will be up at midnight. I usually am anyway. I am so glad it is not 3:00am anymore. We leave for the Poconos on Sunday morning and I can handle midnight but not 3:00am.

I will be booking Palo brunch and dinner (hopefully) and Buck Island Catamaran in St. Thomas. We are just going to shop and go to the beach by the pier in St. Marteen.

I would do brunch over tea at Palo - I have heard that the tea doesn't compare with the brunch

The Buck Catamaran, is that the same as the Golden Eagle Catamaran? The Passporter book does not list it as Buck but mentions Golden Eagle, wondering if they are the same. I might need to go to Disney Cruise to look.
You get to book this Sat, are you a first time DCL? I am not sure what day first timers can.
Have you ever had a spa treatment on board, worth the extra money?
Thanks lYnn:cloud9:

The Golden Eagle is in St. Marteen.

This is our 3rd Disney Cruise so we can book at 90 days out. You should be able to book at 75 days out.

I did a spa treatment on our 1st cruise and it was very nice but I just can't stand paying so much for something I can do at a spa at home for much less. If I was to do another one it would be a Cabana massage.

Good luck trying to reserve anything... I'm in my third hour of trying - zip.

An update - six hours in and I finally got a shore excursion!

Wow stoked, yahoo.....( NOT!)

At this rate, I'll be done just about the time we get on the plane......

Wow, that stinks! so much for getting that "advantage" for being concierge. Did you get everything you wanted atleast?

Wow! I haven't been online in a while and the boards are hopping! I need to figure out what we want to do for Paolo and excursions. But BEEN2MARCELINE, you've got me a bit worried!

I realized we haven't even paid remainder of balance....I guess i need to go back to AAA. We also didn't get a pre cruise package. Wow, I feel left out!

I've been shopping though and finding some great summer clothes on sale for the kiddos! Better refocus my attention here I guess and get my plans ready for online reservations! :thumbsup2

Hey, I just realized the date. Three months from today, we'll br cruising!

Lauri

lbullard...our DD is 4.5 yo...this will be her second cruise-hopefully since her 4.5 yo F cousin will be with her this time-she will hit the kids clubs! We did Orient Beach in St Maarten on our last Eastern, and plan on it again this time. It is a beautiful beach with calm water, jet skis, and a good lunch...debating weather to do the DCL Excursion or be adventurous and do it on our own.....seeing as we have 6 in-laws with us, probably will go the safe route!
Looking at Magens Bay in St Thomas....sorry no pics...my wife is the expert on those!

So am I hearing that all the Palo times are taken???? oh no, and the excursions are filled already?? For those who tried to get certain times or excursions can you share what was available and not? I am getting concerned, anyone else???? Lynn

Lynn - they should open up some more reservations tonight for the rest of us. I think they allow a certain amount for each date. You can also try to book when you get on the ship. If you want Palo reservations then do those first. They will probably book up faster than shore excursions.

Linda

Well after a few minutes of panic when it was telling me that I wasn't paid or they didn't have my birthdates I got it all booked. I just had to retrieve the reservation again.

I got Palo for dinner at 7:30 on Thursday and brunch on Monday at 11:00am. I booked for the Buck Island catamaran but I may have to change it because I only found a morning excursion and we really wanted afternoon. I may have to call about that.

I hope everyone is getting what they wanted!

Linda

I ran into noooo problems:yay: I got the brunch we wanted (2nd day at sea at 10:30) and the stingray excursion on Castaway Cay. I got it all done by 12:05:woohoo:

Linda, I got nervous because i got the same message as you. But once i logged out, everything was OK.

We got Sunday brunch at Palo at 10:30, and dinner on Wednesday at 7:30.

We have early morning excursions: St. Marten--under 2 flags at 8:45; St. Thomas--Water Island Mountain Bike Adventure at 9:15.

I even registered DD 10 for the lab. Will fill out the rest of the paperwork tomorrow. Goodnight.

Lauri

:surfweb: As I watch my clock with anticipation the time arrived , now it all relies on how quickly I could log in (fingers dont fail me now!) :tinker:
I finally log in and there it is - I am available to make reservations  the night I have been eagerly awaiting .......

Did I have a plan ? Its like being at shoe sale and you cant decide what to do first - ....
So I go for Palo's 1st - I got both the brunch and dinner reservations we wanted.
Then it was off to reserve the Spa - after this I need it now :drinking1 Where is that wine party ?

Spa done and its a race for the excursions ---- Orient Bay and Magens Bay here we come....... party:

I wish everyone lots of Pixie dust and you get the Resi's you hope for

goodnight ....
