DH opened the shutters and we saw snow falling this morning. Yuck! Right now I'm wishing that I was on DCL. Only 3 more weeks and we will be on the Magic!

I have to remind myself that a lot of you are 2 hours ahead of us. I look at the time things are posted and am thinking that you are crazy to be up so early, but when it says 4am it means that you posted at 6am.

SNOW !!!! That is a 4 letter word !!!!! I don't want to rub it in, but here in NJ we are still running around in shorts. I'm hoping I can leave in shorts and just pack a pair of jeans for ride home.

That's a big hope. I go away every year during the same week and it seems it's nice before we leave and we freeze when we come home......I think we may have the warmth here in NJ for another week and then it's shot...too bad...today is beautiful though.

No- we really are all getting up and posting at 4 am- we can't help ourselves- we're obsessed!!

PS- I don't even want to tell you how spectacularly gorgeous and un-snow-like it is here in the Garden State today! But it is!!! But don't worry- you'll be basking in the sun before you can say snow shovel!! (I hope!)

Luckily there were just a few flurries and nothing stuck to the ground. Now it is just COLD! It was in the 80s a couple weeks ago and then we had some 70s, now it is in the 40s. I hope the weatherman is right when he predicted back to the high 60s later in the week.

The two sad things about the cruise coming so soon is that it will be over (but we won't think about that) and then Winter will come. I hope that the week on the Magic is a LONG LONG week. You know, we do get an extra hour on the ship!

I can't figure out why the economy is in such bad shape- we are ALL doing our part shopping for this cruise, that's for sure!!

We will be staying at the all Star Movies also, planning on getting
breakfast at the food court there. We stayed there last time we visited WDW for 10 days, found it nice, comforable, and the food court not too bad.
Flying down on Sat (25) and staying with relativies until Thursday and then checking in at the Movies, going to Chef Mickey's on Thursday night and
downtown Disney on Friday for the Treat or Treating. So maybe we
will see you there. We will be wearing our Election Day Castaways wristbands. We have Fl tours booked to take us to the port.

we fly down the morning of the 31st...we are going to MNNSHP that night and then taking a taxi to the Swan to pick up the Disney bus to the port on Saturday...we (at least DD and I) will be wearing our wristbands nonstop...DH may wear his when I beg and plead and DD gives him her sad look...

To stimulate the economy...I think DH bought me a new ring to replace my wedding set...we celebrate 13 years on the 16th and he told me I deserved a bigger/better ring...as if the cruise wasn't enough...you know, sometimes I really do love that man!! Hopefully I will get it tonight.

Does any one know where we might be able to find a recent copy of the Navigator for a Western Caribbean cruise like ours? Our last DCL Western Caribbean cruise was 2 years ago. I was sort of hoping to be able to see more recent Navigators to get a jump start on the cruise.

DD11 just came running in to tell me... The movie Titanic will be on tonight! This past week she has been playing the song on the piano, and has started singing the song! Oh well, here we go... it's movie time!

Sorry I haven't been around....way too much drama in the last 2 weeks. I did get my documents today...whahoo!! I still have a million things to do and just not feeling up to it. The night shifts have been killing me....

Ok, next question... Does anyone have a website, or other information regarding which characters appear and when? The reason I ask is that while this is our 4th DCL cruise, it always seems that we miss certain characters. We'll be looking over the pictures in Shutters, and see pictures of kids with some character and wonder, we didn't know about that!! How did we miss it! We always check the Navigator and the tv screen in the lobby for character appearances, yet we always seem to miss some. Do some characters appear unannounced? Is there any secret to this (that you are willing to share!).

I know the "character" photo op I am surely not going to miss this time around. Captain Jack on Castaway Cay. I was like 2 minutes late and the lovely castmembers said I was too late and they wouldn't let me get a picture. GRRRR.

Anyway, I plan on being the first in line this time as Captain Jack with the Flying Dutchman ship in the background is one vacation photo I intend to capture.


If you check the Navigator's I believe you will see a line in the daily schedule (looks like a tv guide) for Characters. I have an old Navigator and it even makes reference to dial 7-PALS or see information board in the lobby atrium.
TIP: bring a highlighter pen so you can mark your navigator with the things you don't want to miss.


Sometimes I feel silly standing in line with the little children to get character photo's, but they make such cute vacation memories, I'll be that tall, middle-aged "kid" in line.

So, I am going to continue using his office as the EDC luggage depot.

He IS the neat nick in our family. It's turning out to be a good thing that I am the messy one. The kids are NOT fazed when they see piles I have created.

Little do they know these new piles in daddy's office hold a very special surprise for the both of them.

I am off to run the dishwasher before church.
