Well folks, we had the storm of all storms today and I got stuck driving in it. Penny size hail ( cracked my windshield on Yukon ) . Whole development flooded and had to use 4WD to get home, slid all the way on the 2" of ice !! YES ICE IN AUGUST...
I am now so ready for this trip.
This was at the start of it, you may be able to see size of hail falling from sky.

OMG!!! I just read my family your post, and we are all AMAZED!!!! Guess it was a good week to skip our LBI vacation!!! Geez!!!

We received our flight information this week. We booked our flights through DCL. Originally, we were told that flight information would only be available a month in advance. We have stop overs in Charlotte, NC both going and returning. While slightly inconvenient for what is normally just over a 2 hour flight, the only concerns this raises is that lost luggage and missing the connection might be more likely. Anyone else book through DCL and are leaving from Newark, NJ?

My niece and I stopped at Walmart and Michael's today and bought fabric for our fish extenders. We also found pillowcases with Princess pictures and Pirates pictures on them at Michael's to use for character autographs. First, we'll have to color in the pictures with fabric markers because they are crafts from Michael's, but they should work well for getting autographs.

Since this is our first trip, we'll finally get to reserve our excursions next week. For over a year, I planned to go to Tulum, but I finally caved and decided to do an island tour of Cozumel instead. I'm hoping I don't regret the decision, but it seems to work better with the Pirate party and everything else.

It's had to believe it's only 82 days away.

I did not book through DCL, I booked myself and although Newark airport is 20 minutes away (sigh....) we're going through JFK because the fares were pretty high out of Newark. But I really wanted a direct flight specifically because of the what if our luggage is lost thing... no time for them to get it to us, etc. Plus, once they (Continental with a delta connection) completely lost it FOR GOOD and that's not fun for anyone (although we got a big check for it, but it STILL was not even close...)! So now I am completely paranoid about it. Have you called DCL to voice your concerns? What did they have to say?

Haven't heard anything in a while about getting wristbands. Are we still planning to do that? Or did I miss this one? Anyway, if someone will let us know, we'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm the one who mentioned the wristbands in the first place. DD has been keeping me busy, so I haven't been on the boards much. Anyway, if people are still interested, I could still arrange this. The easiest way to do it would be to order them and have people pay via paypal or send a check, and I'll send the wristbands to you a couple weeks before the cruise. The price is going to depend on how many we order. With paypal fees and postage, I think it will be around $3 a wristband. There are 3 sizes--6 inch, 7 inch, and 8 inch. The cheapest place to get them has a 100 piece minimum per size, so we could try to keep it generic like "Cruising on the Disney Magic" or something like that and try to split an order with another cruise meet group, or I can try to find another company to order from. What does everyone think?

Hey- I just wanted to remind anyone who wants to participate in FE's on the cruise to PLEASE make sure you have registered for it in our Yahoo group, on the page under database that says "tell us about yourself". Also, make sure to put your cabin # in if you haven't yet! According to that list, there are 22 adults (12 women, 10 men), and 18 kids (11 girls, 7 boys) who are participating. It is 12 families in total- time to go shopping for surprises!

If we need to get the same size for all 100, I'd say the 7" would be best...regardless we'll take 5 (One extra for a keepsake). I like Disney Magic 2008 or maybe Election Day Castaways 2008. Maybe that's too many letters? Regardless, we're in. PM us with contact info...we'll Paypal it to you directly.

We are booked on US Airways for both directions. The luggage thing is our big fear along with missing the connecting flight. However, they guarantee to get us on the boat. That's why we booked through the Cruise. We asked around a bit, I understand that connecting flights is fairly standard when booking through the Cruiseline because it is generally cheaper for them. Cross your fingers for us and hope we aren't in the same outfit all week long because our luggage was lost!!!! The cruise website does have a way to request changes of flights. I suppose we could do that, but I wonder if it is worth it. Regardless, nothing will ruin my good time!

As it stands, we get into Orlando at 11am. Hoping to be to the boat by 1pm.

I was just thinking that if there is any child with a chocolate or peanut allergy to have the parents let us know prior to the "FE gift exchange". I would so hate to ruin someone's vacation unintentionally.

Put us in for 5, if the idea flies. It would be cool to have "Election Day Castaways 2008" or something specific on them, but I doubt well get 100 bites on them. What will we do with 100 lime green plastic bracelets?
