I love, love, love TGM. I have been to WDW so many times, but always sub to his site. His best days/which parks are worth the money in and of themselves. Just make sure you do it well in advance because the amount of info can be overwhelming at first.

Hi! I just found this thread. We are going on a Disney cruise from Nov. 6 -9th and then staying at SSR from Nov. 9 - 16th! We can't wait. We went this year from Nov. 28th - Dec. 7th. It was so great and no crowds!! We really wanted to go after Thanksgiving again but our annual passes will expire by then! So here we are going in early November! It is me, my dh, and my ds (6) and dd(3). They will be 7 and 4 when we go then! We are DVC members and just love WDW! It really is a magical place!

Has anyone done the Boutique in Downtown Disney or in the Castle? My daughter will be 5, so I really want her to do it. I was thinking since it is her first trip of getting the more expensive package so she can get the dress and everything. What do you guys think of this?

I DID IT! I called and made the ressie! When I asked, I was told I did have a room only discount code but I had to use it by March 2008. Oh well.

Make touring plans. They make everything fall into place. I suggest TGM. He is always the first thing I get when planning a trip. Dawn, I know you subscribe to him as well.

Better than a code....Kaylee you were right. I found a reputable guy to rent me some points. Now the ressie I just made has to be cancelled. But I'll save money going this way instead I think. And now I get a villa which is what we really wanted. As soon as I get the confirmation from him, I'll cancel the lodge.

Dawn, that is awesome news for you! I have always wanted to rent points, but I am terrified of doing it.... I'm such a scaredy cat when it comes to stuff like that. So, we always pay a ton more and get two rooms wherever we stay. Ugh. I hope your experience is an easy one!!! Congrats! How much do you think you are going to save??? Maybe that would persuade me, heh heh.

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes! It was fun. Dh came home and grilled some steaks, we had cake and presents. My dog kept trying to open them. He thinks anything in a package is for him. Silly thing. Spoiled rotten Bulldog, he is.

OkaY tip of the day (TOTD)...
Print out condensed touring plans onto index cards and put them into a small 99cent photo album from walmart, or target. Then throw them into your backpack so you will always know where to go next! I have one for each park and adjust them year to year as things change.

I'm so excited that four other DIS families will be at WDW at the same time as us!!! I'd love to meet all of you at some point....maybe we could plan a DIS meet at ToT or Fantasmic or possibly all share one of the Wishes Cruises or something!! What do all of you think?

I'm a DVC member, so I had to wait until today to book our room at Old Key West. (Jo, you can update the official list to show that we are staying at OKW...thanks!!)

So, I just hung up with Member Services and we're booked for 11/29 - 12/4 in a 2 BR Villa at OKW!

And, yes, my vacation planning was put on hold in December, as well, due to that little event called Christmas. But, now we're in the 11 month window, so it's time to get serious about planning!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are off to a good start for a Happy New Year. DUH! Of course it's going to be Happy...we are all going to the Happiest Place on Earth this year!

Jill - they are pretty much the same thing. We much prefer the Illuminations Cruise. I feel with the Wishes Cruise you are quite far away from the action, so to speak



I am still checking on flights daily as we are yet to book ours....

I'm thinking of taking the extra $ and surprising DH with tickets to La Nouba. He's always wanted to go and we'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary right before our trip.

We will be staying off-site in a villa from the 1st-15th and celebrating DS' 3rd birthday, our anniversary and DD's 6th birthday whilst in Florida.

We will be sharing a villa with the in-laws so I am trying to find a good time to start mentioning ADRs as after all -180days isn't too many months away

It looks like we're going to WDW around 11/15-22, before our DCL itinerary to Costa Maya, Cozumel, and double-dippin' at Castaway Cay!

So far, the 'week before the cruise' members will be me, DH, the twins, DH (aka Future President of Disneyland or FPD), her best friend, and best friend's mom, who is one of my best friends!

Looks like--in the interest of saving money and doing things other than WDW (like Discovery Cove, SeaWorld, and Aquatica--we'll rent a vacation home offsite and get around in a minivan.

Then, my oldest son; another one of my best friends, her hubby, and their two kids; and two more dear friends, are showing up to go on DCL with us! Hoohoo!
