November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

New to the board, first trip with our daughter to Disney. In fact our last trip was 1997 we are so excited about the trip. Will be there Novevember 22-28 may change the dates to enjoy the Christmas decorations.:santa:

Hello :yay: :welcome: :yay:

A lovely Fed-Ex woman called today about some Yankee tickets being delivered. She left a message asking for directions. Seriously.
.................http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wl........
Seems like a sophisticated parcel delivery company would have something that can do the job I can in 7 seconds from my p.c. :rotfl2:

So glad they did'nt ask me for directions to England :lmao: :lmao:

I've never been to Sci-Fi (not really my thing), but I think Park Fare is a great idea. I think we may eat there during our trip.
I wouldn't over-react about Le Cellier. Just because the menu changed doesn't mean it won't be good. And the cheese soup and pretzel bread (I also like the other breads) are still a fixture.... your kids will probably love that.
We had breakfast at Crystal Palace and it was wonderful. The food is good, but the atmosphere makes it. I don't know if dinner is the same.
But overall it sounds like a lot of fun. The food was awful when we ate at Chef Mickey's but even so we had a fun time, and Whispering Canyon seems like a blast..... trick your kids into asking for ketchup and the like!

The reason we might change Le Cellier is because we don't know if the kids will like it. Still thinking about it.

LOL, I already warned DH about the ketchup at Whispering Canyon. We won't have to trick our kids because they love ketchup and know they will ask for some, especially our oldest DS.

Wow and your first post is here!

Welcome and enjoy planning your trip with us!

There are so many restaurants I want to eat at and don't because I know my kids won't eat there.:sad2:

I understand what you are going through Sandy.

My favorite part of being at WDW during my b-day month (I've never actually been there ON my b-day, but during the month of my b-day) is getting the "Happy Birthday" button and all the WDW CM's wishing me a Happy Birthday!

I would think having dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table on your b-day would be the best b-day present. There's just something extra magical about having dinner in the castle!

Jill - :yay: YAY for you getting your MVMCP tix today!!!

Thats what i was thinking but doing lunch there becasue the kids might enjoy the food a little more I love CRT :woohoo:

:grouphug: We booked with AAA for our first trip and we are staying at POP requested the 60's building with Baloo daughter loves the big Bear and the Bear Necessities. We are thinking of the following places dine any thoughts for our first visit. Also. has any used AAA before to book your meals? I was told by our travel Agent that they can book our meal for us without having to get on the phone

Liberty TAvern for Thanksgiving day
Coral SEas
SCI-Fi
Character with POO at Crystal Palace

Any other suggestions to use our dining plan on? Not sure if we want to do a dining plan that uses 2 meals for the 1.

Hi everyone, my family will be going from Nov 4 to the 16. (land and sea)
I keep looking for the hours to be posted as well, does anyone know when it will be?

Me:surfweb: DHpirate: DDprincess:

I spoke to CM last night about the hours. I was told they would be up "6 months ahead". She didn't know what to say when I said "um, it is 6 months ahead" :confused3 Frustrating!!! I want to wait to make ADRs until I know which park is open late. I did get the tickets for Mickey Merry Christmas though!:dance3:

I have to call Monday for my ADRs. I guess this weekend I will just have to make a schedule on guessing park hours and EMHs. I am really stressed about this since I am planning a Grand Gathering.

Count me IN!!! Booked a looooooong time ago. My mom and I are going Nov.2thru the 9th as part of the land and sea package!!:cool1:

And last Saturday I went to the Disney Store and bought us Mickey and Minnie t-shirts for the trip!!:woohoo:

How wonderful! Last year was my first trip in 12 years, and my girlfriend's first in 15! It was amazing..... we'll be back again this year, arriving on the 25th.
Where will you be staying?
And the Christmas decorations will be up when you're there. We arrived on the same day last year (Tuesday before Thanksgiving) and everything was up-- I gather for some time, actually. If you want to read about some of them, I do mention them in my trip report:
That is good news about the Christmas Decorations, that was what we were wishing for our year of a million dreams dream well 1 of them. We are staying at POP requested the 60's sectin with a room close to Baloo. Daughter loves the Bear Necessities.

A few questions I hope you guys can answer for us.

1)We are flying but AAA gives up diamond parking which they make a big deal about, is it a big deal?

2)Does anyone know anything about AAA story telling thing?

3) Any ideas for a welcome basket for my daughter? She is an ariel nut.

4)We get a mini-golf voucher with our package, which do you suggest? Daughter loves mini-golf.

I am so excited, reading the boards here make wish the time away to the 22 of November.

I'm not familiar with AAA packages, so if I'm wrong about something, please someone else correct me!
1. If you're on-site, parking potentially means nothing. Disney transportation is free throughout the resort grounds.
2. No idea.
3. On top of all the great ideas I'm sure people here will have, you may want to call Disney, they're sure to have all sorts of ideas.
4. From what I gather, most people like the Winter-Summerland better. But my suggestion would be to choose the one that is around other things you may want to do. The Boardwalk and the like is close to Fantasia, so you may want to plan that as part of an outing (if you're into the decorations, definitely stop into the Beach Club and see the working Gingerbread Carousel!). Or you can play Winter-Summerland as a break from Blizzard Beach if you plan to go to the waterpark, or as a stop between the resort and Animal Kingdom (I'm pretty sure your bus stops at Blizzard Beach on its way to Animal Kingdom, but you may want to check (I know the Beach Club bus does..... for those who've read my trip report, you know that I REALLY know this! :rotfl2: ).

We'll be there 11/8-11/14. I'm so relieved to find they have changed SSW to the weekend we leave. We usually go the end of January but we heard the Superbowl is in Tampa this year so we thought November would be nice for a change and maybe not so crowded. I didn't realize SSW is so popular.

Patiently waiting for the hours to post......:surfweb:

1)We are flying but AAA gives up diamond parking which they make a big deal about, is it a big deal? Most people have to park very far away from the parks and still have to take a tram or the monorail to actually get there. I THINK the AAA parking pass gets you right up front.

2)Does anyone know anything about AAA story telling thing????? Another question to ask at the family planning threads or to just look through, I'm sure it's been asked and answered before.

3) Any ideas for a welcome basket for my daughter? She is an ariel nut. Go the the family planning threads, there was a company that made and delivered custom gift baskets to your resort room.

4)We get a mini-golf voucher with our package, which do you suggest? Daughter loves mini-golf.?????
