I just got a report that they were able to see the shuttle from FW.....

I just watched the shuttle go up from my house. It was a crystal clear sky and beautiful. We even got to see the separation of the solid rocket boosters and them fall off for a second or two. You don't get clear skies like this one very often. Wow, I marvel at it every time. I have watched the good and the bad with them in the years of the shuttles. Every launch stays with me.

Well... I did NOT go to the WWW GG tonite. I got stuck working almost 2 hours later than scheduled at THD today & my feet had enough. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet, but particularly painful in my right foot. As much as I hated not to go, I couldn't stand any more of the pain and especially not walking all over Epcot. Donnie, as usual, dissed me out for being a wimp, offered to rent me a wheelchair & push me around & will give me more hell on the board, I'm sure.

Now, I truly believe God was watching out for me by making me wimp out. DH & I went out for chicken wings for dinner and on the way home from the restaurant a pully that holds the serpentine belt fell off. When you have no serpentine belt, you lose power steering and the fan for the radiator. I was driving when it happened. I heard this big "KA-CHUNK" and felt the power steering go out - and all of a sudden my truck was driving like..... a truck!!! Then the temp gauge pegged and the over-heat light came on. DH immediately turned on the heat in the car & set it to 90 to vent the heat out of the engine. It worked, because in a mile & a half the temp gauge went back to normal.

If I had driven to Epcot tonite to meet up with everyone, this probably would have happened on my way over (on I-4) & it would have freaked me out big time. I could get along without the power steering, but would not have known to turn on the heat in order to cool down the engine.

This is the first time in the 12 years and 158K+ miles I've owned the truck that anything like this has happened - so I'm not upset. This truck owes me nothing. Monday AM I'll have it towed to my mechanic & hopefully will have it back in the afternoon.

So....I'm sorry I missed the GG and especially not being able to meet the girls - but obviously, everything happens for a reason.

Thanks, Denise. I'm going to see if I can catch up with some of them Monday or Tuesday nite if I have any money left over from fixing the truck!

It was raining here a little bit earlier this evening, but now it's gone & the temps are dropping. They should have a beautiful nite to enjoy Epcot & whatever else they plan on doing.

I spoke with Donnie this morning & he was begging me to bring Rick along tonite to even out the testosterone level! Somehow, I think Donnie can handle all those girls by himself & is loving being the only guy!

Donnie was just fine, trust me. He was relishing in all the comments he got from the wait staff about he being the only guy with 6 women. He was carping about him paying rack rate for the Pop though.

Donnie, if you got outta there for only $111 you're either cheap, or you know where to find all the good deals! SIX DATES and you only spent $111??? Amazing! Cheap, but amazing!


Now that my truck is operational & my feet have quit hurting (thank you WebMD), I'm going over tomorrow nite to meet up with Kelly, Gus & who ever else is remaining.
