I am going down for the long weekend and looking at the hours 8am-midnight every day I KNOW it wil be busy. Luckily we are morning people so will be ther eat 7:30am and then leave for the afternoon and then come back in the evening.

Anyway, it seems we are after all the Halloween decorations are down and is there any chance the Christmas things will be up by then?

Anyone been that time of the year?

Also, do they have the same magic mornings even during those busy holiday weekends? I can hardly imagine them opening at 7am but if they are we will be there! I haven't bought tickets yet, am debating between the AP and just a 2-3 day pass. I am hopeful we'd go again which is why I want the AP, but not sure... We are starting with work with a fertility clinic and if I can get pg I am unlikely to do much for more than a year.

Any advice?

Jenn

I can't really tell you just how busy it will be but I am hoping for the best because we will also be arriving on the 9th! Some of the decorations should start going up but the big holiday season kickoff is not until the 21st.

MM days are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. I would assume that they will still have them on the holiday morning but it would be nice if someone could confirm. I hope we are able to get that 7:00 start and beat some of the crowds on Veteran's Day.

That's a tough call on the AP. We live in Texas and have them but only because we know we will be back within the year to make it cost effective.

Good luck getting pg! Maybe some additional trips to the park would help to take some of the stress off of your focus of getting pregnant, which in turn just might result in your desired pregnancy! Or, maybe staying in a romantic room a few extra nights might help you along! In either case, an AP might not be a bad idea. ;)

Whatever you do, have a great trip! Maybe we will see you there! Just keep on the lookout for those LGMHs!

Many people have the 11th off for Veterans Day. This could be the reason for longer hours. The schools are also off on that day. Could it be people are taking a longer weekend and so the later hours at DL?

My BD is on the 8th and my sons the 9th. We shoud be there both days so we will hope for less people ....

Just as a small warning, this year's Bat's Day has been moved to Nov 9th. This means there should be a influx of people for that event. At the last summer one they had several thousand out for the event. This year's is a bit hard to call since it is the first time they have moved it to cooler weather, but with the move it may cut some of the crowd's.

We'll be there from 11/8-11/11 so I'm curious about crowds as well!

What exactly is Bat's Day?

It is an annual gathering of members of the goth commumity. It is an unofficial event, not Disney sponsored, but it does draw in quite a few participants so it is worth mentioning for those trying to avoid crowds. Personally, I don't think the crowd will impact Disneyland too bad. The main thing you will see is that they dress a little different than some of us. There will be lots of people dressed in black and unique garb, some quite elaborate. (Should make for some interesting photos!) They have always been a well behaved bunch anytime we have been there at the same time.

We'll be there that weekend as well (Nov 7 - 11) as our kids have Monday and Tuesday off from school.

So, the Bat's Day info says that Nov 9th is the planned day at the park. Does anybody know if they limit their visits to DL or does it flow over to DCA as well?

Also, it looks like there are other activities planned for Sat (Nov 8th). Will that day have some of the Bat's Day participants also at the DLR parks?

Bat's Day is all on the 9th, the other events mentioned are held at an Anaheim hotel, those will keep most people there.

Bat's Day is traditionally all about DL, you might see a few participants to DCA, but all of the planned activities and everything are held in DL.

My nonDH & DD will be there. Any advise for me on what to tell my DD9 about the Bat's Day? :confused3
She's pretty accepting of people who are "different" but she's not seen much Goth attire.
Thank you for any input you have.

For the most part you will just see a lot of people wearing black. Not too much else. If you look at the pictures from last year on the site given you will see it's not that crazy. Since we have to stay within the Disney dress code, many of the outfits we would love to wear are considered "costumes" under the rules, so we can't wear them. You will also see what we call Baby Bat's which are the children of Goths who show up. They have some of the cutest outfits.

I will say it saddens me that in the past some people have chosen to be very rude to some of the attendees. My niece was in line and had a woman treat her meanly, grabbing her daughter who was looking at her outfit and saying "stay away from her, she is evil". My niece is one of the best kids I know and at 12 she was anything but evil or scary. The good thing though is most people are much more polite. They ask us questions and tend to be very nice.

Can you give me this site?
