Nov 6, 2011 Mickey's Mexican Fiesta

Hi Yall - Our family will be joining in the fun on Nov 6! This is our very first Disney cruise and we are sooooo excited, except that the kiddos have no idea that we are going. :rolleyes1: But if they knew, they would be excited. It is me, DH, DS (9), DD (8) and DD (2). We are going to start the trip with a day in DL, then most likely breakfast Sunday morning at Goofy's Kitchen where we will surprise the kids and go straight to the port.

We NEED to start a Fish Extender Exchange. That is the onething I have looked foward to ever since I decided to go on a Disney cruise. Sooo, who is with me???

Hi. I'm Lisa. My DH, Bill and I are sailing with you. We have a daughter, Victoria, who is 11. My sister and her family will be with us. They are all adults. We are also spending days at Disneyland and a bit of sightseeing in LA, too. This will be almost a two week vacation for us.

This will be our second Disney cruise. We sailed in November 2008, on the Magic to the Western Carribbean. It was amazing!

I'm glad to see this thread for our trip. Last time, we had fun meeting the group from Disboards in one of the lounge areas on the afternoon we embarked and doing fish extenders.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Princess Kayla: My sister and I will particpate in Fish Extenders!

Lisa

Welcome Aboard!!!
I'm gonna update the first message on this board so we can start a FE list. I am so excited to see more people are joining us on the cruise ...

I am so happy about the FE! I so can't wait until Nov. Maybe we can skip the next few months...okay!

:tinker:Me too ... I spent all this weekend figuring out what I was going to pass out. I didn't get your info yet for the FE list so don't forget to send it so we can add your crew

I am also happy that we have gotten the FE extender thing started. It is alot of fun.

This is a huge trip for us. We are flying to LA on Friday night and spending Saturday in Disneyland. Cruise is Sunday to Sunday and then we'll return to Anaheim for Sunday and Monday for more Disneyland, then to Universal area until Thursday for some sightseeing in LA. It is our first trip to Los Angeles ever. I know that three days in Disneyland is supposed to be alot, but as big Disney fans, I think we can absorb atmosphere and be happy.

On my last cruise, we had a Disboards meet around 4pm just before sailing and took a picture of the entire group on the stairs in the lobby. So far, we seem to be a much smaller group so it should all be easier to coordinate.

I made my last payment about a week ago. I can't wait to book Palos. I'm hoping for High Tea this time.

The next few months cannot go fast enough.

I found a thread that has the menus and navigators for a previous sailing on our itinerary if you want an idea of the activities and food. Of course, it may change up a bit for us by November. As I understand, we have two days in Cabo San Lucas instead of Mazaltan due to chaos on the Mexican Riviera.

You may not want to look here if you like a surprise:

Well I just booked 4 days in Disney before the cruise...:cool1:

I also have a question about passports...don't really think I need them I have checked all the rules/reg. Picture id and original BC is fine. It kills me to have to spend 400 plus on something I don't need. any thought?

Have you ever been to Disneyland before?

I thought we needed them because we are going to Mexico. You said that this is your fourth cruise? Did you need them for Western Carribbean? We had them because of the stops in Cayman and Cozumel. At one time, passports were not necessary for Canada or Mexico, but I thought the rules changed in 2007-ish. However, come to think of it, I don't think they ever stamped our passports on the last trip.

Maybe call the cruiseline?

This will be our first trip to LA and disneyland. We did not need passports for the any cruise we have been on. We have always used our BC and id. I am thinking about getting my son (13) a passport card so he would have a photo ID. Still on the fence but have to do something soon.

3 months and 2 weeks...:cheer2:

Mind if I butt in ... When I booked the cruise they said we would not need the passports for this one however we would need our original birth certificate and a picture id ... the paperwork I got a week later said the same thing ...

:tinker: I just pulled the paperwork from DCL and this is what is says for
2011 - 2012 West Coast Disney Cruise Line Reservations
Mexican Riviera - Repositioning - Pacific Coast

"Passports are required by all guest unless you are a US Citizen on a close-loop sailing which departs and returns to the same port in the US. All international guest must have a passport to board the Disney Cruise Line. passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the sailing has ended. The Disney Cruise Line will only accept the following as proof of US citizenship when on a close - loop sailing: a valid US unexpired passport, original state issued birth certificate, original Certificate of Naturalization, original Certificate of Citizenship, or original Consular Report of Birth Abroad of US Citizen. In addition to one of these forms of identification, guest 18 or older must present a photo ID issued by a local, state, or Federal Government Agency."

I hope this helps.

I took the kids to the dolphins in Cabo while DH did scuba diving. Both were with the same company and both were great. My daughter was too young to do the swim so we did the other. It was expensive but I think it was worth it. The kids really enjoyed it and still talk about it.

In The other port we did the pirate cruise. I thought it was okay. The kids had fun and there a lot to do. It was a long day though. If you are thinking of this one, I can tell you more.

Really the best thing we did was taking a water taxi in Cabo. The guy took us out to the rocks, gave us a brief tour and then took us to the beach and picked us back up. It was 40 dollars for all 6 of us plus tip. I think we will do this again in Cabo.

It was a great vacation. My daughter loved the clubs and my son enjoyed being in the Edge once we got him moved up. He was just over a month from turning 11. I thought he would like the club as he is a little young for his age but he was bored. Loved the Edge though!

Hi All

We are also looking forward to this cruise- Myself, DW, DD age 8, and DS turning 7 on the cruise! Flying out Friday from NY, and spending Saturday in Disneyland before the cruise on Sunday. We have cruised NCL a number of times, but first time on a Disney cruise.

We are fishing nuts, and have already made arrangements for fishing charters both days in Cabo. Last year we did a land-based trip there, and my son even managed (with a little help!) to land a 150 lb. marlin! Still trying to decide on Puerto Vallarta- probably either the water park/dolphinarium, or the Las Caletas tour- the kids zipline and adventure park sound like fun!
