Nov. 28, 2009 Western - Post Thanksgiving Relaxation Cruise

I have a cosmo license too so I totally understand! Seems like you're the last one to get your hair done! You would think it would be the other way around! I can do my own pedi but I decided it's worth paying to have someone else do it just to get my vacation started out just right! I'm leaving work early on Tues. next week to get it done. Our kids don't have school on Wed. because of conferences so I won't have any time to do it then. But, it'll be a good day for them to pack their airplane activity bags.

My problem with getting a pedi is that I don't think I can fit it in. I will be working 10-8 Monday & Tuesday and 10-6 on Wednesday because of leaving Wednesday night to drive to Florida. I am trying to make up some of the hours I will be losing for Thanksgiving & Friday & Saturday. I only have a week of vacation time left and that goes for the cruise week.

I am still trying to figure out how to pack my gown. It won't fit in a carry-on. I have a folding garment bag, but I can just see it now. They put my garment bag on the bottom & start packing all those big suitcases on top of it. Can you say wrinkles. Plus, after all that work, I am paranoid about leaving it out of my sight.:scared:

Once we're on the ship & settled into our cabin I will feel much better.

Oh, and a question...

What does everyone have planned pre-cruise?

We're flying out on a 5:35 on Friday evening, and we've hired a van (with a grocey stop to pick up alcohol...;)) to take us to the Raddisson at The Port. We're booked on the 10am shuttle to the port.....YAY!!!!

I still have to pick up my Lime Green Mickey paint chips from Home Depot....but I will have them for sure so you can spot up at the Terminal (or just listen for the kids screaming??? cause it'll be 4 adults and 6 kids....;))...

I can't wait to meet you all.

We are flying down on Thanksgiving day (afternoon) and staying at Boardwalk Villas. Have dinner booked at the Yachtsman Steakhouse that evening. Planning to either go to DHS to see the Osbourne Lights or just walk around the world at Epcot after dinner. Next day, I think we'll head to the Magic Kingdom but be back at the BW in time to go to the ESPN Zone and see Pitt vs. WVU at 7 p.m. THen we have a towncar picking us up the next AM at 9:30 to head to the port!!!!

Hi everyone! It has been a long time since I have posted; and first time on this thread - not sure where the time went - but oh my - we are leaving in just over one week!

Can't wait to be on the cruise and to meet everyone!

Oh - and to add to the haircut updates - the girls and I went last weekend. Nails, however, I will need to try to get that in this weekend I hope!

We're flying down Thanksgiving afternoon also- we get in around 1PM. Thanksgiving dinner booked at Chef Mickey's so we can hopefully watch fireworks from the Contemporary observation deck after dinner. We'll stay Thurs. night at our timeshare at Vistana Village one night using some leftover points. Then hanging by the pool in the morning, late lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Blue Man Group at Citywalk Friday evening. We'll stay at a hotel near Universal Friday night, since we only had enough points to stay at Vistana the one night. Hopefully we'll be keeping so busy the kids won't notice we're not actually going INTO any of the parks (yeah, right...)

I've got to tell my DH. :rotfl2::rotfl2: He just shakes his head at me. I always insist on having the hair dyed before any trip/vacation. I don't want permanent memories of me with all this grey! Glad to know I'm not the only one (or in this case 4 :lmao:).

Me too, me too:rotfl2:Had it cut last week and colored it a couple days ago :thumbsup2

jen-n-greg

We're driving down to FL, leaving Wednesday around 1 p.m. :cool1: We'll check into Bay Lake Tower on Thursday, dinner at O'Hana Thursday evening, Friday is Epcot day with the Candlelight Processional and Saturday is the boat!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

It is nice to know that we all have the proper priorities - which most men will never understand:rolleyes1

any way at work and have to go

take care all

Is anyone else having problems sleeping. I think I need to be rocked to sleep. DH and I are celebrating 16 years tomorrow. I can't believe it's been that long.

I'm bored. I don't want to work. I don't want to do anything but finish the last touches of packing and leave. Think the boss would go for it???? :lmao:

I'm with you Allison but my boss is a slavedriver. :lmao: (I work for myself for those who don't know)

Whew! I just finished my FE gifts. Those take up more space than I thought...but were fun to do! The kids helped a bit, but David told me he's not sure I should trust strangers I met on the computer. Hmm...how to explain that one without sounding too hypocritical???

By the way, did anyone on the FE list find out Morgan's Mommy's room number? Thanks!

Now, on to packing...

Congratulations! That is fantastic! I can fall asleep but wake up at 3:00 or 3:30 and can't go back to sleep! I feel your pain!

I have a small head cold. (maybe even allergies?) :confused3 Going to go get airborne and start taking it! Hopefully it will not turn into anything more!

Greetings everyone. I have been busy trying to get everything ready at work for me to take time off that I havn't had a time to check in here. Can't believe how much longer! Where is the time going!

Anyways, I had a question that I know someone here should know the answer to (and probally out there already if I had time to look for an answer)... Does anyone know if The Princess and the Frog will be playing on the ship during the cruise.

I know it doesn't have a wide release until after our cruise but it starts in limited release at the Burbank Studios and New York on the 25th. I can't wait for this movie. If its going to be on the cruise, I think I can hold off a couple days to see but if now, I will have to make sure I am able to see it before the cruise.

There is a group of 16 of us (14 adults and 2 children) who are flying in on Friday and staying at the Hyatt in MCO. On Saturday morning we'll be picked up by a 28-passenger mini-bus and taken to port. We'll be easy to spot ... just look for the rowdiest group of people and that will be us. :thumbsup2

Hello! Yes, the excitement/anxiety is setting in! So much to do; but can't wait to just be there!

Not sure about the movie the Princess and the Frog. I was thinking they would be showing a Christmas Carol; but wonder if they will preview it in the Walt Disney Theater one night? That would be great. Will have to see if we can find out ahead of time.

Hey to the people who haven't posted in awhile! :wave2: Hey Jeff's wife! :wave2:

I'm getting way too excited. I'm finally packing too... I ordered some new luggage...it should arrive tomorrow and hopefully I'll be ready to fill it. I have a super busy weekend: friday night potluck at the kids' school (meaning I have to spend half the day tomorrow cooking), haircuts :lmao:, then I have to shop for Thanksgiving at the Holiday Farmer's Market (my faaaaaavorite part of Thanksgiving!). Sunday we need to do a "yard cleanup" day here at home because I'm afraid the snow will be here by the time we return from the cruise...Oi, how will the packing ever get done!?! :confused3:)

I'm such a dork, I went to JoAnne fabrics tonight and got some fabric for pirate night pirate: (I'm not crafty at all, I just got fabric to cut out to use as bandanna's and sashes to go with our costumes) but then I couldn't resist getting some Mickey stickers (the cool scrap booking ones) and magnetic paper to "make" magnets for our door. I spent way too long putting them together this evening. It was fun though (albeit extremely dorky--hey, the kids were uber impressed :rotfl:)

We will be leaving Wednesday night after we finish my last day of work for the week. We have to do any last minute stuff. Pack the car, feed the animals, put the dog out one last time for the night, put her in her cage and head out the door around 10 or 11 pm. Can't leave sooner because it wouldn't be fair to the dog to be in her cage too long. DD will be coming in the morning about 8:30 am after her work shift and 2 more times during the day and twice on Friday. By then her DB will be home from Tennesse with his GF. Then they have to work out the 3 times a day they will be checking on the animals & letting the dog out.

We will be driving all night & most of Thanksgiving Day. We don't have any reservations. We will have our laptop w/ aircard so we can get on the internet and set something up when we decide we can't go any further. Sometimes we pull into a Secure reststop and curl up for a nap till the sun comes up. We will be going to WDW at some point before the cruise & I definately have to get to the Will Call Window at one of the parks on Saturday morning to pick up my Birthday Fun Card before we head over to port. Thank goodness they have changed the rules so you don't have to use it all up on your Birthday. We will go back after the cruise to spend it. (We have 7 days of main park, 10 of WP&M NE left over from last years trip)

We are thinking about taking the autotrain home. Debating whether to go home Saturday and pay an extra $50 for the train, but then we have to pay for a hotel room for another night, or save the $50, go Sunday and that would give us an extra day at WDW. I think it's a no-brainer. The extra day at WDW sounds so much better.:thumbsup2
