Nov. 28, 2009 Western - Post Thanksgiving Relaxation Cruise

Eeeek. Pools outside my door?!?!?! That's kinda funny...never really thought about that.

The sickies are about the place here as well. Hopefully *if* everyone is going to get sick it'll run through before the cruise...*crosses fingers*....Today my oldest is home with a fever and a cough. I had a cold last week...and I'm just starting to feel better. I really wish I could just live in a bubble to insure that everyone is healthy for the trip. It scares me with all these sickies...I don't want to miss it.

Did you call the town clerk yet about the birth certificate Jen?

Since I changed my room number the day the travel docs arrived will they send me a whole new set of Docs?
You sound like me! I've forbidden everyone to get sick. :rotfl2: And guess who's home with a bad stomach ache today! You guessed it, me!! I haven't been home really sick in over a year. Nice, huh?!!
DH has to go to the doc for a check up for something today (good wife can't remember why :lmao:). I'm praying he doesn't pick anything up there. :goodvibes

Stay healthy everyone! I've got DD taking so many vitamins its not funny. Every night she sits down with the big bottles and starts opening them. She's asked for one of those pill containers for them. :rotfl: I've become a nut job! :rotfl2:

Alright folks

here is disgusting for you -- we had a 1/2 inch layer of snow on the ground this am:headache:

so as i am trying to find all the winter paraphenallia here - all i can think about is it better not snow during the cruise:scared:

christ - you think we lived in the arctic or something:mad:

this cruise just can't come fast:boat:

Don't you live in Canada though?

My parents live in Colorado, front range - not even the mountains. They had 18 inches of snow last week!! :scared1: It's all melted now but still 18" before Halloween sounded really bad.

And yes, the cruise can't come fast enough!!! :thumbsup2

That's funny disneyholic (the pool outside our door) I'm gonna do my best to try to figure out just what's back there when we're on the boat ;) I wasn't sure if it was a balcony or a.......???

I've got two home sick here. "flu-like symptoms" The whole town where I live is oinking :lmao: (35% out at the local highschool 9+ out of 24 at my kids' school) I'm actually kind of glad to get it over with so it doesn't ruin our cruise and so it's not looming over our heads all winter... Ask me again if I feel this way when *I* have it AND all three of my kids are home bouncing on my head. :rotfl:

I'm a big vitamin pusher too Allison and I make a really nice elderberry syrup which I'm making today to give the entire family every single day from now until the cruise!

Called the town clerk where my kids were born today to get the cert for my youngest replaced--she said she'd get started on the birth cert and asked "Would you like to pick it up today or Saturday?" PHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW! :goodvibes:thumbsup2:)

Happy Birthday Steph!!!! :flower3::cake:

Hi guys! There was an article in my local paper today about how all the local schools are showing higher absentee levels due to the flu. I just hope we manage not to get sick or atleast not for the cruise. I keep telling my girls they can't get sick because we can't afford to have them out of school since I am takiing them out for 5 days for the cruise. I'll definately have to up their vitamin intake.

I am waiting for my FE to come in. I've been working on FE gifts. Just need to get final numbers so I can finish up.

Trying to finalize our excursion plans. :confused3(Nothing like leaving things to the last minute) And shopping for a formal dress today.

Hope you feel better Allison! Think I am going to go out and buy some hand santizer for the whole family to carry around.

Oh and I forgot Ackjtal--that IS disgusting. We've had one insignificant snow so far and as far as I'm concerned that can be IT for the winter :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing: (I live in VT )

Oh yea and one more thing: Steph's cruise docs are way cooler than mine. Mine are all dumb and boring, she actually has some stuff that's useful! I don't get it since we're on linked reservations with everything the same but...:upsidedow

Yeah i live in canada

but that doesn't mean i like the snow

frankly if it came for christmas and left i would be very happy:banana:

and your right we usually get snow that comes in october and goes away

the problem with snow now is it means that it usually stays

I am counting on the disney gang to give us great weather:wizard:

Hey

I just read an article that says if you peel onions and put them in a bowl in the rooms in your house you won't get sick:confused3

supposedly the onions have an antibacterial and antiviral agent in them:)

and if you are already sick you are supposed to put the a sliced onion in your socks - it will draw out the poisons:scared1:

anyway i am going to try it - lets hope the dog doesn't eat the onions

Super YAY! Glad that the little one can go now...hehe...I just need to find all of ours.

Happy Birthday Steph!!!! :flower3::cake:
Thanks! Not my best B-day yet with my sweetie sick (and they all woke up at 5:30am) and the hubster at school till 9:30pm. At least he got me a cake, and some cute presents/flowers last night to celebrate. Hopefully mom will at least deliver me a B-day meal...if we can't go there to celebrate with sicky vicky. I think I'm going to have to continue celebrating by going out again tomorrow night. I'm going to need it...Plus...I plan on celebrating on the cruise. Dang, if I have to get a year older...may as well celebrate the entire month, right???

:)

That's crazy about the onions.

Oh...and to what Jen said RE: my Doc's being cooler. Really...mine had info about tipping...and other stuff...her's had barely anything. What do your cruise Docs have in em?

Fedex just delivered the cruise docs!:cool1:

Got tickets for the opening night of Disney on Ice in Vancouver as a surprise for my son, then we will go to Cocoa Beach for two nights. Post cruise we will be at POFQ for five nights. Just finished making all the advance ADR's. Nothing left to do now but pack!

I can't believe that we leave three weeks from today. In fact, I think we'll be in the air right now three weeks from today.

I have SO much work to do before then to wrap up a couple big projects for clients - that I don't know exactly when I will get it all done. I hope to not have to work too much on this cruise, but i can guarantee you'll see me either in the promenade lounge at night time a couple of times with my laptop and a glass of wine. Hopefully I can keep it to that.

Happy Thursday everyone!

I just learned this a few months ago... For ear infections, chop up a bit of onion, squish out and warm up the juice in the microwave, use a dropper to put a few warm drops in the ear, and it helps relieve the pain. Sounds weird and disgusting but it worked well and very quickly (within minutes) on both my kids last month. We still got antibiotics- but the onion juice helped them sleep the first night before the meds kicked in.

Right now, I've got one home with a lowgrade fever and a bit of coughing. Not sure what to make of it, but as with the rest of you, I'm glad he got it NOW and not later in the month...

Wow! That sounds interesting. Who would have thought it. The onions in the socks though.. hmmmm.. Wonder if eating them regularly does the same thing.

Hey Allison - Just found out I'm heading to NYC the Monday and Tuesday AFTER our cruise to meet up with a new potential client. What is up with the hotel rates in the city? I can't get ANYTHING decent for under 400 bucks.

i am going to have to try that as my youngest is prone to ear infections and she is not a very good patient when she has one

we are doing the big family thing but are very interested in getting to know people on board:banana:unfortunately we will not be able to make the meeting as we won't get to the ship until closer to 4:sad2:

i am hoping there will be some way to hook up with some if not all of you another way:cutie:

Closer to 4? I hope you aren't cutting it too close. Doesn't the ship leave dock at 4?

k- we are 3 weeks away today -we fly down on Thanksgiving-- and I am starting to freak. I am busy every weeekend with 2 Thanksgiving dinners, 2 b-day parties, and my DD15 Volleyball tryouts:eek: I know I am going to forget something - I just remembered the other day I have to find a place for my dogs to stay :headache:And I'm sure we need some clothes. Ok-- I haven't had time to read the last few pages yet-- but I am worried about the FE. I signed up ahile ago-- and was told I was on the list-- and recently sent 2-3 PMs - still haven't received anything :confused3 I hope I get to participate as I have a really cool FE :thumbsup2

Okay- on another note-- my mom wants me to book her a room on the DREAM :cool1: Took 6 years, but she has finally agreed to give it a shot-- she loved the pics (well- drawings) I showed her of the Dream. K- has anyone ever booked a room for someone else? I will need 3 total-- how does it work? And again, should I do it Monday, or wait til I'm on the Magic?

Hope everyone else is more organized than me

Just jumping in here... you are on my FE list. Nessa sent it out a few days ago and asked us to make sure all the info is good and she'll send out a final on Saturday. So, check your email or I can forward a copy to you.
