I know that no one can predict the weather for 2 months away...(if you can please make it warm and sunny with no humidity or rain), but I am asking those of you that have gone in this time frame, historically what has the weather been like. I know Disney heats the pools but I found them rather chilly last October. I don't really care if I swim but I know that the kids will look forward to it, especially with POFQ pool. Can anyone tell me if the hot tub is close to the pool that I could sit and supervise? Is is too cold for the waterparks also? I had planned on a day at TL for this trip. Thanks guys Kat

Swimming - yes; water parks - I wouldn't

Since the weather can vary greatly from day to day, you might have to change your complete schedule to accomodate fitting the water park in. We were able to swim in early December last year but somedays it was very cold!

This will be our 4 trip to WDW over the Thanksgiving holiday. We have been able to swim evey year but one. Pack your swim gear, it doesn't take up much space, and hope for some nice and sunny afternoons. The mornings are usually too chilly to swim.

We have an "open" day scheduled for our upcoming Thanksgiving trip. I am HOPING to go to TL...at least that is the plan. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll have a lazy day by the pool and then hit the parks or DTD.

My kids will be VERY disappointed if we don't get to TL!

To answer your second question, the hot tub at POFQ does NOT have a view of the pool. Sorry!

The week immediately following Thanksgiving is our favorite. We're from PA and my kids go swimming everyday.

Me, personally, won't even put my suit on at that time of year (I don't want to scare the guests with my pasty white skin!) :rotfl2:

Most of the time, the temps hit the 70's during the day (though one year it was in the 90's) and the 60's at night. If it snows back home, that's even better!!

Not if you don't start taking lessons right away!

:goodvibes

This will be our 4th year at WDW at this time. Each year is different. On our past trip we had some sunny beautiful days and then one night (I think it was January 2nd?) it was a record low in Orlando. It was about 30 degrees!! People were walking around the parks wrapped in blankets and pool towels. We are going to be in Disney December 26-January 8 this year and I will be counting on a few days when it is warm enough to swim.

This is a picture of my sister and I at the Chronicles of Narnia set at MGM. We have on down vests and gloves, it was January 1!

Then, this is in the pool the day before:

So, hopefully that gives you the idea of the variety of the weather!

I've been in November and it was great, it wasn't hot, but warm enough swimming was fine. I think Orlando is pretty much supposed to be warm all year around with some freaky times where it gets cold, but typically it should be pretty warm, some FL residents on here would know more than me though.

We were there last year during that exact timeframe and went swimming quite a few times. Of course, we're from Canada so we'll swim in just about anything that doesn't actually have icebergs floating past...

MAYBE - it depnds on your tastes, and the weather....the kids could always jump in the hot tub with you if it's on the chilly side.

You said you found the pools a little on the underheated side, and I'm with you there. So again I'll say, maybe. WE were there about that time last year and some days were good for swimming and others were not so great. I wouldn't have been particularly eager to do a water park, but you might get a day that's tolerable for water parking - so long as you plan on going in the heat of the afternoon.

I remember my first ever trip to Florida. It was for Spring Training, not Disney. And it was March, not December. But anyway...I was in the pool at the hotel every day. People thought I was nuts! But I told them, it was 26 in Massachusetts when I left and therefore 73 felt fantastic to me and I was going swimming!

We are Canucks too. Thanks for all the responses everyone. My kids are crazy enough to go in our pool when the water is fresh from the hose. I'm packing for all types of weather ( I plan to do a little shopping also!!!)

Another Canadian family here who plans on swimming the first week of December. The weather will be better than southern Ontario. Hopefully the weather will be warm enough on December 4th, we plan on spending that day at the pool relaxing for MVMCP also.

We too will be there during that week. We are planning on a day at Typhoon Lagoon. I'm hoping it snows at home and then it will definitely seem warmer.

Here's crossing my fingers and hoping for some great warm weather. :)
