Nov 2010 -- Even our Stroller has Christmas Lights! New 12/22 Lessons Learned #222

Well, I'm hoping to book for May 27, right after the kids get out of school, but so much is going on that I haven't booked yet. For one, DH has had a major career change and we won't be able to know for sure if he can go then until later. Then I'm kinda sorta thinking a job change is in order for me, but :confused3. I've worked here for 7 years, which is a long time for a 29 year old. lol, and the environment has changed and it is just probably time for me to grow up and get a real job. lol. - Of course I'm thinking of the things I could do with the money, too. - Anyway, I want to book soon, but I'm dragging my feet.

BTW, I'm loving ur Disney Days! That is SO cool! We may need to start doing that!

We just decided that we are going May 14-21 next year (assuming we can get ressies). I can't make my ressies until Dec 1st with my DVC points but my parents already made theirs at Kidani, so we will join them there.

I hope your DH can get off of work and best of luck in your decision to change jobs. The longest I stayed at one company was 6 years and then got the itch to do something else, too!

Well...? How's planning going?

Sorry, I haven't been around. I stopped planning for a bit. I have a 2-day crop this weekend and have been busily preparing for that. Also, I am now a Daisy Girl Scout Troop leader and had to go to classes for that and start up a whole troop. We had our first meeting on Wednesday and it went well, so I feel like I can breathe a bit better now.

I told myself that after the GS meeting and crop, then I'd focus back on our trip. Rachel (5yr) told me that we "have to go to Epcot to get our traditional family photo!"

This really surprised me that 1) she would remember we do that and 2) that she would even want to do so!

So now I have to re-look at our 3 days in the park and see which day makes sense to sneak into Epcot for a bit. Of course, I told her we could probably only take the picture and then ride just one ride.

Her response -- Ok, I pick Soarin ... and while we are there let's do the Boat Ride ...and Nemo ... and we have to do Figment.

me: Oh, that's all?

Rachel: Well, we just got to do Spaceship Earth, too.

me: What about Mission Space, Test Track, Mexican Boat ride and Maelstrom?

Rachel: Yeah, those too.

Me::rotfl2:

Hey Marshay

Where you at? popcorn::

Yeah, I know! Between life and Girl Scouts and my scrapbooking, I've been remiss on Dis.

I was supposed to go to bed early tonight but looking at the time, I see that's not gonna happen either ... sigh...

Hey Marsha

Glad Daisies went well. Have fun at your crop this weekend

After hearing your conversation with Rachel, I think you might need to spend some time at Epcot this trip :rotfl:

I know! I was just going to do MK and HS this time...we only have 3 days and I didn't want to go commando this trip... But I will look at doing a little bit in EPcot, too...maybe before going over to HS for the OL.

Hey, all!

I just wanted to add the link to my Disney Autograph Pages. I was able to add: Cars, Flynn Rider, Rapunzel, Tiana, Naveen, Frozone, Lotso, Vidia and Terence. Come check them out.

a HUGE ditto there!!!! :goodvibes

I went to your scrap thread and those are awesome as usual!
Many thanks! I really enjoy doing these pages ... if you can't tell!;):rotfl2:

Aww, thanks! They are lots of fun to do. Now the book is getting h-u-g-e ... it's about 4" right now!:scared1:

So I just added a page for Duffy Bear to my DD5's autograph book and I think I'm done. I still can't find my Lilo & Stitch stickers and I don't want to do their pages until I get more stickers. So I just left a placeholder for them and also for Agent Oso.

Right now I think Oso is just at the Character meal and we don't plan to eat there this time.

So here comes the huge check I am done with the Autograph Book for our trip!!

Next step is to redo our entire plan for the park.

My original intention was to just pick MK and DHS and tour these two parks. But after talking to Rachel and Jerry, we are going to take a different approach this time.

We are not going to be "ride-focused" ... instead, we are going to see and do specific things on our list .. but not get all caught up in the rides.

Or so I say...

Since we are driving, we'll have our own SUV to get around easily. We may end up just going into a park and doing 2-4 things and then leaving. I still have to plan this out but here are the highlights we want to do:

Rachel
Splash Mountain
Jungle Cruise and drive the little boats in front
Dinosaur

Elizabeth
(Ok, so we guessed on these)
Playhouse Disney
IASW
Country Bears

Jerry
Space Mountain
Energy
Coral Reef Lunch or Dinner (he tells me this now!! There is nothing available at all on the days we are here. Our best best is to just show up right at lunch or dinner opening and see if they have any tables.)

Marsha
Epcot Fountain Photo
Voices of Liberty
Characters -- Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Vidia, Mike, Sully, Duffy, Tiana, Naveen

All
DHS Parade
Osborne Lights
Santa at DTD
Wagon or Carriage Ride thru Ft. Wilderness Campground to see all the displays
MK Castle

That's 20-ish things in 3 full park days...I really don't know if that's too much or not enough. Obviously if not enough, we can easily add other rides to the list.

If it's too much, then we'll cut out Animal Kingdom & Voices of Liberty and if the character lines are too long, we won't stay for them.

Oh, and we switched our Disney Day for this month. It's no longer IASW b/c Elizabeth is just loving all the Halloween decorations that Jerry put up.

So tomorrow is our "Mickey's Not So Scary ... OK, it is a little spooky Halloween Party". I just can't believe how quickly this is going!

I'll post pics next week.

How fun!! I can hardly wait to see pictures.
