Nov 15 - Nov 23 or Nov 30 - Dec 9?

Ack?! I cannot pick a week. I had chosen Nov. 30 - Dec 9th, but now I wonder if it will be warm enough? We will be coming from North Carolina, where it can be 70 until Thanksgiving, or 60s....who knows.

Any thoughts on Nov. 15 - Nov. 23 vs. Nov. 30 - Dec 9th, 2013? We would be staying at the Poly, if that makes a difference. Our kids will be 9, 6, and nearly 3 at the time.

Pros for November would be:
1) I a guessing it would be warmer.
2) Maybe less crowded?

Cons for November would be:
1) Would the resorts be 100% decorated by the 15th?
2) I feel like we should leave on Saturday to avoid the crowds that weekend and driving on Thanksgiving Sunday. This means only 8 nights, rather than 9 so my kids don't miss SEVEN days of school. Missing six days feels better.:rolleyes1
3) Even less chance of staying at the Grand Floridian Villas....if there is a chance at all and I have no idea about renting points, etc

Pros for December:
1) Everything will definitely be decorated. I don't think we care about the candlelight processional as our kids are too young.
2) Higher chance of GF DVC? Again, I am not sure of cost or even if it's possible.
3) We could stay 9 nights.

Cons for December:
1) Colder? I do not like doing Disney cold. 70s is fine. 50s, not so much.

Thank you for your insight! I need to settle and move on so I can get MVMCP tickets and start planning ADRs, etc.

I don't think you can go wrong with either week. Being that its only two weeks apart, I don't think the weather will be too different. I would probably choose the first week of December only because all of the Christmas decorations would be up by then - they are all up by the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The end of your trip does coincide with Pop Warner but since you are staying at a deluxe, it shouldnt be too much of a factor.

I think the December dates are during POP Warner, which have read numerous complaints about. Not sure where you are staying but would definitely avoid POP Warner group hotels (values??). Maybe someone else can help with the specific dates and hotels.

According to the wide world of sports website POP Warner is 12/7/13 thru 12/14/13 - if that helps any.

Yes, Pop Warner is always the first full week in December starting on Saturday or the first Saturday after the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Y'all are sweet for responding! I'm surprised no one has said that it's obvious we should pick December as that's 9 nights instead of 8, and 9 nights at WDW is always better than 8, right?

Any more insight?

Your first set of dates would not be covered for the predicted free dining dates, unless you moved your check in date to the 17th. Your second set of dates would probably have lower crowds and be covered by the FD promo for those dates.
