Nov.1 2009 on the Wonder! it's never too early to chat!the

I have always wanted to go parasailing. I would love to go with my DS10 and he said yes he wanted to do it, but I can tell he's not too sure. I'm afraid he'll spend the day at Castaway Cay with a stomach ache from being nervous about the parasailing. I have it booked right now - just in case, but I will probably have to cancel it. Does anyone know what the cancellation policy is on shore excursions and activities?

I just checked DCL's policy and they say you can change or cancel shore excursions up to 3 days before the cruise. I assume that after that, you would be charged for them even if you don't go.

It's good to know, as my teenagers are paying for the parasailing excursion themselves. This will make them think twice sooner rather than later! LOL

Would love to participate in the FE Gift Exchange as well. Thanks so much for organizing it!!!

73 DAYS Till We Set Sail!!

Hi Bonnie,

We booked Comfort Suites too!! Can't wait to go.

Kim

We actually JUST cancelled our Confort Suites reservation. This is our first cruise and our sons are under 48 inches (the magic number for slides at Atlantis), so after reading a bunch of reviews we decided it might be more fun for US to hang out at a nearly empty Mickey pool and tour a quiet ship for our first full day at sea. Next cruise we will definately do Atlantis, though.

I didn't realize that they had a height restriction. Both of my boys are tall enough but, thanks for mentioning it, could've been a problem.

You will have a great time on board and still might just want to get off and take a quick walk around the port.

We will be on our first cruise just by ourselves- just the two of us- cant wait

Welcome! I hope someday my DH and I can take a cruise together, just the two of us! Thats awesome for the two of you! You'll have SO much fun, I'm sure!
Time sure seems to be flying all of the sudden. My kids start back to school a week from tomorrow, and before we know it September too will be gone, getting closer and closer!

I've decided that as people join the FE Gift Exchange, I'll just update Post #245 itself instead of making a new one, but will post a note that it's been updated.
So, it's now been updated!

Welcome to the board & the fish extenders exchange! Will your kids be doing the kid clubs? I also have a 7yo son & 5yo daughter (and a son turning 10 in Sept). I'm glad the 5 & 7 year olds are together in the kid clubs.

Does anyone else here, when experiencing problems with their vehicles, just see $$$$$$$$ flashing in their heads? We are driving from home to Florida for this trip, it's a 23 hour drive. My van, only 66,000 KM on it (warranty ran out at 60,000) has had issues for about a month. This past weekend, the engine light came on and stayed on so we drove it to Canadian Tire, where we usually have tune ups ect..... They called today and said "numerous problems and it'll cost $1174.00 to fix it (taxes included). $$$$$$$$, thats all I could see, along with our Disney spending money slipping away. After confering with DH, we decided to take it to another local garage whose owner used to go to school with my DH (he wouldn't charge to have a look at it, gee, why didn't we take it there in the first place??). Anyway I called Canadian Tire back, didn't want to tell him we were taking it somewhere else so just told them that we just couldn't do that amount right now, "how much do I owe for finding the problems, and I'll come pick it up ". THat mechanic said $160.00 for now but to wait. He said he was in a good mood today and he'll call me back in 10 minutes. Well he called back, told me they'll drop the labour costs and oil change (since we can live without that for now), and dropped the price by $300.00. WOW,,that actually helps a TON! That amount is the same amount my DH is getting back in his income tax refund (yes I was late filing our taxes this year, but at least he didn't owe). SO, although it was still a lot, it won't take from our Disney Fund, and there is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. We've since picked up our Fixed vehicle, and it drives BEAUTIFULLY. Now I just keep my fingers crossed something else doesn't go wrong with it!

Seems like problems always pop up after the warranty is up doesn't it. My last vehicle was a ford explorer and we would randomly have problems with the drivers side window power windows not working. But it was random working one day and not the next. Then a wk after the warranty was up it stopped working all together. So frustrating! Glad you were at least able to get the price cut some. It's funny what they can do when they think your going to walk away.
