Is there a roll call yet for this date? I'm not sure how to get one going? Our kids are 10 (boy) and 9 (girl). They will have to be split up do to their ages in the kids club. We are looking for to see if there are other kids their ages going? This is our first time cruising and we will be at WDW for 6 nights prior. Anyone else in the same boat?:)

Hello!

I thought I was the only one going at this time. I posted this date a few months ago and you are the first to answer. I am going with my daughters and their children. One granddaughter will be 9 right before we go. The other two granddaughters will be 7. Where are you staying at WDW?

Maybe it's just our two families and we have the whole boat to ourselves?? It's our first time to everything and we are staying the Polynesian after much deliberation. Our reservations have been changed from Poly to WL to Pop to PorFQ to Poly. So who knows if i'll be able to continue a blind eye to the cost or if I'll switch again. We're coming all the way from Spokane WA and I wonder how often if ever we will make the trip again. (thats part of my rationalization process). My daughter is 9 and son is 10. I have been promising them this cruise for the last 5 years. I remember getting the video and watching it with them when they were little. We have the countdown to WDW on the fridge and it just seems to far away for them. Has your familiy been on the cruise before? Are you going to WDW? If so where are you staying? I'm so excited to find someone who's going. I tried to talk to my husband tonight about all the plans i've made and he says just surprise me. He doesn't want to discuss it for the next 75 days.:confused3 I can't wait to hear about your trip. :yay: Where is your family from?

Hi there!

My family is from New Jersey. Of the 4 grandkids one has been there 8 times. And she is only 7! Her mother is the disney queen. My other 3 grandkids have never been there. None of the grandkids have been on a cruise. My two daughters and I have but not on DCL. We will be staying at All Star Sports. As there are 9 of us going that is the only way we could afford to go to both the world and the cruise. We will get at the World on Sat, 10/27 and stay until the cruise on 11/1. We are going to the MNSSHP on Halloween night. Are you doing any of the excursions on the ship? Will talk more later. I'm at work now. Oh, by the way, my name is Bette.

Hi Bette

We arrive and go straight to the Halloween Party at Disney. We are doing the illuminations cruise at Epcot on Halloween night. The kids really want to parasail. I'm scheduling that at disney world because it doesn't look like they can go together at castaway cay. Sammy Duvall will let them go tandem that way i don't have to pay to go with each of them. On the cruise i purchased a room at the Comfort Suites Inn for our day at Nassau so we could get the wrist bands for the Atlantis resort water recreation. For castaway I haven't planned anything. I'm leaning towards relaxing with a little snorkeling thrown in for good measure. Oh, I love good food so I'm hoping for a Palo reservation. We have the dining plan at disney so I hope I have room left for the cruise food. Have you made plans for the cruise? Have you stayed at the All Stars before? What makes you choose this value over the other ones? My husband and kids have never been to WDW but i did go once with my Dad and 3 of my siblings about 14 years ago. We stayed at Dixing Landings and I remember going by Poly and thinking Oh i want to stay there next time. I realized why we didn't stay there when i saw the price :scared: but i turned 40 :sad2: last week and I'm hoping to get my Poly wish. Oh what other cruise lines have you gone on? Talk with you soon. Amber

Hello Amber,

We arrive at the WDW sometime Saturday early afternoon. My dd (the disney queen) has made different reservations for us for during the week for meals (we are on the dining plan also). The girls want to do the hair at BBB and go to the castle for lunch. I think that will be on Tues or Wed. We go to Chef Mickey one day for bfkst. I have her schedule but not with me at work. I'll have to look at it and see what else is going on.

What is your daughter's name? I told my granddaughter, Carly that she will be on the ship at the same time. She hopes they can meet. She will be too old to be with her sister and cousin in the labs on the ship. They are only 7.

When my two dd were little I went to WDW a few times with them and their father. Then I didn't go for almost 30 years. I started going again with one dd and her daughter about 3 years ago. This will be the first trip for the other dd's children. I just got back in March and then found out that everybody could go.

did your dd and ds do pin trading? My granddaughter and I traded for the
1st time in march. Now they all want to trade. I started getting some trader pins.

As there are 9 of us going to WDW and the cruise, money was tight so we wanted to go value. My dd and I stayed at *** in March. It was okay. We weren't in the room much. Left the room before 7 and didn't come back until after 10pm. My granddaughter, Lexi liked it because of the sport theme. We have stayed at the Caribbean Beach resort. Even pd extra $ to get a water view (which was only if you went out the door and leaned over the rail and looked to the left). The Poly does look so nice.

I have been on the Holland America Cruise lines twice and once on the Zenith (where my other dd got married).

Better stop now. This will take you all night to read through.

Hope to hear from you again. Bette

Hello

Tell Carly that Tessa is very excited to meet her. Tessa likes acting class, drawing, swimming, cross country and chocolate. She is very excited to ride in the plane and go to WDW and the cruise. She is doing BBB and lunch with Cindy on Oct 28. Maybe they could write to each before they go? I don't know alot about pin trading. How do you get started. Are they expensive? I think I'm going to love the cruise. I wish it was more than 3 nights. But i wanted to make sure we could enjoy time at Disney world too. Oh I wanted to tell you we were able to save $440 on our WDW package with a Disney Visa Card code that just came out. We called our AAA travel agent and she added the discount to our package. The code is ZQL. Are you guys bringing costumes for Halloween or the Pirate party on the boat?? I was thinking of buying themed tishirts if my kids will let me get away with it. Are you doing Fantasmic? I keep wavering on this. Do you think its a must? We went to Disneyland 2 Christmas' ago and we could hardly see it with all the people standing in front of us. 77 days to go for the cruise!! Talk with you soon.

PM me your address. Carly would love to write to Tessa. I am on vacation next week. We go to our townhouse in Ocean City Maryland. Carly and her family will be spending part of the week with us. So she can write to Tessa before she leaves. The pins could get expensive. But if you look around you can find some cheaper ones for trading. I traded for the 1st time in March with the "disney queen's" daughter. She loved it. Now that the other kids are going for the first time I had to get more pins for trading. Bid for some on e-bay. got a few good deals. going to show Carly and her siblings this weekend. Carly and her cousins are going to BBB and lunch at the Castle on Wed, 10/30.

I have a tea party with the granddaughters every February. This year we had a Pirate tea party. The girls wore blouses of mine with a long scarf around their waist. I got them Pirate doo-rags for their head and pirate necklaces. They wore the blouse with a pr of stretch black pants. We had a treasure hunt and sword fights. They loved it. So that is what 2 of the girls are going to take for Halloween night and the cruise. The disney queen might get a regular girl pirate outfit for her daughter. The dd and I will probably also wear big blouses with a scarf as a belt. Not sure about the fellows in the group

I have seen Fantasmic enough times now that I could miss it if necessary. But with the family of first-times to WDW I'm sure we will go see it.

My dd (Eliana, age 9) and I will be on our first cruise. We will also be arriving on October 26th to spend some time a WDW first. We will also be going to our first MNSSHP on the 30th. We're both so excited that we're already planning another trip for Jan 08 with the rest of the family! :goodvibes
...Sarah

Welcome aboard Sarah! As you probably have learned from the above posts, there are two other girls( both 9) that will be going to WDW and the Wonder. Would Eliana like to receive a pm from my granddaugher Carly?
Bette

Eliana would love to hear from Carly. She just sent a message to Tessa this evening and was so cute trying to type just the right thing. :)

I will call Carly today and tell her the good news. I won't be with her until this weekend, so she will have to tell me over the phone what she wants to tell Eliana.

Where are you staying at WDW? I will be with my daughter and one of my granddaughters Alexis (7) and my other daughter, son in law and my other 3 grandchildren, Tanner (11), Carly (who will be 9 right before we go) and Morgan (7).

We are staying at SSR this time. Each time we go we want to try a different resort. I booked a 'Swim' with the dolphins excursion on Nassau and the Stringray Lagoon on Castaway Cay. Any excursions booked for anyone else? We finally got our passports at the beginning of August after over 4 months of waiting! It was making me nervous.

We haven't booked anything yet. With 9 of us going, I 'm not sure what we are doing yet. I think I just want to relax. I have stayed at the Atlantis about 8 years ago for a company trip. It was a beautiful resort. Is SSR Sarasota Springs? Not too familiar with all the resorts. Where is it? I think on Monday while we are at WDW we are all going to Sea World. My daughter has made reservations for meals and for the girls to go to BBB before they have their castle meal. Carly and Morgan sent Eliana a pm. The 3 girls are really excited about the trip. My grandson has mixed feelings. Thinks he is too old to feel the "magic" Though he is excited about his first plane ride.

SSR is Saratoga Springs, one of the Vacation Club Villas. We are renting points for this vacation which can be very economical. It is located near Downtown Disney. Since it's so close to Downtown Disney we are going to try out the Cirque de Soleil La Nouba show the first night we're there. I've never been to one of their shows but I've heard lots of good things about it.
My parents, sisters and nephew are all very jealous of our Halloween trip so I've started planning a trip to WDW the first week of Jan. 2008 for all of us. What can I say...we love Disney!
Eliana sent a PM to Carly this evening. She would love to trade pins. As a surprise, I've ordered a 50 pin lot off of ebay for her to take with her and trade.
Have a good Labor Day Weekend.

Yeah we now have 2 families to get excited about our trip with. :cool1: We are going to do the water park at Atlantis most of the day. I'm debating about the stingray excursion. I was wondering if you choose early or late dinner and your reasoning behind it? We have early right now but I'm thinking of changing it to late. If you have early dinner then you have early breakfast on the last day and it starts at 6:30. I'm already wishing the cruise was longer with at least one day at sea. If I like it as much as i think i will then I'm planning on booking a Dec 2008 7 night cruise. Our flight home was moved forward a day so it looks like we're going back to disneyworld for one more day when we get off the ship. I hope I can keep the energy going. Truman and Tessa just received their Pirate costumes from disneyshopping.com. They have been running around in their costumes. pirate: All I can think about is the trip. If I'm having a hard day at work I just say to myself disneyworld disneyworld disneyworld and everythings great again:woohoo: At passporter.com I downloaded their cruise tips but I haven't read them all yet. Talk with you all later Amber
