My memory is pitiful. When we first purchased DVC, I think we used to get new points charts mailed to us well ahead of the time we needed them. Now that does not seem to happen. I do get regular e-mail regarding my membership, especially to offer sales promotions, but I don't ever remember getting a timely e-mail notifying me that new point charts were available on the member site.
So, can those of you who still have a memory set me straight on whether my memory is messed up on this issue? Am I correct in thinking that Disney is REALLY doing a much worse job than they used to of getting info about points charts to members?

Yep. For years we always received the printed version in the mail in September or October. Last year we did not receive a print copy until May and nothing at all was available until late January via the member website.

I really liked the old binder version. I wouldn't mind giving that up if we at least we had a better website and info.

Expect a new planner with the 2011 charts sometime in the summer.

You are absolutely correct, Jean! I loved those ring binders. They always sent the updated charts as a seperate sheet for each resort and you just replaced the old one in the ring binder. LOVED IT! This not getting new charts in time to plan is just nuts! Also, what about the few folks who might not yet have email. I know it sounds crazy that someone might not have email, but there are a few of them out there yet.

I really enjoy having the books, and thought getting it in September/October was an excellent timeframe.

I had hoped that DVC would get its act together on this, but didn't hold my breath.

Maybe if we get them in February this year, we could get them in December next time.

But that is still unacceptable in my book. Why can't we get them in October like we used to? I always used to have point charts two years ahead until last year. I have always used them for long range planning, and I can't effectively do that anymore with these late charts.

I'm hoping for the best - that we will get the 2011 points/book by January 31st, 2011. LOL :lmao:

With the reallocations, they want to avoid sending them out until the last minute. They don't believe in announcing bad news in advance. ;)

Sadly this is another of my frustrations with the current DVC. As time goes on, Disney's actions towards DVC Members tells me they could care less about us after the sale. :sad2:

Nope, they just slipped them onto the website. More than they even did for the valet parking, when it was just word of mouth for a long time. :sad2:

In all seriousness - I find it disheartening that after the Valet "Announcement", or lack there of, they did not send out a notification that the 2011 points were now available on the website.

I have received NOTHING from DVC, electronic or hard copy. Pathetic--downright arrogant--when I consider all of the e-mail and snail mail I get from Disney when they want me to buy something.

As I've said before...DVC management shows a great deal of immaturity in the way that they communicate with the membership. I don't know if its J. Lewis or someone under him, but the buck stops with Jim and he hasn't stopped it.

Here's an interesting thought: I've not heard very many complaints about housekeeping lately. Did housekeeping get better or did we just find something better to complain about?
