I just went to there website to check my flights for November (to see if the times have changed or they've been canceled) and there's a note on mine and several of the flights that say's "Subject to Gov't approval"......

What does that mean? I've never seen it before.

Many of the airlines just did a swap for flight times (they had a word that I can't remember) and the government had to approve the swaps before they could add the flights. That is one possibility... What airport are you flying out of?

Reagan National (DCA) is a slot-restricted airport. Basically, this means that there are a limited number of airline flights in and out. The airlines sort of "bid" on the opportunity to fly in and out of the airport. What the gov't approval will do is open up another slot (or possibly a slot transfer from one airline to another). For example, USAirways wanted to fly into DCA from Akron OH (CAK). They would have either had to ask for a slot to enter into or another airline to drop their slot and USAirways pick up that slot.

Guess I better come up with a Plan B since both the non stop flights I'm booked on are subject to gov't approval. Plus, I just now noticed that there are no non stop flights for Sept. and Oct. from DCA to MCO, the first one is in November and it is listed as "subject to gov't approval" also.

I really, really, really wanted a non stop flight. Wonder if they don't get approved if they would switch me to another non stop flight even if it was at a different airport?

DON'T WORRY Air Tran is leaving Newark airport. They're giving Continental 10 slots and one gate. Continental is giving Airtran slots at LGA and at Regan Airport. It's a swap. Government approval should be a given.

The change is effective October 25.

Oh I hope your right!
