Noticed a Change in On-line Check-In

Today I decided to try the online check in for my upcoming VWL stay :cool1:, and noticed a change in the fields during this process. First, I did not see any choices for close to the elevator or ground floor (I think others have posted these were the only two choices). The only thing I could request for the room was a mini refrigerator or a pack-n-play (we are staying in a studio). No other fields to put in a room location. Also, the only thing I really put in was arrival time and departure time. I did not input a credit card number, as I do not want this on our key to the world cards. Basically, that was it. Does this seem like a change from previous online check-in fields/choices?

bump.....

Why would they have a mini-fridge as an option for a studio? How many do they think we need? :confused3

Are you sure you weren't on the WL check-in site instead of the VWL?? Those "options" they offer are kind of strange for a DVC studio.

Yeah, that seems weird that you would be offered the mini fridge and pack n play options when those are already in the studios...

I wonder if the system was hinky and popped you into WL instead of VWL.

I was sent an email confirmation and it says right at the top "Villas at Wilderness Lodge". I also had to give a phone number that we could be reached by. Yes this does seem strange.:confused3

Soooo.....If you didn't check "mini fridge" and Pack N Play are they going to remove them?????? I too think you were bumped to the regular WL site. Either that or On line check in is totally useless for DVC! Frankly I have thought it was in the totally useless catagory to begin with.

It's even strange for a WL request as all of the moderates and deluxe resorts already have fridges in the rooms.

helenk, that's true.

I know the dining system was down earlier today...I wonder if whatever tech problems were going on, if the online check in was affected as well.

Yes this is different than the original screens.

On-line check-in is not a DVC program, it's a program made for CRO Guests and DVC has decided to make it available to reduce Cast Member work load. Since it isn't written for the DVC, the selections don't reflect choices that DVC Members are interested in.

Well, you know I wasn't really doubting a VWL Groupie.:) Just seemed very strange and I'm landing in the "on-line system was having a bad day" camp. :sad2:

From reports I remember reading the options you were given have been the options at VWL since maybe the first day or two when you were able to type in your requests. It makes zero sense and I sometimes think that the IT department has never even visited WDW! :sad2:
