No trees and no people!!!! At least that is what I see ;) I really like it w/o the trees... much better view/shot of the castle :)

That's the first thing I noticed!! Right now my weather bug is saying it's 37 degrees and that's the warmest it's been all week. FLORIDA HERE I COME!!! :hyper:

That's the reward of getting to the park for the early ps at the castle. We took this picture last week when we had an 8:10PS at the castle and the park didn't open til 9. It's so peaceful and beautiful when it is like that.

You can actually SEE the castle, the big trees are gone.

It looks grand, simply grand. :sunny:
I think Rhonda, first with my idea this AM, gets the Grand prize, an all expense trip (sans merchandise) to Grapevine Mills Mall in beautiful suburban Dallas. :teeth:

I was referring to the removal of the trees in the Hub area, though all the other ideas were certainly correct too.......lack of people, no snow, poinsettia trees, and others. And I am sure it is for Wishes, with the huge displays of fireworks around the Castle and the many lighting effects on the Castle. It does look nice and fresh, a new look.

And here is another from late this afternoon, as I was leaving the MK, a little different view in the glow of the setting sun.........

Nice pictures, Laurie and Kim.

I may be in the minority, but I really don't think Main Street needed the equivalent of a Brazilian wax :(

I miss the trees

Oh, oh, oh!!!! (waving hand wildly!) I want to win the trip!!!!

Oh, wait. Dan said Grapevine Mills Mall, and no merchandise. That's five minutes from my house. Hmmm... maybe not such a special deal for me, after all. Rats.

Good photos, Mr. FancyCamera Murphy!! ;)

I'll miss the trees too, as well as the shade they provided, even if it was minimal.

But Dan! I wanted to go to Disney World.

Excuse me while I go pout for a while.

:p

That looks great. Having the trees gone gives such a better view of the castle, but I will miss the shade they gave when watching the Castle Shows. Great pic Dan.

Beautiful pics Dan. I was suprised to see they took out all the trees. It's both a good and bad thing.

One of the best things they could have done, you could barely see the castle until the trees came down, Thanks Dan.

Dan, what is all that blue around the Castle and why is it so bright in your picture?

Oh yeah, blue sky and sunshine...........haven't seen that since I left Florida a week ago today.:( I miss the sun...............beautiful picture though!

:sunny:

Oh,Dan, just love that second picture you posted! How beautiful! Thanks for posting it, and looking forward to more!:bounce:

I was just thinking, after seeing the Disney Christmas parade yesterday, that another possible reason for the tree removal was to give a better, more complete view of the Castle during the parade. My recollection is, that in years' past, that the 'reviewing stand' and broadcasting area was set up where Main Street meets Town Square. This year that was set up at the other end of Main Street, on the area between Main Street and the Hub, on Casey's side of the street. Just a thought. If that is maybe the reason, we may see the trees returned soon. Who knows??

According to my CM friend, the trees were scheduled to be replaced with smaller Magnolia trees. The removal of the trees was accelerated when a storm damaged one of the large trees and it became necessary to remove it. So all the trees are gone for now. There are also plans in the works to lower the planters on the hub to ground level. Stay tuned for further changes.
