I know that spraying perfume on before you work out doesn't work (gym class).

EXACTLY. There's a woman at my gym who does her hair all big, full makeup, and half-drowns herself in perfume before showing up each time. It's all I can do not to take her aside and say, "Um, honey? This ain't happy hour."

Grr. I'm not sensitive to perfumes at all, but I have to leave when she's there. I can feel my sinuses closing up minute by minute.
