Nothing Thread

*laying out the pop tarts and making some fresh coffee*

ok ok - if you MUST, there is yogurt, fruit and/or cereal over there *pointing*

lol

Good morning everyone!

Okay, I realize this has nothing to do with anything on this thread, but I just wanted to say, "Hey, we just got back from from Hilton Head, and we had fun! And that DVC is so cool!"

Okay, we didn't stay at the DVC. We've been going to HH for years and staying at the same place in Sea Pines, but I went to check it out in case we wanted to use it in future, and I loved it! So I'll be posting that on another thread and asking all my new questions.

But other than that, we swam, and beached, and biked, we tennised, and dolphin-cruised, and even got picked (my daughters and neices, not me) to sing for Gregg Russell in Harbour Town. We had a great time.

Now the trip home, well, that was another story. A ten month old added to the two little girls really changes a long roadtrip, to say the least. ;)

But all in all, sounds like a BLAST!!! I am thinking that this first trip with our newborn in December will be easy (since they sleep so much still) but trips after that for a few years will be ACK!!! There is even that period from about 9 months to a year and a 1/2 where we would rather be poked in the eye than take a small child to a restaurant! The good news is that it will cut back on the spending (and maybe bring those points at Vero or HHI closer to being a reality for me :teeth: )

Welcome home! I will be looking for your report!

Laura

Thanks, Laura!

I was actually thinking of you with the baby thing, and traveling. You're right - I think if you can stand traveling while not sleeping (as in, when the baby's less than three months) they're very easy going. But now it's really hard to keep a schedule. I'm so thankful we agreed to fly to WDW this September! 2 hours is sounding waaaayyy better than 20 in the car.

And now I'm crying a little, thinking that when we go will be the dreaded eating-in-a-restaurant-with-this-child-stinks time. And I really like to eat at WDW. Oh well, I like the baby too ;) , and they're only little once. But it has been interesting going back to the baby stage. We had our traveling stuff down with the girls - they're both great about it, and now it's an adjustment. But, darn it!, he's cute, and so we kind of have to take him along. I'm really looking forward to seeing him look around at Disney anyway, since there's so much to see, it's fun to watch.

New word. Yuengling. Baby sleeping (for now). Gonna read Harry Potter 'till I doze off. Wow - life seems almost normal. Except for the spit up on my shirt. Oh wait..that's mine.

Okay, I'm picturing a horse wearing reading glasses, sitting in a recliner, holding a book, drinking Yuengling, with a bib on. I predict years of therapy after this vision...:scared:

Morning all! Hope you had a great weekend!

Good to here our presidential candidate is acclimating well. Nougat! No there's a fun word!

Aaarrrrghhh!

I've three chapters left in HBP.

Stayed up way too late. Must get sleep. Must finsish book. Must get sleep. Must finish Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I knew when hubby and I were finally "over the edge into crazyland" about having one more when after sitting in a restaurant one night with the boys, enjoying a nice, quiet meal where we all talked and had a big time (yet relaxed), we looked at each other *sighing* with contentment at this HUGE accomplishment and then still went home and discussed #3  What can I say - I am a glutton for punishment  :earboy2:

Hehe a liking the baby - thank goodness they are so darn cute, eh! :cloud9:

Glad you liked my happy place. Been a proud HHI owner for a few years and will never regret it. Best decision we ever made. Starting to go twice a year now, spring break and late August. And with a brother moving to Charleston, I imagine it'll make one more reason to go.
Nougat!

OK - there will be NO spoiler talk until I get finished with the book as well! ;) My son decided he wanted me to read to him last night so we started WAAAAYYYY back with the Sorcerer's Stone :goodvibes Anything to share a little quiet time with him.

Rash - tell me that isn't Yuengling on your shirt you spit up! :earseek: I am sure that offense will get you reported to ...errr...jeez I am getting old...wait - I remember - the alcohol police! (a left over from my teenage years - don't spill that drink - the alcohol police will get you...no no of course I didn't mean my teenage years :rolleyes1 I certainly NEVER drank then  )

Carrie - how was your weekend with your parents? Have some good weather for your outing to the Coast Guard Festival? We were busy busy with family stuff all weekend and it is so nice (except I didn't get the house clean - oh well...they tell me dirt will wait).

We decided to go ahead and get that long weekend in January (just such low points! hard to pass up). I can't wait to see your happy place TW1!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm414YYUS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_1_14.gif' alt='Hammock' border=0></a>

Beautiful weather for Coast Guard. Dad's supposedly recovering from surgery. Had I not been there for teh surgery, though, I wouldn't believe it. We were supposedly kicking back, but walked 4 to 5 miles on Saturday. Fire works were incredible! Very nice weekend. Why do they always have to end. :(

lllovell - Dirt will wait.

Wouldn't dream of it. I've read them all out-loud to DD, starting with Scorcerer's when she was in 1st grade, and it has been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding bonding experiences. She shares a birthday with HP which makes her feel special. DW made her an awesome wizard costume a few years back that she proudly wore to the bookstore for the midnight release. (Yup she's almost as geeky as her dad.)

She's entering 5th grade now and I'm hoping we can keep this going through book 7. We've actually been reading HBP with the other books at hand to refer back to characters and events. We'll finish tonight and I PROMISE not to post a single word on it, ever. Wouldn't want it spoiling anyone's fun.

Banish the thought - no! I would NEVER waste Yuengling like that! It's a mixture of Grape Tang and Old Grandad.

The only problem with this thread is you all move so fast! I can't keep up. :flower:

We think the cuteness factor is really just self-defense. That way, when the baby has woken you up for the fourth time that night, and you go in thinking you'll throw them out the window, instead you see them so happy to see you, and so darn cute, that you just think, "no, it's okay. We'll just snuggle, and I LOVE YOU!"
