Eh, take it with a grain of salt. Some people are only happy when they're arguing with somebody and if your comments are pertinent but can't instigate anything then some people will just ignore them.

I hate being ignored on threads too. I don't say a ton but when I do it's because I think it is something relevant to the thread.

My advice (and sometimes I find it hard to follow my own advice) is to not take it personally. You never know when you post something what kind of response (if any!) you're going to get. I'm betting almost everyone here has felt ignored at one time or another.

The cat is Jake. The pic is from VERY late one Christmas Eve and he was ready for bed. Just too pooped to wait up any more! Poor guy

Don't take it personally - the DisBoards are much like real life. It's all about who you know and hang out with. Cliques invariably happen. And you see this a lot on the PTR and TR sites. There are just some people that start PTR and TR threads that attract a high number of visits and posts......after a while, you realise that most of them are forum friends or have seen each other on the Boards for a few years.

As Kimblebee said - just keep posting!

And hey, at least you're not killing threads! While most of my comments get skimmed over, I'm most proud of the ones that completely shut down threads...

Plus, for everyone who posts a comment, there are undoubtedly dozens of others who agree with/appreciate your post, but just don't respond. (Sometimes I'm just too lazy to sign in, lol.)

I don't post much - I figure if what I was going to say has already been said 5 times there's not point to it. Sometimes my posts are completely ignored. Okay, usually. But maybe someone read it and it made a difference.

As for the threads where people are fighting? If you aren't going to fall in line and fight right along with them; stir up trouble; hurl insults around; attack one another; play DIS detective and dig up past posts to throw in another posters face; beat up on posters just for the heck of it - they just aren't interested in hearing anything rational, nice, or pertinent..

I wouldn't be offended by it though.. You don't have to stoop to that level in order for your post to be significant or noticed.. Just say what you have to say - post your pleasant thoughts or good wishes - and leave the rest to engage in their cyber bullying..

At least you took the time and effort to respond..

Oh Amelia, I'm sorry. I did want to give you a hug when I read your post. But, I didn't go back to post myself as there was one person who was on an absolute crusade to beat everyone over the head with her point of view. She didn't even have correct FBI info, as other people tried to point out. And that maybe she still her own stuff to work through. Instead, I just ducked out of that thread.

I'm sorry about your mom. You deserve your OWN thread to get some hugs for that. I'm glad you posted.
