Nothing New at CRO Today

I called CRO this morning to see if any great "room only" rate for Oct. was popping up under my name. All that was available was a room only rate of $93 for Pop Century after my AAA discount! Not so great. I just can't get over this sky high rate for a value resort in Oct. when a few years ago I got a pin code rate for $49 for the same room. I'm not sure what I'll do yet. The CM urged (or at least tried) me to make a reservation and then change it if something better comes along. I guess I didn't want to give Disney the satisfaction of thinking I'd stay on property at any price so I declined. Indesicion, indesicion! Anyone else?

If I were you I'd go ahead and book the room now. You can always cancel it without penalty at a later stage. I think you were very lucky with the pin code that time but what are the chances of the same thing happening again?! Very slim I'd say. I'm going in October and from reading these boards, it seems I'm not alone so I would worry about availability if you leave it too long. Go ahead and book the room I say and then at least you know you have a room, even if it's not discounted!

I would say don't book if you are not wanting to pay the AAA discounted rate. Give it a rest. You may or may not get a better rate. I agree the $49 pin code was pretty darn good, and I would not hold out too much for that. It is always a possibility. But...

October isn't value season anymore, its regular season now. Add to that the popularity of the food and wine festival.

I would book it because at least you have something.

October is popular because the weather is still warm, MNSSHP and Food & Wine. And those who don't want the holiday season figure it is their last chance too. Guests with no kids like Sept and Oct because there are fewer little guests.
