Background info
I have 2 DSs (14&10) DS14 has a friend who has a brother who is 10. Although they live down the street and around the corner (walking distance), my DS10 and other 10yo aren't really friends but know each other from school. Other 10yo has other friends.
So the 14yo brother calls my DS14 to have him ask if DS10 can come to other 10yo birthday party. They have to know RIGHT NOW if he can come or not (party is on 2/15). If he can't, then they will invite someone else.
Turns out that DSs have a dentist appt. that day. I was put on the spot to answer right then and there - no time to try and see if I could figure out a schedule change.
I looked up the party info for the place that they are having the party. It is a set price for up to 10 kids and then a $ amount for each extra kid. Its not like they could only have X amount of kids and that was it - doesn't matter if they have 1 or 10 its the same price.
