NOTHING at SSR Dec 8-11!! Help!

I have a 1BR and Studio at SSR for 8-11 Dec, but now that my BIL has decided to join us, they will need their own 1BR or Studio. Called yesterday, and couldn't book ANYTHING except studio at rack rate, which was about $330 per night. NO AP, no CCE, no AAA, nothing.

I'm not even sure how this would work, and if Disney can even transfer the reservation over, but if anyone is cancelling a 1BR or Studio at SSR from 8-11 Dec, please PM me and let me know!!

Haven't had luck with ADRs either....yes, I waited too long. Should have booked everything back in August when I booked our rooms!

Did you book with points or cash? Since they are separate inventory, if you booked with cash, perhaps you might want to visit the DVC rent/trade board to see if anyone would sell you their points ( or check with DVC at least to see if a studio is available). Keep checking also- for someone with a room only rate they can cx up to 6 days prior. In the meantime you might want to see if your BIL is amenable to being at another resort just so you have a back-up plan.---Kathy

The problem must be December 8, because I've been looking for 12/9 to 12/12 and they still have availibility at SSR for those dates.

They do? I asked the CM to look for the 9-11th (figured, that first night, we'd just all deal with it) and he said they had nothing, no 1BRs at all and just a studio or two at rack rate.

I believe I will "do the usual" and call back in a day or so and hope something has opened up!

IF you are paying cash, try making a ressie for dates longer than what you need (add on a day or two on each end) to check for availability. If there is something make that ressie. Then you can call back and cancel the dates you need. Worked for me a few times.

The availibility was for a studio for $164 a night through Disney's website. Just go to the website and click on special savings, I just checked and they still have availibility for 12/9-12/11.

I just went to the website and got the 1BR for the 9th and 10th at the (I'm assuming) CCE rate or $268 per night including tax....that is about $4 more than my military rate! I will just keep checking with CRO in hopes that the 8th opens up -- and if the "worst" happens and we all have to squoosh into our 1BR and my mom's (hopefully connecting) studio for one night, then we do.

I never would have checked the website, figured CRO would have the best info, so thanks again!

you're welcome, I'm glad you got it. Now if I can just convince someone to come and stay with my kids so my husband and I can go for a quick trip.
